Lepus had sneaking out of the house down to an art at this point, to where it was almost a little boring, even. Being a senshi for nearly seven years now, it was to be expected, but the teen chibi senshi of rabbits couldn't help but long for more excitement sometimes, more action, more... drama? Something like that, anyway, to spice up her life a little.
Admittedly, she'd done well to keep her own family from bothering her, which kept them from discovering her (badly) well-kept secret that she was harboring a guardian cat in her room. The housekeeper, who only came two days a week, had been scared away from ever checking Lepus' bedroom, and her own family, mainly her mother, left her alone at night these days, as well. This was, technically, probably not a good thing, but Lepus liked that her mom stopped trying to enforce bedtimes, and with it being summer vacation, had no reason to check in on her to make certain she did all of her homework, either.
All in all, it made it the perfect setup to get away from the house for a while, to visit her homeworld. Although Lepus normally didn’t go on solo trips, usually at least taking Etoile with her, if not an additional visitor, she had made plans to go on her own this time, if only because she had a specific thing in mind she wanted to do. It wasn’t exactly common for Lepus to feel self-conscious about her… whole being the kind of person she was, really, so perhaps it could instead be said that she wanted to be alone for the sake of… meditation? Self-reflection? Some kind of fancy word like that.
(In other words, Etoile was staying home.)
Retrieving her senshi cellphone from the void the subspace pocket it was kept in, Lepus prepared to make her trip, though first, a… speech? Feeling that the coast was clear for the moment, the teen let out one of her ‘spooky’ laughs, and did a little pose for emphasis.
“... The fated hour is almost at hand,” she spoke aloud, to no one in particular, babbling her usual nonsense, “Soon, the boundary between the spirit world and that of mortals will converge upon each other and then- huh?”
Was she just imagining things, or did she hear some rustling in the bushes nearby? … Anyway-
“Ahem, soon they will converge and then-“ Lepus paused again, because she could swear she was catching onto the faint signature of an Order-aligned cat, “Ugh, come on! I thought you were going to stay home, Etoile- I’m trying to monologue here!”
Her cool and dramatic speech was ruined by her own cat following her! Lepus couldn’t help but sound a little whiny at this turn of events. Glaring at the bushes where she could have sworn she felt a power signature come from, Lepus waited for the culprit (that she still believed to be her own bonded Mauvian) to show themselves.
“Okay, come on out already. Jeeze, you don’t have to hide, you know?”
Tapping her foot impatiently, Lepus waited for Etoile to reveal herself, expecting the little kitten to cry about being left behind or being hungry. When she didn't immediately show up, the teen chibi marched over to the offending piece of shrubbery herself, only to be met with... a regular stray cat, that dashed off and away from its hiding spot once spotted. Huh, weird, but... okay? Maybe Lepus was being tested somehow, as a way of proving her devotion to the 'dark arts', or something like that. Shrugging it off, Lepus once more turned her attention back to her phone, and pressed the magic button that would take her to her homeworld... alone, and sans any distractions, of course.
The Temple of Lepus was more or less how she left it, which was to say, it had seen better days, as usual. It wasn't as much of a mess as it was when she had first visited- she'd put some effort into cleaning up the place both with and without the help of others- but there was still room for improvement, as always. At the very least, the main sanctuary and altar had been tidied up the best she could, with Pascaline's living quarters also made up into a nice little hideaway for when the burdens of living in the 'mortal world' got to be too much (which, now that school was starting back up soon, would be often). The underground catacombs... had mostly been left untouched, once Lepus had realized, to her disappointment, that there would be no zombies or magicked skeletons rising from the dead to form her own personal undead army, but that was fine- she liked the whole spooky aesthetic, really.
"Rejoice, my loyal disciples, for I have returned!" Lepus announced, to the empty building; she had never met another living being on this world, her memories of her past life usually her only company, but perhaps there were ghosts lurking around in hiding somewhere. Wishful thinking, anyway. Setting down a bag she of miscellaneous supplies she had brought with her, Lepus took in the view of the empty sanctuary, the silence being her only soundtrack for today's adventure. Arguably, it was her soundtrack for every venture out into space, unless she played music on her phone, but today just hit differently, or something. In any case, it was time to get to work on today's mission- Lepus was intending on trying once more to contact the spirit of Pascaline, in the hopes of getting some actual guidance, and not, like, just some vague past life memories of being the pope and stuff.
Sure, it hadn't worked all the other times she had attempted, but persistence was the key, right? Retrieving an armful of candles from her bag (cheap dollar store candles- she was on a budget, and conducting spirit summoning rituals got awfully expensive after awhile), Lepus made her way up to the altar, to begin her preparations.
