Basyl did his best to keep up with everything that was happening in his life. The turn of the month signaled an official drop into his last year of medical school, and with that came a flurry of new rotations. He was expected to have acclimated by this point, and learned well beyond what was considered 'basic' to delve into more advanced practices. Though he still required supervision in most of his tasks, it was to the point where he should be able to make difficult decisions and know the answers to hard questions. This was the final stretch, and it was the most intense.
Finishing this next year should be his primary focus, his only focus, if Basyl was being honest with himself, and he did dedicate the vast majority of his days to his studies. But there were other machinations involved, as well.
Basyl had always believed if he could do something that provided a service, he should. It was his civic duty to give all that he was capable of, and for whatever unholy reason, the universe had dropped this absurd senshi powers in his lap. They were slightly harder to acclimate to than the schooling he'd done all of his life, and it felt like he barely had time to power up even on a good day, but he was trying. God, he was trying so hard.
It was really overwhelming if he thought about it too long.
He tried not to think about it too long.
Basyl had kept in contact with Kelly to the best of his abilities. They hadn't met in person again since the first time (where did the time go?), but he was grateful all the same for the open line of text communication. He sent her messages anytime he thought of something to ask, and she sent him information anytime there was any worth giving. He'd explained some confusion in regards to his magic, which never seemed to work. Ever. And Kelly had offered the idea that it might be easier near their source of power.
Narcissus couldn't get to Mirrorspace without the help of another, more powerful senshi, and Kibirev admitted to going only sparingly, so it seemed a good opportunity to go together and discover what they could.
Basyl waited outside the coffee shop where he worked, sipping an iced latte while he waited for Kelly to meet him.

Kelly had been a little nervous and a little excited to receive the text from Basyl. She had missed him and was happy that he had wanted to see her. She was even happier that he wanted to power up with her, and the idea of going to mirrorspace again...well. It was still full of a lot of heartache in her mind but...if Basyl wanted to explore...who was she to stop him?
She would get to explore as well...and maybe.
...Maybe she could find something. Not that she thought she would. The area they had been trapped in hadn’t...hadn’t really been...well. It was best not to think about it. Not to dwell on the past. Altea was dead. Lovejoy was gone and no longer wanted to be friends. That was that. Simple.
Today, she was exploring mirrorspace with a friend who she was supposed to be mentoring. There was simply no way that she could go to pieces. Not when she had to watch out for him.
Nearing the coffee shop, Kelly brightened and waved to Basyl, a smile breaking across her face. “Hi! I’m here! You’re early, I...I’m not late am I?” Oh gosh. She hoped not. “I’m excited that you texted! I missed you!”

He could pick Kelly out from practically a mile away, with her long lavender-and-baby-blue hair. Basyl found himself relaxing just a bit more as she approached, though the whole ordeal still filled him with an anxious sort of anticipation. But Kelly was one of very few people he was able to call on regarding this whole situation, so of course it was a relief that she'd agreed to meet him.
It wuld be good for him to try and power up more. And good for him to explore a bit of Mirrorspace.
"I had a few hours free today," Basyl said with a sheepish shrug and a small smile. "So I'd really hoped you'd be available. O-oh! Uh. Here." He offered a second cup to her, looking only slightly nervous as he did. "I wasn't sure what you liked, or even if you drank coffee at all, but I got you a caramel frap. It's pretty sweet and one of the more popular drinks. And since it's so hot, it seemed best to go with something cold. You know, it was cold out last time we saw each other, even. It's really been that long-" He rambled. "Uh, a-anyway, no. You're not late. I missed you too, and I'm really sorry it's been such a while."
"It's just... hard, sometimes... to try and balance everything," Basyl admitted with a tiny shrug.
But they had time now, and it was best not to squander it. He gestured down the sidewalk, away from his work. "So, what do you say? Do you want to get out of here and catch up for a minute while we finish these drinks? Then I-I guess we can find a place to... you know. Get started?"

“It’s awful trying to balance everything...that’s such a big mood…” Kelly took the drink and smiled softly. “Yeah! That’s fine! I love sweet things!” Not so much coffee but...sweet things. Hopefully the caramel and sugar would make it so she couldn’t even taste the bitter drink.
She took a sip and nodded, pleased by the taste and then nodded. “Yeah! That sounds really good to me. It’ll be fun, Basyl! I’m really excited to have a friend to explore with. We could find treasure or something, maybe?” Or at the very least...they could...not die. That would be pretty fabulous too. Or...maybe they would find some more of those crystals...that would be pretty neat.
“Do you have any questions while we walk? Or..how have you been? What’s been new with you?”
Kelly took another long sip of her drink, beginning to really like how it tasted now.
