Evening fell on Destiny City, and that meant that the good people of the town sought activities inside their houses and other safe spaces, for the night was dangerous. Monsters skulked in the shadows, and potential death awaited anyone who dared venture out. Some of the "monsters" were human-shaped, and one could never tell until it was too late. One such "monster" skulked in an alley, attempting to gather his quota of stolen starseeds for the night. "Skulked" may have been the wrong term, because at 6'7" Lieutenant Chrysotile could hardly skulk in a proper manner. He more lurked in the shadows, not really wanting to be here -- he had decided a long time ago that he wanted to no longer be a monster. He wanted to be purified. He'd even made a plan, kept it in a binder with things he wanted to make sure he remembered after the deed was done, in case he forgot who he was and more importantly who he wanted to protect. It was just a matter of time and gathering the courage to actually do the deed. And he was clearly finding that difficult, as his plan had sat collecting dust for months now. As he watched a few brave human souls who dared to be out at this hour walk past the end of the alley, Chrysotile felt an aura nearby, that of a captain. Oh great, he thought dejectedly, more pressure. Word was bound to get back to Quartz about what a slacker he was, and that meant more insults, more skutwork. More reason to get out of the Negaverse. Straightening yet staying hidden in the shadows of the allay, he smoothed his uniform and dismissed his afghan, then waited for whatever punishment or belittlement was to come.

For Carnotite, the night was the time to be alive. She stretched her arms up towards the starry sky, the orbs of crackling lights above her head far more brilliant than any dull, distant pinprick. Tendrils of electricity laced through her hair now and then, danced along platinum blonde strands. Her third eye remained shut, unnecessary as amongst the bits of neon signs and street lamps that illuminated parts of the rooftops she stalked along. Strutted along. Prowled along.
She was a Captain now. The half-youma felt a thrill of delight every time she looked down at her upgraded uniform, felt aware of her stronger power. Electricity crackled in the air around her and she smiled. Yes, she was alive, and she was on the hunt. She'd already begun to collect a decent amount of energy, and a few starseeds were already snatched from fools who wandered too close to her light.
The presence though of another agent, a Lieutenant, made her pause, her heels clicking sharply over the flat portion of a rooftop after following it for a moment. She peered over the edge, down into the alleyway that separated her position from the next building, and opened the third eye on her forehead. Down below, she could see the bright form of the electrical, chemical currents that made the living body move, in a vaguely human shape. She grinned, teeth shining white beneath the illumination of her electricity.
She always enjoyed meeting other agents.
It took very little for her to hop down into the alleyway below, landing within the darkness further in. Immediately, her light spread out over the narrow passage, and she straightened, brushing long blonde locks and electrical tendrils alike over her shoulder. "Well hello," she purred, taking in the tall figure before her. "I don't believe I've had the pleasure yet. Carnotite," she introduced herself, a delicate, golden hand glimmering in her light as she placed it against the cleavage window of her bodice.

Chrysotile had seen this captain around before. How could you not notice someone who had illuminated lightbulbs growing out of their head? He figured she was partly a youma, since the effect seemed to be in her hair and skin and eyes as well; she fairly glowed with electricity. She was attractive enough, in a weird youmafied sort of way... He allowed himself a small smile as he stepped forward. "Lieutenant Chrysotile, at your service," he replied with a small bow of his head. It was then he noticed she had a third eye on her forehead. Yup, definitely a partial youma. He wondered about that, as he sometimes did, because not many of them existed -- did it affect their loyalty to the Negaverse and Metallia? And if so, in what way? Not that it mattered, because soon he would be done with the Negaverse and Metallia entirely. And he'd better stop thinking such things, he quickly decided, lest Captain Carnotite was capable of reading his thoughts or intentions somehow. Who knew how half-youmas worked? "Lovely evening, isn't it, ma'am?' Chrysotile said with a purr of his own, hoping he could charm his way out of potential trouble. He didn't want any of this to get back to General Quartz. "Perfect weather for gathering energy and starseeds."

Carnotite appreciated pretty things. She ensured her own looks were up to her high standards, along with everything else around her. So other people that were easy on the eyes? She appreciated, greatly. This lieutenant fell into that category, and she counted herself as fortunate to have stumbled upon the man. Manners, too. Always a bonus.
He started out fine, his voice warm to her ears. But the way he finished was... off. She quirked a brow. Perfect weather for... gathering energy and... starseeds... "Yes, it is a lovely evening," she returned warmly, her heels clicking firmly against the grimy alleyway as she began to stroll towards him. Her voice was sickly sweet in its warm, honey tones--hiding poison beneath. "Though, I'm curious, Lt. Chrysotile, what sort of weather wouldn't you complete your required quota in~?"
Around her, electricity sparkled lazily from her hair and the orbs above her head. Nothing meant to be a threat to him, or anything else around her. Her glowing eyes remained keenly focused on him. Something just felt... off, though she couldn't quite put a golden nail on it yet.

Immediately Chrysotile realized he'd made a slight misstep. "There's no weather I won't complete my duties in," he replied, hoping this would correct that error. "It's just that pleasant evenings like this mean there are more potential targets out and about. Better quality pickings, if you will." Watching her approach him, he kept the warm smile on his face and tried not to let any of this trepidation show. Did she know somehow? Did she know that he was planning on leaving the Negaverse for good? Was she sent by Quartz to hunt him down? He couldn't take any chances -- not now, when he was so close to getting out... "Well, ma'am, not to be rude or anything, but I had best carry on gathering my quota," he smiled by way of gracefully excusing himself. "Don't want to let General Quartz down." He figured name-dropping his superior officer's name might help get him off the hook. Maybe.
