Shadiya twisted her arms up into the air, the dancer moving gracefully to the music that floated over the crowds. The Oban performer had wanted to enjoy the festival and had volunteered to hold a show to raise funds for the orphanage in Sulburi. A few performers, some from her own school, had already danced and now it was Shadiya's turn. Her crimson silks swayed about her body, most of it so sheer that only the skin colored top and tights beneath truly covered her body but it was the gleaming sword in her hands that caught the most attention. Shadiya worked artfully to keep the crowd's attention as she continuously twisted and glided across the stage in tune with the music that was telling the story of some great battle. Shadows were cast along the stage, their forms created by others who worked with magic and fire to help shape the battlefield as Shadiya's dance represented the love affair and rise of a warrior woman, a legend that had caught even the eye of Jonal. Legend said that she led the Obans through so many battles in the past before rising to become Jonal's lover in the heavens, taking her place amongst gods as a reward for her battle prowess that had kept their country safe during dark times. Her constellation was high in the sky tonight, her sword raised in preparation for the final attack before she saved the day at the cost of her own life. It was the summer festival and everyone loved seeing the story since the constellation of Adira was so high in the skies at this time of year. Shadiya always worked so hard to deliver the story through dance and tonight was no different as she finally collapsed on the stage in death, the area silent for the brief moment before the slow rise of music signaled her revival and departure into the heavens where the god Jonal awaited her so that he could take her into his arms. Once the music had hit its final crescendo and the area was quiet again applause slowly started to fill the air before exploding throughout the crowd with cheers.

After Shadiya curtsied to the crowd to show her respect and appreciation for their support, the next dancer came onto stage. Wiping the sweat from her brow, Shadiya grabbed a flask of water and took a deep drink. "Well that was fun." She mused after finally catching her breath, her chest now rising and falling at a much calmer pace than a moment before. The Oban could only smile as she listened to a new melody filling the air as the next dancer, a Matori girl, took to the stage. It was the dance of Ubeli'ae this time in honor of the ocean glittering so nearby. After all even though Adira was a popular character they were still in Matori andt his was Ubeli'ae's night to truly shine. Shadiya smiled as she raised her gaze towards the early evening sky, the stars finally appearing as more and more lanterns started to light up the town square. "Now if only I could find someone handsome and fun to spend the rest of the evening with." She teased lightly before glancing about the edge of the crowd to see if she could spot her husband. She had hoped that after her performance that they could perhaps walk the festival a bit more to see the other stalls and maybe even light some lanterns to release later that night once the full moon was truly at its height in the sky.

Standing at the back of the crowd, Dexurn watched the show with the usual admiration and fascination. He made a point of going to as many of Shadiya's shows as possible. The only things that stopped him were if there was no one to help with the kids. Today he had gotten lucky, and the cluster had gone to enjoy the youngling oriented entertainment with others. Able to watch his wife dance without interruption was a gift to him.

Of course, it was also a curse. Others watched Shade's dance with too much interest, in his opinion, and he preferred to be there to shoo off any creeps after the shows. There was security and he trusted Shade's ability to break a guy's hand if one dared try to touch her, but still!

Like the cheeky local approaching the dancer right now. "Hey, I'm handsome, and my evening is free~" the stranger encouraged with a charming grin.

"I believe she's talking about her husband," Dex said with a pointed look, slipping an arm around Shade's waist to sweep her away. His glare turned into a grin when he turned face his wife. "My evening's free, too, just so you know."

"Oh darlin' I think I already have someone in mind that hits that mark, sorry." Quipped Shadiya with a playful laugh as she watched the stranger purse his lips in almost a pout before turning away. It was hopefully all in good humor, honestly she hadn't had too many issues with people in this area save for the occasional rowdy traveler or two, but thankfully her training as a rogue had never left her. It did help that she danced with swords, one which she had sheathed at her side as she reached up to pat Dexurn's cheek before placing a kiss on his lips. "Good to know!" Shadiya responded with a wide smile.

"Would you imagine that my evening just opened up as well, so dare we enjoy this festival together now?" Even if a crowd full of handsome strangers idolized her the Oban saw no one other than her wonderful husband, it was obvious to everyone and especially some of the younger dances that either giggled or blushed at the obvious affection between their mentor and her spouse. "Have a great night, Ms. Shadiya! We'll clean up after the last performer!" Called out a pair of the oldest as one gave her a wink before her bashful friend dragged them both away and towards the back of the performance area.

"What a nice coincidence," he replied with a smirk. It wasn't exactly rare to get time alone with Shadiya and no kids, but he appreciated every chance they got. He kept his hand hooked to Shade's waist as they headed away from the stage. "Your dance was great today. I think you've earned yourself something special." He looked around and pointed to a couple stalls. "What do you think? Something fluffy? Something tasty? Something shiny? Whatever you'd like."

"Ooooh. I know what I'd like but I already have it." Teased Shadiya as she leaned into her husband with a playful grin. She was delighted that they got to spend time together and even if he was simply being nice she adored that he complimented her performance. She had worked hard on it after all and she loved that her dear ones could watch~ The Oban woman did purse her lips thoughtfully before glancing about. "We haven't ever really taken the time to play games." She admitted with curiosity. Even when they were younger she had been on the run from her uncle and before that she wasn't allowed out to such lesser events. The very thought made her wrinkle her nose in distaste at the memory before something caught her gaze. "Oh!" Her gaze widened as she pointed towards a stall with some stuffed creatures hanging around it. "Those stuffed pipla are adorable." She began before chewing at her bottom lip almost sheepishly. "It would be a bit childish but they are cute, right?"

Dex chuckled and squeezed Shade's waist. "Well, that makes things easier." He enjoyed buying things for his family even though he was not the most willing for buying things for himself. Ah, but games were something they could do! He guided them over to the indicated stall and leaned in for a closer look. "Yeah, cute." He turned to her and grinned. "If that's what you'd like, I will try to deliver. Something special to remember the festival for."

Shadiya's gaze brightened with delight. "If you manage to win that I'll definitely make certain to repay you somehow." She promised as she squeezed her husband's arm happily. "All of the kisses?" The Oban woman teased lightly as she glanced about the stall once more. Even if it was a bit childish it was sometimes nice to just let go and not worry about such things, right? And if anyone could win something for her then surely it would be Dexurn! Shadiya gave her husband's arm another squeeze before taking a step back and gesturing towards the game. "I believe in you~" She smiled towards him and watched as the vendor stepped forward with a basket of balls.

"Care to try knocking some of the wooden pins down? The more you knock down the more likely you are to win a prize."

Dex felt his cheeks flushing lightly. As ever, he felt like a youth trying to impress a girl far out of his league. Then he remembered that they had seven children together... She might have been out of his league, but he must have done something right! "I accept," he returned lightly. Who was he to turn down a kiss or two? Or all of them, in this case?

Placing a couple coins onto the stall counter, he accepted the basket and made his first throw.

"It was just a warm up throw." Encouraged Shadiya with a smile as she watched the three wooden pins wobble and fall over. The Oban dancer bumped her hip against Dexurn playfully as she glanced over the pins. "Maybe try a bit more towards the right?" She offered quietly as she studied the set-up, confidence in her expression as she fully believed in her husband's ability to conquer this challenge. If not then surely the game was rigged! That much Shadiya was determined to believe as she stared down the pins and waited for the merchant to fix them while Dexurn received another ball and chance to knock down the pins for a prize. Honestly even if they didn't win anything big it was fine by Shadiya because she was simply enjoying spending time together without any worries with Dexurn.

Dex snorted out a laugh. "A warm up.. you're too kind." Give him a shield, and he would naturally have every pin knocked in a single blow. This was a wee ball and needed an accuracy that he tended to lack. He looked over the pins again and adjusted his stance as recommended. "Round two," he murmured, giving Shade's cheek a quick kiss for good luck before giving the ball another throw.

"Hey! You did it!" Shadiya praised Dexurn with a grin. "Six is surely worth something, right?" She asked the vendor who slowly nodded.

"A small trinket. " He gestured over the display of small wooden flowers and a few other smaller prizes, including some delicate paper fans as well with painted designs. It was something small but Shadiya was still delighted with anything that Dexurn would pick for her.

"What do you think? Finished with this game or wanting go again?" Either way she was just enjoying spending time with Dexurn.

Dex leaned over the small prizes and looked over the options carefully. With a small smile, he pointed to one of the wooden flowers. The vendor held it out to Shadiya, handing over one painted with glossy shades of blue petals with a deep orange center. "Third time's the charm, maybe?" He stole away another kiss as the pins were reset, holding his wife's lips for a long moment this time. He stepped a little further right, and then threw.

Shadiya held onto the flower like it was a treasured gem. "Thank you, love." She leaned into the kiss before stepping back to watch him take aim again. "Oh that has to be a decent prize for sure! She grinned towards Dexurn happily. Maybe they should have kissed a bit more! She thought about teasing him but settled for wrapping her arm around his instead. "I think that's a good way to wrap up this game " She commented happily as she waited for the vendor to point out the slightly bigger prizes including including stuffed pipla.

"Care to claim your prize, sor?" She playfully nudged Dexurn with her hip. "Then we can spend plenty more time enjoying whatever else we can find before maybe stopping by our favorite cove for a moonlight walk on the way home."

[It was utterly tempting to give it one more try, but he felt that might push it. Best to end on a high note! Dex picked out the desired pipla and happily handed it over to his wife. "Lucky us," he mused lightly. It wasn't the full sized pipla he'd wanted to win for her, but it was close enough. Besides.. her company and smile was more than enough to compensate for his missing the whole targets. "Well, let's see what's next then. Maybe a bite to eat for energy for the walk home," he said with a grin, guiding Shade away from the vendor.
