“A folmar?” Yunan arched a brow as he studied the creature before him. It fit the descriptions that the Belreans had told him with its sharp teeth snapping at the ropes holding it back. The aggression, the wild fury was quite obvious in its narrowed gaze as its claws scratched at the stone floor in frustration. It was truly a formidable looking beast and one would perhaps be a bit unnerved by its presence but Yunan simply crouched there and studied it calmly instead. Would this be a good companion to have while he was getting more involved in the social circles of Belrean merchants and the like? If it wasn’t trying to rip out the throat of the Belrean handler then Yunan would suppose that it could look like a noble beast rather than a bloodthirsty monster. This one was a deep black with almost indigo patterns shimmering in its fur, the appearance almost silky if not for the fact that the beast was in obvious need of a bath. What Yunan enjoyed the most was the fact that it had two different colored eyes, one gold and the other a deep blue that was almost purple. It had attracted his attention in the first place and then after witnessing its wild spirit, Yunan had instantly asked about its price from the merchant.

“These folmara are hard to come by, ya know.” Offered the Geian with a small grin as he bartered with Yunan. “Most folk just avoid them but this one was lurking in local field so we had to track her down and keep her from takin’ from the farmer’s herds. Tough fight it was.”

“Mmhmm.” Yunan held out a hand and waited until the last second before pulling his fingers out of the way of the biting mouth. “I like that spirit. It’ll be fun to work with.” The folmara didn’t seem to agree as she snarled at Yunan and tugged against her restraints towards him. “I see you haven’t really kept up with her since capture?”

“No sir. Can’t really get close. Just toss in some meat since we got her a few days back.” The Geian gave a shrug, “Either way we were waitin’ on a beast tamer to try and see if they can work with her.”

“No need. I can take care of her from here.” Yunan stood up and shifted through his coin purse. “However, since you didn’t take the time to train or clean the beast I would assume that the price wouldn’t be as high as one of your trained familiars.”

“You could always get one of them instead…..”

“No, I want her.” Yunan was firm once more with his decision. The man had been trying to get him to buy any of the other familiars who were well trained and not well...feral, but Yunan was set on his choice. He would honestly pay the same price but it was best to make the man try to appease him rather than upping the price once he realized how much Yunan truly was invested in the wild creature. “It would be more fun to see what it takes to train her.” He gave a slight shrug of his shoulders, “If not I suppose I can go to someone else and see what they have. The rest are rather dull in my opinion so if you wanted a sale…”

“Fine.” The Geian grumped as he took the coin. “She wouldn’t be worth the hassle of getting a tamer anyways I ‘spose.” Moving away from the smirking hybrid, the Geian worked with another earthling to get her ropes and leash prepared. Once that was done they handed the snarling folmar to Yunan who gladly took hold of the leash. “She’s your problem now and we have no responsibilities for anything that happens.”

“Understood.” Yunan chuckled as he glanced down to the feral creature. “Don’t worry. You’ll get used to me soon enough.” He had time to train her after all. He had only been in Belrea for about half a year and still would have another year or so to go before he could even possibly think of returning to Matori. At least now he would have something fun to pass the time with. A challenge but such things always thrilled Yunan. He loved to see how he could bend such a spirit to his own will in time. He would be a firm master but he would not be cruel. His golden gaze narrowed as he thought of the dirty cage that they had kept her in. Once she learned to not bite at his hands then he would hope to never have to keep her in any cage ever again.
