Dovian stood rather awkwardly in front of the male his baby sister had just introduced to him. Of course his eyes were still slightly wide as he'd noticed his sister was rather.. large, in the belly area. Dovian might not do a lot of things but he wasn't stupid. He knew what that meant for her. And for the family. Oh what would their mother say? Had Thea told her yet? He gave a small groan.
He looked off to the side where his sister, Thea, had disappeared to after a wave of sickness hit, then looked back at the hybrid she'd brought home with her. "Annnnd.. you are who, exactly?" He lifted a hand and pointed in the direction of Thea, meaning he hadn't quite heard his sister clear when she said Rydan was her boyfriend. Or at least he hoped he'd heard wrong. "I didn't quite hear my baby sister before she ran off to get sick.." The tone alone suggested he was none-too happy.

"I am Rydan, her boyfriend." He was not ashamed of who he was to Thea, and he would stand by her side. He wouldn't hide behind niceties. The sooner they saw he was serious the better. He didn't expect a welcome wagon. Particularly not from protective brothers. "Your sister tells me that you too are a smith." Dovian looked like he would be good with fine detail work, not something all smiths could do. "What do you specialize in?" If anything. Some smiths took what came their way and others picked a niche. He hoped Thea was okay, he wished that he were the one to carry all the problems of pregnancy but unfortunately he was only the cause. His job biologically was done, but he would be there for her every step of the way.

"Ah, Rydan. And are you responsible for.." Again he pointed toward where his sister had gone. He was more so indicating the sickness she was experiencing since it went hand in hand with her condition. He certainly hope his sister hadn't gotten knocked up by someone then hooked up with someone else and brought them home. If so that would be awkward. Dovian heard the question about specializing and took a breath. "Uh, yeah.. I'm an apprentice smith.. so far I specialize in whatever my twin sister tells me to make. Usually gauntlets so she can smash people's teeth in." He did other things too. Daggers were something else he liked making. He could add details to them. Swords were requested often. He had a few side projects going as well. "By the 'too' comment that means you're one? You any good? can you support Thea and the baby?" Was it just one? His sister looked huge. How far along was she? Oh, the questions.

"Yes, the children are mine." And so would the next batch be if he had his druthers. "I made sure that I could take care of us before even thinking of being intimate yes. I am a responsible man, I make sure she eats well and that she is happy and I will continue to do so until I either take my last breath or she decides otherwise." He was firm and fair. "Babies, we are having twins." Despite himself he was starting to like Dovian. The lad had tact and still got his point across. He carefully kept the small smile from his face though as that would be inapropriate at this time. He kept glancing after were his girlfriend had gone, but she apparently wasn't going to appear for a while. He was flattered she thought he could handle it, he thought.

The children comment wasn't missed. Twins even. Dovian looked upward and issued a silent prayer to the gods. His sister was in for it now. A hand came up to rub at his face. Still, he had to admit the boy gave damned near perfect answers. Dovian wasn't the intimidating one of the family so he felt awkward doing anything threatening. So as his hand left his face he nodded his head then reached out to shake Rydan's hand. "Nice to meet you Rydan, I'm Dovian. I'm Thea's big brother. I'm also the softie of the family." He offered a smile then. Seeing as he was the soft one of the family that meant the threats would come from elsewhere. "I appreciate you making sure she's taken care of. Especially now." Again he motioned toward where his sister had gone. With a worried look to the side he lowered his voice a bit. "She get sick like that a lot?"

Rydan smiled back, "Well your alright by me Dovian. I'm sure the rest of the family will take bigger chunks out of my hide." He sighed and visually drooped. "She does get that quite a bit, especially in the morning. If you were not here I'd be rubbing her back but I'm pretty sure she wanted me to chat with you or she would have taken me by the hand. I make sure to rub her lower back at night as the twins are heavy and it makes that part of her back tense and cranky. She also uses me as her own personal pillow so I have to make sure I'm home from the forge and clean when she wants to go to bed. Honestly I kind of like the cuddling." He said wistfully. "So who do I have left to meet?"

He wasn't pleased to hear that his little sister was getting sick often but it wasnt unheard of. His mother had gotten sick when she was pregnant with Thea and Kiel. Dovian's eyes followed Rydan's. He gave a thoughtful noise then looked back at the guy. "Maybe my mother has something to help her."
To the question of who was left to meet he lifted his shoulders slightly. "There's dad, mom, Shura, and Kiel. And possibly uncle Mano and uncle Kyrian if she feels like it." the last two werent technically family but their mother accepted them as such so he didnt argue. "Don't worry though, from the sounds of it she's in good hands." Which meant everyone would like him. And despite himself he was kinda looking forward to meeting his nieces or nephews.

"I really hope she does have something to help, I know I hate throwing up, and I wish there was more I could do for her at this stage." Poor Thea, even one baby wouldn't be easy but two, well he wished he could take the load from her. He spoiled her as much as he could. "Thank you Dovian, I appreciate that. Honestly she has brought more light into my life that is was like I was seeing only in black and white before meeting her." Thea was his best friend, his soul mate and his lover. A triple threat as it were, the irony didn't miss him that there were three people all sharing her body right now. Pregnancy was such a mystical thing. "So tell me more about your home here, what is it like to live in Oba?" They might move here after all if Thea wanted to be closer to her family, Rydan thought it would be fun.

"Mom is a good cook. I'm sure she has something that can calm an upset stomach." And it was likely the older woman would know a trick or two to help with nausea. After all, she'd gone through pregnancy a time or two.
Hearing that his sister was good for Rydan made him smile. While normally he might argue that fact, saying his sister was trouble, he had to appreciate that the boy was genuinely pleased to have his sister around. It also meant he was less likely to mess it up. So Dovian just nodded his head at him.
"Oba is actually really nice. It's hot but nice. We've lived here all our lives. We have a vacation home of sorts in Matori. Mom and dad have a good house in Awat. They come to Sulburi for business. Dovian himself stayed in the big city year round because of his job. Thea usually stayed with him and so did Shura.
