Homeworld Visit Date: 07/26/2020

This would be the first time he'd ever personally brought someone with him to his homeworld. He'd been warned of course, advised that it would be more tiring to him to pull another along with him, but Namielle had been confident on this occasion that he had been there enough by now to at least land comfortable in a more hospitable part of the environment. Not that either she or Orias had ever stepped foot on the desolate planet, but she'd felt in in her 'gut'.

Thus, as he approached the time when he knew his source would welcome him 'home' once more, he had reached out to Kami with an invitation. They'd both agreed they would share their homes with one another and given he was now in the position to actually go, it was about time to reunite with the Super Senshi who had been kind enough to wail on him while he practiced his own abilities!

He didn't know what he'd find of course, Athalia had been decidedly less than impressive when he'd stumbled upon it, but he had noticed with each visit that something strange was starting to happen. He couldn't quite place it, but it was as if something had taken hold and something deep within the planet had begun to resonate.

...Not that he knew a damn thing about magical, long 'dead' planets, but still.

He'd taken a seat on the park bench as he waited for his companion to arrive. Given the evening was so mild it was a rather comfortable and relaxing spot to be in. It was a bit of a change of pace for him, but it certainly wasn't an opportunity he intended to pass up.

When Athalia had sent Kami the message, he had responded right away. He had a small break coming up and it would be the perfect time to take his mind off of his studies. After all, what better way to test one's knowledge after intense studying was not thinking about it for a little bit? If he remembered it afterwards, wouldn't that mean he had learned it?

Well, in any case he just needed a break as well.

And as soon as he could he made his way over to where his new... acquaintance? Almost-friend but-not-quite-there? would be, and he felt the other's aura before he saw the other Senshi.

Still, he waved when he saw Athalia and was secretly glad that they hadn't been interrupted. Even if the Negaverse knew nothing of their plans, there could have easily been an agent who had decided that they wanted to attack some Senshi tonight.

That hadn't happened however, and so they were free to check out Athalia's Homeworld. Kami was very eager to see it. He wanted to see just how different all of these Homeworld's and Wonders were compared to his.

"Athalia! Hope I made it in time!"

Kami as greeted with a warm smile as he came in to view and the man offered a wave in return. This evening he hadn't actually been in any rush, he'd brought a couple of supplies that he could hold in his 'pocket' (mostly water), but he hadn't been inclined to set out an itinerary for the visit. Truth be told, the senshi wasn't entirely sure how impressive his own world would even be to Kami and there was every possibility that once they arrived they'd just turn round again!

"I wasn't going to disappear without you," he reassured him and rose to his feet.

"I will warn you though, I've no idea where we're going to land when I do this," he admitted and shook his head. Each time Athalia had teleported to his source he'd ended up in a different spot. One had been somewhat uninteresting and literally nothing had happened, another had caused him to have a brief flash of something, but on each occasion it was safe to say that there was little he found impressive about the place yet.

"I haven't landed in any holes yet, but I do seem to end up in the middle of nowhere more often than not," he added and motioned for the senshi to get closer. "I haven't actually done this before with another person though so uh... This should be interesting."

He had been warned what to expect of course, but he didn't know how significantly he might be impacted by the energy drain considering his own magical handicaps!

Kami lifted an eyebrow. "Really?" He questioned. On his Homeworld there seemed to be only one place that one could land on there. Or at least he had never been taken elsewhere. Then again, if he had landed elsewhere on the side of it, it would either be on the rest of the walkable surface, or else on the slanted slides that he doubted gravity would let him stay on.

Did his Homeworld have artificial gravity...? Did all of them? Were they just used to their worlds when powered? Did they all have the gravity of Earth?

Something to think about later.

"Sounds like it will be exciting, though maybe not in the way you're thinking of." He said with a chuckle. "That's fine, I appreciate the warning. Better that than landing there and one of us only have some idea of what's going on and the other having no idea." He held out his hand. "I'm ready whenever you are!"

"Probably a good way to look at it," he admitted with a wry smile.

With very little warning the man clapped his palm on to Kami's shoulder and shut his eyes, a single, calm and otherwise deep breath was all it took before the world faded away and they lurched forward. What came next could have been close to presuming that they might have fallen into a hole, but fate had perhaps favoured them on this occasion as they had simply landed somewhere and whatever they had initially landed on had simply crumbled underneath them.

They would drop a foot at most.

His vision cleared and no sooner had he taken his first breath than he realised it didn't 'smell' quite like it had before. With a raised brow he released Kami's shoulder and took the opportunity to look around, only to be greeted by what was most definitely some sort of forest. It was safe to say that on this occasion the forest they were in wasn't exactly alive though, and whatever they had landed on might well have been an unfortunate shrub that had now been deigned little more than dust.

"Welcome to Athalia," the senshi remarked with a touch of surprise in his own voice. Clearly this was a new location for him too, and it hadn't been one he'd been expecting...

Kami yelped, not when they traveled, but when they had gotten to their destination, and instead of landing on the ground they landed on... something else. He wasn't sure what, but it was unexpected and feeling himself tumbling back without knowing onto what was enough to make him feel surprised at the very least.

After a moment of making sure that nothing was going on and they weren't in something's mouth, he felt his shoulder being released and Althalia getting up. He groaned as he moved himself off of... the shrub? Either way, his uniform was torn up for it a bit and he would have these bruises for a little bit. He hoped that they would go away in a couple of days.

He took a moment to look around after Athalia's welcome. It was... well it was something. He wasn't sure what to expect from it, but considering what Athalia's sphere was, he wouldn't be surprised if they found some fossilized beetle exoskeletons lying around somewhere. "Well, glad we made it one piece." He was surprised though, usually when a Senshi went to their Homeworld, they seemed to either land in the same place or knew where to land after going there at least once. Perhaps it was because Athalia still didn't have his powers fully under control that they had been sent to a random location?

Something to think about. "We just going to stand here or are we going to explore?" He said to the other, trying to joke a bit about the situation.

"It does have the benefit of not putting me in places that I might die," he agreed with a wry smile as he glanced this way and that. With no landmarks that would grand him any form of hint as to where they were, he could do nothing more than shrug and smirk at the other senshi.

"Seems like the only choice we have is to explore," he agreed as he turned back to face the fossilised foliage and began to stride through it. Accustomed to the crumbling masses, he seemed largely unconcerned with the smaller leaves that fell into nothing near him, nor the dust that began to cover his skirts. There was nothing to be done about it and short of them both standing still, that was the only true way to preserve these kind of things.

"Because I have no idea where we are," he called out and waved his hand for Kami to join him.

"Last few times I've been here it's dropped me near something useful," he admitted and poked his head round a tree trunk in the hopes that he might find something similar to the monoliths he had spotted before. Granted at the time they had just looked like gigantic walls at the time, but after he'd climbed them he'd discovered what they were supposed to be.

None were particularly forthcoming.

However, as they continued to walk they did manage to reach a very rare clearing, just in time to see a blaze of light shoot across the sky in the direction off to the north west. Something that caused him to raise his brow rather high, evidently another thing he'd never seen before.

"The hell was that..." he murmured.

Kami looked around him a bit more, listening to Athalia and trying to get some orientation of what type of place they were in, but for now he would just have to follow and did so after the other's hand gesture.

"Useful? You mean like a weapon or nourishment or something?" He didn't think that there would be any... insect that would be alive, he was pretty sure that while plant life was still viable on many planets, species of insects or animals were a different matter.

Though maybe bugs lived through it. After all, cockroaches were quite hardy back on Earth.

He continued to look around, wondering if he would be able to spot whatever it was that may come in handy, until he reached the clearing with the other Senshi. And he looked up just in time to see the light across the sky. When it was over he looked at the other and couldn't help but smirk. "You want to try following it? Though it may lead us into some danger, but I'm willing to take the risk."

"If there is anything to eat here I certainly haven't found it yet," Athalia admitted with a shake of his head. As intriguing any form of life would have been, he wasn't entirely sure it was possible. He'd arrived on a dead world and despite reaching heights that allowed him to see far into the unknown, it had been abundantly clear that nothing of colour seemed to lurk here... Not to mention that there was no water either.

"No weapons either," he added and pursed his lips. "But if we can find signs of life that might change," he mused. He hadn't even managed to stumble upon ruins yet. A couple of monoliths strewn across the landscape had been all he had crossed paths with and it had been by following the roots that coiled around him that he had been able to make any progress.

Well, progress in the sense that he'd realised things were linked even if he didn't know why they were or what purpose it happened to serve.

Peering up towards the sky again he did give a firm not though, he had learned rather quickly that when it came to anomalies in this place, it seemed to be advantageous to follow them.

"Following that might be a good idea," he added with a chuckle as he began to part the trees after it. "This place isn't quite like some of the other places I've heard of," he admitted and glanced over his shoulder. "You said you've been to yours, right?" he continued, electing to kick several of the leaves out of his way with enough force that they disintegrated in to dust.

"Is it any more alive than here?" he asked curiously. For all he knew, other worlds might be very different than his, and might possibly contain far more as well.

Just as dead as most of the others then. Kami thought to himself as he heard what Athalia had found at this point. It wasn't too much of a surprise. Usually the places that he had seen life were either those who had gone to their Homeworlds/Wonders much more often, usually Squires or Super and above such as himself. They certainly weren't kidding when they said that Chaos had wiped almost all life out of the Universe.

It made the whole situation a bit sad really. In a way, Earth certainly hadn't been the only planet to contain life, but it was now the only one to do so, except for the ones being worked on already.

He shrugged in response. "I think there's a bit of grass growing." He said, giving the other a small smile. "My Homeworld wouldn't have much life on it in the first place except for those who lived there. If you've ever seen a surgical-center, my Homeworld is basically a much, much larger version of it. From what I have gathered, they traveled across the universe visiting planets, most likely to perform surgeries, and then moved on. Since it's an uncontrolled comet at this point, it must have gotten caught in some gravitational pull after the residents were uh... destroyed in whatever had caused most life to cease." He hadn't been able to tell if it was sudden or over time. He needed to go to his Homeworld more often.

"Better than nothing," Athalia replied with a chuckle at the reference to grass. He wasn't entirely sure he would call the preserved plant life here 'alive' in any respect...honestly, he'd have considered himself mad if he tried. However as Kami described his own homeworld he paused in his stride and regarded the senshi with greater curiosity.

"An entire world dedicated to medicine?" he asked curiously. Perhaps he had misheard it, but the description had given him pause for thought. It was a very nuanced thing to pick as a specialisation and yet an entire world had done so. So far in to the past this might well have made them particularly impressive and well respected, or at least he would have assumed it did among their allies.

"I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume it looks a little haunting," he added.

He didn't pause for too long though, continuing to walk and talk at the same time. Given they had limited time on this planet, he'd much prefer to at least make some progress and it appeared that bringing an ally may have actually caused this place to pay attention to him.

Determination would pay off though as it wasn't long before they were cutting through denser 'jungle' and finally broke through to reveal the caldera that lay beyond, and the rather monumental drop at their feet. While impressive in itself, it was what lay within it that made the senshi raise an eyebrow - two pyramids, one standing tall and the other seemed to have fallen on its side.

Kami chuckled. "Yeah, it's like something out of a video game. You know, one of those horror ones in space. I just haven't encountered any aliens or monsters... yet." He hoped he wouldn't have to, but he still had much of his asteroid to explore.

He followed Athalia in silence for the meantime. There wasn't really a point in talking right now. They needed to concentrate, not be distracted by chatter. And well, even if Athalia said nothing was alive on this planet, Kami wasn't sure if that was always the case and was wary that something might go out of its way to attack them.

Athalia stopped suddenly though and Kami followed suit, looking at what was ahead of them. "Well that's certainly something." He said, taking a step closer but making sure that he wouldn't go over the edge, kneeling a little. "Can't say anything like that is on my Homeworld." How one of the pyramids had fallen on its side... it couldn't have been to natural causes. "I doubt that the weather made that pyramid fall if it's still here. Something had to happen to it. And something that had a lot of strength." Of course he didn't know if it was a machine or something that was alive, but he was pretty sure that position for that pyramid was not supposed to be that at least.

"Either that or they liked to do odd things when I was a native," Athalia replied with a shake of his head. There didn't seem to be a huge degree of destruction around where the pyramid had been lumped on its side, but given this had likely sat here for eons by now, it was rather believable that some of the damage had long since repaired itself, replaced by what little foliage had groan here before it had become nothing more than clay.

"Would much prefer that they liked things odd, if I'm honest," he added and gave a beckoning nod.

He was confident that nothing was here, with no food or water to be found it seemed extremely unlikely that anything could survive here. Then again, several months ago he hadn't believe himself capable of magic and yet here he was. All things considered, Kami probably had good reason to be concerned even if Athalia sincerely doubted that anything remained.

"That being said I'm not entirely sure pyramids really scream of developed, medical centre of excellence," he pointed out with a wry smile. "Creepy, haunted medical facility planet does seem to suit it much better," he admitted. He genuinely was curious about that one, even more so to see if Kami could uncover any old technology that could have given a hint as to how advanced some of them were.

Heh, imagine what they could do with that tech now!

"We might as well take a look and see if we can't get the door open on the one that's the right way up," he shrugged and began to slide down the slope. Whether or not they could get inside was another matter entirely and for all he knew, maybe the fallen pyramid was the correct one and the one the 'right' way up was incorrect.

...At this point it was unlikely anything would surprise him.

Kami couldn't tell if Athalia was making a jab at his Homeworld or not but decided to take it in stride. "Honestly this would make a good picture if we had brought cameras." He was pretty sure that even if anyone did distribute pictures of Homeworlds or Wonders on the internet, either the magic would be lost to anyone who wasn't a powered individual, or they would go with photoshopping.

Still, unless it was on their database, they couldn't really post it anyway in case some Agent recognized it. How they would get to wherever it was wasn't much of a problem, but one didn't want to go around advertising the place they were named after.

"There's a lot of tech, but no way to power it at this time. And even if there was, I'm not sure it would be usable at this point. If what I've heard about any of this is true, then most likely I'll never even learn how to read whatever language there was, if there was any. From what I can tell, most of it is probably hidden away on some sort of dead alien server or something." There were some medical books, basic ones with what appeared to be lots and lots of words that he couldn't read, some with more pictures on some procedures including ones with organs he didn't recognize.

"Right behind you." He said following after Athalia and moving down the slope. "Just hope that we don't get any brain-eating bugs or anything up our shoes. Though you're more at risk for that." Though if the remake of The Mummy movies had taught Kami anything, it was that a shoe sole would not make a bit of difference.

"Fair observation, it could probably go on one of those sites," he mused. In the grand scheme of things Athalia wasn't exactly reliable for surfing the web. He knew where to get various things and he wasn't a complete luddite, but when it came to the more nuanced subjects and websites he was at a bit of a loss. He relied on Namielle for that, the Mauvian had become a font of knowledge for all things digital and in the end he'd even learned a thing or two.

...Whether branching out into photography and posting it online would be a new hobby though? Safe to say that only time would tell.

He was much more interested in Kami's description of his own homeworld as he slide down the slope towards the pyramid and eventually reached the gate. A world filled with technology that didn't work wasn't entirely surprising given the desolation he'd found on his own, but when it came to the rest of it, it was intriguing. Books still existed, written word still existed, and yet Kami hadn't yet worked out how to read them.

"Maybe in time it'll come to you, eh?" he pursed his lips as he gazed up at the rather large door and had to wonder if his own kind had enjoyed over compensating or if they had literally been that tall...

"Or at the very least something might power on and give you an idea," he shrugged, placing his hands on his hips. "Could save someone's life with the details one day," he admitted and finally cracked a smile at Kami's reference to bugs. He may not have been big on pop culture but he was aware of that particular movie and it was rather apt in these particular moments.

"Don't suppose your magic would have the ability to stab it out of us if we had any unwelcome visitors?" he hazarded.

He was confident though, there was likely no way that anything could survive here, if there was anything living here outside of both he and Kami, then the senshi would be truly flabbergasted.
