As it happened, Nix had gotten to the address a couple minutes beforehand, so when the new senshi arrived, he was treated to the view of a boy in a bodysuit doing a one-handed handstand...directly on the edge of the roof.

He waved with his free hand. "Heya!" he called out, and vaulted himself up, and back to his froggy feet with a soft thump.

Was he showing off? Maybe. "I'm Nix! Nice to meet ya!"

Nix snickered at the reaction to his little stunt, and then shrugged. "Eh, yeah, everybody does. You can think of it as your," he paused a brief moment to pose dramatically, with one hand outstretched, like Buzz Lightyear in a meme, "Cool superhero name!" He dropped his hand and stood more normally again.

"At least, it's easier than trying to keep track. And in a way, when you're powered up like this, it is your name." He scratched his cheek as he considered. "Sort of. If you really wanna know, though, my name's Toby."

Nix snorted at 'Nixby,' and offered his hand to shake. "Maybe I'll call you Monyan, then!" He may have slightly emphasized 'nyan' when he spoke...or perhaps that was just imagined...

"How long have you been a senshi? Done anything cool yet?"

"Oh wow, brand new!" Nix replied with a grin and a thumbs up. "Cool! Welcome to the wider, weirder world, then..." He glanced back toward the edge of the building. "And you can consider getting up here your first lesson: We're way stronger and faster than normal, and can jump a lot higher."

He gestured back to where he'd been doing his hand stand. "Like that thing I was doing when you got here? It's really just balance...with a little practice you could do it too, if you wanted." He left unsaid, but I don't have a skirt.

"You can still get tired, but jumping and running is definitely less effort than it is usually..." Nix replied with a shrug. "That's why training's good! Gets you used to it!" And more fit, too, but he left that out.

"Have you...used your magic at all?"

"Well, that's a good start," Nix replied with a nod. "But everybody's magic's different, so no amount of reading will do. You just gotta, uh, do it."

"Do you know what it does?" He asked immediately. "We should give it a try, figure out the best way to use it, what ever it is."

Nix knew it was a reference of some kind, but didn't recognize it, so he just pressed on. "Mm, yeah, that's a reasonable guess. You should be able to just know how to use your magic."

He shrugged. "It's a bit weird, but the knowledge is there, somehow. Most of the time, it's got a name, you call it out, and stuff happens. For me, I," he paused a moment, looked around, and settled his vision on a big AC unit that was somewhat nearby. "stick my tongue out..."

He leaned forward and stuck his tongue out, and simultaneously, a much bigger...longer, and a bit ethereal and glowing...tongue launched in front of him. It impacted with the AC unit with a metallic thunk, and the senshi lifted into the air, as if yanked along by the tongue. A moment later, he was holding onto the AC, and the tongue was gone.

"And off I go!" he shouted back.
