User Image Draven had departed from Homewood after stepping away from Sicily so that she could catch up with friends and have some Doe time. He had somewhere to be, with his packs and Bluebell in her favorite perch the grey buck started. It was time to take another trip to the Tree. He had come to a point where his magics could only so much and he was looking to get more out of them. Sure sprouting things and pulling sap from trees to help with bandages was fine, but there was more he wanted out of it. So Jaw set in an ever stone feature, neither frown or smile, he rarely showed such emotions when he is away from the one whom completed him. As it was this was something that he had to do a lone. There would come a time that Sicily will feel the pull to return to the tree herself.

"That time again is it?" Bluebell asked as she peer over her own shoulder to glance at the back of Draven's head.

"That it is. That ever pull to advance is there. These months with Sicily has gotten me to thinking that an upgrade in magic would be helpful." He commented not looking back, his pace steady. "You could have stayed with her, you know. You don't have to follow me everywhere I go."

Bluebell only snorted as she thumped a foot on his rump. There was little chance that he would leave her behind with the doe. Sure she had had some kids of her own, but they grew fast and were out of her fur. Shaking her head she grinned to herself more then anyone else.

"And let you stumble around the Barrens heading back to that tree of yours? What fun would that be?"

Draven gave a chuckle of his own before he shook his own head. Of course she wouldn't leave him to his own devices, that would be the worst thing to do. Not that he would really run off and leave Sicily alone again. He had just found her and he wasn't going to let her go again. Turning his head upwards slightly, he watched as the stretch f white branches came into sight. They were almost there and it was almost time. With the sun beating down on the both of them, Draven once more shed his gear to one side. Bluebell taking her spot to guard it. Draven himself went to the tree and stared up at the immense white tree with admiration, but there was the need to be helpful for his mate, no matter where they went.

Draven had always one for seeing new places, visiting different sites to see what they were about. When the tree vanished to his vision quest, the snow and cold was all together different. The wind blew into his face and caused his coat to twitch against the chill. Dark blue eyes glanced around at the snow covered landscape. The peaks of other mountain tops peeked out through the clouds that gathered around them like mist through trees. Taking a look towards the skies, they were indeed blue... For the time being... But with the gathering clouds scant feet over his head called for something more.

"Those aren't clouds I want to be caught out in." He muttered peering through the growing haze, the steam from his break coming in cloudy puffs. "Shelter would be prudent in these situations."

A cool head and calmer temper, though with riled, Draven always had a bite to his bark, as it were. Stepping through the knee high snow, each crunch was followed by a shock of cold. It was almost like it was getting colder with each step. Shaking himself, trying to bring warmth to his numbed skin. It was ok that he wasn't feeling the cold so much, but bad that he couldn't feel much else either. Another gust of wind blew snow into his face as Draven stopped and looked around. He would have to go lower, the peek in which he was bare of everything but snow.

"I have been through worse. The barrens are the complete opposite to this. And I have been traveling there for a lot longer then I want to remember." Draven said as if it were to make himself feel better.

He did wish he had his gear, but he wasn't going to will it into this vision, that would have made things simple. No, this was to show that he had grown and was willing to grow even more. He wasn't about to cheat, Sicily would have been upset with him. Then again, Draven was never the cheating kind, always taking the long way round...

Progressing down the peek, sliding some in the snow at points. It was a slow process and the clouds were growing quicker by the second. Already the air was getting colder and it was making things harder to move. He'd be damned to die here on this mountain. Tumbling slightly as he came to a small over hang, Draven glanced around. A cave laid behind him, damp and cold it looked, but it was better then nothing he supposed... Stepping into the cave, hooves clattering against the stone as they rang like bells through the hollow. What sort of cave was this? Ice hung from the ceiling and dripped everywhere. That slow, drip drip drip.

"Well this is fortunate, maybe a little unfortunate. If I can't get warm, this will be the end of things." Draven said as he looked around he cave as if it were to hold the answers...

Well it did have one answer, at the back an old nest of leaves, moss and bark laid. Something had lived here at one time, whatever it had been... It was huge. Frowning, Draven didn't ponder what sort of creature had lived here, he started pulling bits of the nest apart for the bits. When he had the dried moss and leave in a pile he looked around still. He had his tinder, but not really any ways to light it. Already he could hear the howl of the wind outside the cave, the storm had gotten to him. Darkness flooded his shelter like the decay the Others had left.

He paced backwards a couple of steps before a couple stones skittered across the floor. One leaving sparks in its wake. Tilting his head, he wished at times he had a different gift then Botanic, but he had to play with the hand he was dealt. Using his tail he pulled the stones closer, taking one in his mouth, the other he held firm beneath a hoof. He wasn't sure if this was going to work, but it would be something to say the very least. Reaching down, one strike caused a couple sparks to sprout up. That was something!

Nosing the stones closer to his pile of tinder, he started striking the stones until a small flame grew. He added more tinder to the pile until there was enough light to see. He went back to the nest and started pulling larger pieces of wood from its structure. It was well and dry, even if everything else was damp. A large flame raged where there was none and warmth flooded the shelter and drove the cold back to where it had come. It was a start, but he had more to do, before the storm got any worse when it already was.

The opening to the cave was wide open, he had to make something to close part of that off. To block the wind from blowing out his fire and plunging him once more into darkness. Exploring the cave further he found what he could only imagine to be large branches, perhaps things that whatever lived here before had gathered them from below.

"Far be it for me to let things go to waste." Was his only comment as he started weaving the branches together. Does work he had once been told, weaving things together, but in times when no one else was around. He had to do something and this was something Draven found relaxing. Even in the blizzard that raged outside his shelter. After what seemed like hours, Draven heaved his weaving into place to block out the most of the wind. There was still space for air to flow, but it was comforting to know his fire wouldn't be in danger.

"Tomorrow, weather permitting, Seek out a food source." He wouldn't let this beat him down, of all the places he had been to. This wasn't going to get to him, no matter the difficulties.
