Beethoven was out of practice. He'd never admit it, he'd sooner stick his arm into fresh manure than do that, but he had to concede that finding ways to take energy without getting into some kind of situation was hard. For the first time in his life he'd let himself fall behind in something and, well, he was starting to get a little upset with himself about it. You know, not "rage into the mirror about his flaws" level upset, but just enough internal criticism to, potentially, end up doing something he'd regret.
The park was his first thought. It was a beautiful summer day, a bit humid, but surely there'd be swarms of people wandering about trying to enjoy it? He could hide in the shade, catch a few people off guard, and finally get the weight of his self-imposed failure off of his back. It would be easier than planting a row of tulip bulbs.
He'd only just arrived and assumed his position beneath the shadow of an oak when a trio of prime targets came into view. Three elementary-aged children, walking along the path at just the perfect distance away from the rest of the park that they'd barely be heard. He hopped out without a second thought.
"Didn't your parents teach you to mind where you step?" He said, quickly moving to try and close the distance between them. "You might find yourself walking right into a trap!"

Lepus wasn’t normally active during the day for a multitude of reasons. While it was summer vacation, she just tended to be busy during the day; usually, she was just hanging out with her Mauvian companion, the two taking advantage of the new civilian glamour to do more than they could with Etoile just as a kitten. There was, however also the more personal stuff with her family, like all the stuff they tried signing her up for in their ongoing attempts at getting her to act more like a proper lady, but Lepus was really good at weaseling her way out of that. In any case, today was one of those rare exceptions, and Lepus had been hanging out in the park as well, keeping an eye out for any injustices occurring, because she... she was a protector of justice and totally wasn’t just hoping for an opportunity to beat up a baddie or anything. It was a humid summer day, and she was kind of dying a little dealing with it, but Justice Never Sleeps... or something like that. Well, she’d brought a water bottle and a parasol to at least try and keep cool, while she kept a look out. Fortunately, Lepus didn’t have to wait much longer for Bad Things to be occurring. The unmistakable aura of Chaos caught her attention, and Lepus sprung into action to find, well, a corrupt senshi about to terrorize some little kids. Ugh, even if it was just probably energy draining, some crimes were simply inexcusable, especially when it came to kids! Even though she was in high school now, Lepus was still a chibi senshi in name (and maybe ‘at heart’ or something like that), and she liked to look out for the little people, for her potential fellow chibi senshi. “Halt right there, you fiendish villain!” Lepus called out, aiming to put an end to this before anything disastrous could happen.

Beethoven turned on a dime as soon as Lepus called out and grimaced. Fantastic, just fantastic! He’d only just arrived and, lo and behold, a senshi appeared to interrupt him! ... But something was off about this one. They were definitely more childlike than the last one he’d encountered. Also, what was up with that atrocious hat? The corrupt shook his head. No, Beethoven, this was not the time to rate your opponent’s fashion sense.
He stepped toward Lepus, fully taking his attention off of the trio of children, and sneered as he heard them flee back down the path. There was no doubt in his mind that they’d go and warn everyone else at the park, completely ruining his chances of harvesting energy for the day. No matter, though. He had a meddling senshi to kick around instead.
”Me? Halt?” He scoffed, moving to brush his bangs out of his eye. ”You’re the one who’ll be begging for mercy in a moment! Nettle Vine!”
He watched as a green beam of light appeared near Lepus and took the form of a nettle vine. With any luck this battle would be over quickly and he think of somewhere else to harvest energy from before the end of the day.Merurulince Nettle VineBeethoven faces an opponent and calls out his attack. A beam of green light coils up from the ground near the opponent, takes the form of a nettle vine, and strikes out, grabbing them in some way. (By the limbs, around the waist, etc) The light disappears a second or two after contact, but any exposed skin it touched may start to itch or sting. Uses: 3 Range: The coils can strike within 5 feet of a foe. Duration: 30 seconds

Lepus hadn't really anticipated this ending without a fight involved, and indeed, it seemed that the corrupt was none too happy that she had interrupted his energy harvesting attempts. It was, perhaps, not the best of ideas to be fighting out in broad daylight like this, but no one ever said Lepus was really one for coming up with good ideas, or any sort of game plan in general. In fact, it could have been said that a situation such as this was perfect for a reckless idiot such as Lepus. And then he shot magical vines at her. The magical nettle vines caught Lepus by her arms, temporarily stopping her in her place. They didn't last long before dissipating, but there was a lingering feeling of itchiness, and a slight stinging, something akin to a bug bite, maybe, on the upper parts of her arms where her gloves didn't cover. Still, if he though she was going to be deterred by this, he had another thing coming! "Some itchy vines won't stop me!" Lepus declared, doing her best to resist the urge to scratch at her arms (not that it'd do any good with gloves on), " This way!" Now you saw her, now you... did, again! Double vision? Quote: Super Sailor Scout Attack: This way! Much like the first attack, Lepus tricks her opponents into chasing after a fake Lepus. This time, however, there's two of her- who go running into opposite directions; no matter which one her opponents choose to chase after, the two fake Lepus will ultimately meet back up with each other and merge into one Lepus, which then turns into a bunny that disappears, once her opponents get close enough, leaving her opponents confused and possibly disoriented. This lasts for thirty seconds, and can be used twice.

If Lepus were a reckless idiot, then Beethoven was the court jester. After witnessing that his vines had, indeed, caught his young opponent by both of her arms, he'd stopped dead in his tracks and started to grin like a hapless moron. He'd never seen them catch both of someone's limbs like that before! It had to be a sign of his strength, no, a sign of his obvious superiority! His powers were amazing! He was incredible, he was magnificent, he was-
- Getting confused.
"Wha-" He stammered, watching as Lepus suddenly doubled and darted off in two directions. Seriously? That was such a cartoonish little trick! Still, he fell for it hook, line, and sinker, and took off to the left after one of the fake Lepus. "You think you can escape? Not on my watch, brat!"

This was great. Actually, it was more than great- it was awesome. It was always fun to watch her enemies get duped into chasing the decoys, but in this case, Lepus found it doubly fun to watch this time around because she considered this a form of petty revenge for the itchy vines. Well, that, and trying to drain energy from kids, too. Normally, Lepus didn't have a need to use her magic more than once, because they either gave up after that, or, in the case of the small fry youma, they ran into something hard enough to be dusted. In this case, though, Lepus was having a bit too much fun to not taunt Beethoven a little further... but no, she would have to resist for the time being. First, she wanted to see how this played out. 'Catch me if you can!'

Oh, believe him, Beethoven was doing everything in his power to try and keep up with the fake Lepus. If there were anything he could try to blame his sluggishness on, it was the fact that his fuku was, quite literally, a three piece suit that gave him little to no relief from the heat. Beethoven was already sweating just from waiting behind the tree earlier, but now he may as well have thrown himself into a pond. He found himself stopping every few strides just to shove his bangs back out of his face to keep them from sticking to his forehead. This, of course, made him more and more confused and immensely pissed off.
It was becoming increasingly apparent that he wasn't going to be able to keep up with this little rabbit senshi. It was also, equally, as apparent that he was going to incredibly miserable if he didn't stop trying. However, being the kind of dumb b*****d man that he was, he didn't stop. He continued the loop of chasing, stopping to move his hair, chasing, and adjusting his collar, until-
SMACK!
Beethoven recoiled from the tree he'd slammed himself into and fumbled backward with a hand on his forehead. Ow, ow, ow, OW. That was going to leave one hell of bruise for him to deal with later! He sneered, clenching his jaw, and peered around for Lepus. He couldn't see her. Which way had she gone off to now?

"Hah!" Lepus couldn't help but gloat from a (respectively safe) distance, "That's what you get for trying to pick on little kids! You deserve that, I'd say." Did the corrupt, perhaps, learn his lesson? Probably not, but that was what Lepus were here for. She had, at least, gotten her own petty revenge for the time being for the earlier incident with the vines, at least, which was a win in her book. The kids from before had already ran off at the start of it all, so that was taken care of, but if she could keep him from going after anyone else, that'd be even better! Justice never rests, or something like that.
