Aishan Prompts
Future Considerations Aishan-only Prompt Closes 7.20.20
Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7
Prompt Much had changed since the seeds were sown islands away. The sisters of Chibale kept communication with Chiume, excited to hear that Azehra was growing strong in Belrea. Many extremist sisters also communicated with Kiros, some even traveling to the new island to protect Esena. While strained, the relationship between the two had a common goal in protecting the seed of Elzira. Overall, it seemed that the new cousin trees continued to improve Aishan relations.
But still there was the big question on if the relationship between Chibale and the extremists could be mended. The sisters who held the strongest grunges from the war were growing older, and a new generation was forming with their own opinions. Curiosity outweighed anger and an interesting rumor was spreading around all four Aishan settlements.
It seemed that the young mystics were being encouraged to hold a summit somewhere in neutral grounds. No one knew exactly what the goal was, but many could speculate that a peace treaty might be in the works. The question is, would it happen considering their history?
[ Rumors are spreading that the leaders of Chibale and Zinris are considering peace. What are your thoughts on these rumors? Do you believe them? Do you think they can happen? Explore the past feelings and how your character feels about a future of Aishan peace. ]

Niabi had been in the town that morning, looking for some fruits at their local marketplace and she could hear the chatter around her. Most of her Sisters were hearing the rumors, the gossip mill running amok. They had planted the new Mother Trees on the other continents and they were doing well from what Niabi had heard, but there was something else now as well.
The extremists and elaria to the south and the words peace continued to be intermingled in conversation. Niabi didn't know what to believe, but it was an interesting topic. She reached for a ripe looking fruit at one of the stalls and mulled over her choices.

For Vermina, the rumors of peace with the extremists was quite potent on her heart. After all these years, she still had never been able to find out if her mother, Pil, had made it to Zinris with the other extremists. It remained a source of repressed sadness. If Pil had made it to Zinris, had enough time passed that she would have passed on as well to make way for that Elarian generation?
It was a long minute before she realized she had gotten lost in thought, a soft brown fabric forgotten in her grasp. The vendor was giving her a confused look, which earned a quick apology and moving on. "Peace with Zinris.." she murmured out loud without realizing it, picking up a fruit with a contemplative look.

Niabi had heard a Sister murmur something standing next to her at the fruit stall. "Sorry, did you say something?" She asked the girl. She didn't think she had ever met this Sister, but Niabi had been secluded for quite a while so it didn't surprise her.
She looked younger than Niabi, but most of the Sisters did to her now-a-days. She thought she had heard the girl say something about Zinris, but she couldn't be sure. Was this alkidike thinking about the same things that Niabi had lingering on her brain that morning?

Vermina idly turned her head to look toward whomever was talking, brow rising with surprise to see she had someone's attention. "Me? Did I?" Had she said something? What was it? What had she been thinking about again? Oh, right. Zinris and her mother. She couldn't help an amused chuckle. That was a rather deep subject to forget so quickly. "My apologies. I must have been thinking out loud." She was about to leave it at that, but perhaps this sister had some information? "I was just thinking.. about all this talk of seeking cooperation with the Elarian cousins and the exiled Alkidike. It's quite.. surprising, isn't it?"

Niabi nodded her head, chewing on her lip as she listened to the Sister speak. She had heard the rumors but was unsure what to make of them. Trust wasn't really a strong suit of hers when it came to the elaria and their exiled mothers. "Yes... I had heard something about it. Surprised is one way to put it." She offered at first, crossing her arms.
"I've only heard the gist of things, but I'm not quite sure if we should just accept their words as pure." She raised an eyebrow, wondering if the other alkidike felt the same.

"Perhaps 'surprised' was something of an understatement," she mused back, attention shifting away. "I remember when they were exiled from here. It is.. difficult.. to believe they have changed their ways since then." She looked back to the other Alkidike and sighed. "I want to believe in them, but the worst is that we simply do not know what they are thinking. How would we be able to tell they truly desire peace?"

Niabi nodded as the Sister spoke. ”I don’t believe that I could have said it any better.” She agreed with her and was relieved to hear that she felt the same way. Peace seemed so far out of reach with the Elaria, it was odd to hear that they wanted it now. ”I don’t believe it to be true, if I’m to be honest. I was there when they were exiled, and I can’t imagine the feelings have just disappeared or been forgotten.” She elaborated.
She didn’t know much about the state of the world lately, she had secluded herself for years on this island, but if there was something she felt she could be sure of it would be the stubbornness and hatred that the exiled Alkidike felt. And she could only imagine it would be passed onto their children. ”Did you lose anyone in the split?” she asked before quickly adding, ”I don’t mean to pry, you don’t have to answer if you’d rather not.”

The relief was shared, Vermina feeling herself relax further with the approving tone her opinion brought. "It is a difficult subject among the sisters. Some simply believe in the change while others are dead-set on denying any possibility. I suppose it is a comfort to have a steadfast opinion as opposed to the uncertainty of this gray area we see." Cheeks flushing slightly, she did indeed consider keeping the history to herself.. but what was the point. "Many were lost. It is difficult to find someone of age who did not experience loss... It was my mother. She was one of those exiled." She sighed softly and shook her head. "I truly do not see her changing her mind about peace, unless Yael is a place of miracles..."

She felt her heart hurt for the other alkidike when she announced that it was her mother that left. How awful to lose a mother. She couldn’t just assume that they had been close, not everyone was, but it seemed to be a difficult area for the girl. Niabi couldn’t imagine losing her own mothers. She was lucky enough that she didn’t lose anyone close to herself when the exiled left, but she was misfortunate enough to not really be close to anyone to begin with, not after she lost her mentor.
”Yes,” she replied with a frown, ”I don’t believe in miracles myself, but I’m sorry you had to lose your mother.”

Vermina managed to give her companion a weak smile and shook her head. "As am I... but I have my aunt. She raised me in my mother's stead." She paused briefly, giving a cautiously contemplative look to the side. "To be honest, I feel as though I have probably had more fulfilling life than I would have otherwise." Surely that was blasphemous to say.. but it really was true. The amount of hate in that woman... "I suppose she is why I want to believe so much in the rumored peace. If she has finally seen the error of the extreme ways, then I might see her again, and my aunt would get her sister back." If there was to be no peace though... it would be better for her mother to maintain her distance. "All this not knowing is eating me up," she huffed heavily.

Niabi could understand the sentiment from the other alkidike, even if she didn’t have any stakes in the rumors of peace. If they were serious, then it would be a great thing she supposed, but it wouldn’t make a difference in her life either way. For this alkidike though, it would be a shot at reuniting a part of her family.
She nodded her head as the other alkidike spoke, ”Yes, the uncertainty of all of it is worrisome. But I believe things will happen as they’re meant to happen. So if it’s any consolation I believe you were meant to be raised by your aunt, and if peace is true then I also believe that your mother will be better for it.” She hoped it was comforting to hear it. It may not work out that way, but whatever way the future shakes out is what it was meant to be. If peace was not true, then she also believed that it would cause a new chapter in Alkidike history, possibly in the form of another war and more violence.

Again, relief flowed through Vermina with the acceptance of her opinion, and the reassurance made her smile warm a little more. "I appreciate that, thank you. Despite the darkness of losing my mother, I truly am happy under my aunt's care. Surely Aisha had a hand in guiding that path." If her mother was part of those moving for peace... Of course, peace with her mother will only matter if she is alive... and that was a subject just as questionable as the proposed peace! Vermina blushed lightly and waved her hand. "My apologies. I do not mean to just dump my troubles on you. And I have not even introduced myself! I am Vermina."

”I’m sure you’re right, She watches over all of her children still.” Niabi offered a reassuring hand to Vermina’s shoulder. ”It was nice to meet you. I’m Niabi.” She completed the introductions with a smile.
Her conversation with Vermina had her realizing just how alone she was lately, and perhaps now after all this time she was ready to leave Chibale again. It was something she would have to think on, but perhaps traveling was in her future.
”Thank you for the conversation. It was a nice break in the day.” She smiled to the girl.

"Niabi," Vermina nodded and smiled back. "It was a pleasure to meet you, too. I appreciate the time you have given me." There was something relieving about talking to a new set of ears about old problems. Aisha knew she had discussed it ad nauseum with her aunt. Speaking of which, perhaps she should pick up a little something special for the elder Alkidike. With these rumors bouncing around, surely her aunt was having torn feelings of her own and could use a little comfort as well.
