Fire took a breath and steadied herself. She didn't spend much time investigating this strange, imposing but secretive pack. Only enough to become aware of their value of battle. Enough to instruct Vahagn to keep his distance, away from the threat of discovery. She wasn't particularly curious about these wolves. She had no interest in joining their ranks or anything of the sort. The she-wolf wasn't drawn here by the prospect of a new home.

She was drawn here by the prospect of battle.

How long had it been since she had battled another wolf? Too long. And her last opponent...

Fire looked to the opponent before her now. A bulking berserker she-wolf. A stranger, but a familiar one. The feeling of preparing herself for a fight with a berserker she-wolf... The familiarity of it made her blood rush. Her muscles tense.

Before she knew it, she was lunging, fangs bared and a snarl emerging from deep within her.

Wolfsbane had a toothy grin plastered to her face as she readied herself. This pack wasn't her home, but it didn't feel too unfamiliar. There was something in her blood that settled her, here.

This was her father's pack.

She hadn't made an effort to seek her out between her arrival and the beginning of her duel. She wasn't going to be a needy daughter seeking the admiration of daddy dearest. No, she was going to gain that admiration by force.

She was going to prove herself.

The direwolf before her struck suddenly and had caught her off guard. The berserker ducked low as her opponent struck, missing claw and fang of her opponent. Attempting to position herself beneath Fire's center of gravity, Wolfsbane bucked herself upwards in an attempt to use her size to her advantage and toss the smaller wolf off balance.

The defensive maneuver of her opponent caught her off guard and Fire found herself forced to realized that her opponent was not the wolf she had associated her with. This was not Stormsinger, and she couldn't expect her to fight the same way.

The direwolf was bucked from below and tossed to the side. The impact against her ribs sent a wave of pain through her body that she knew she was going to feel for a few days. But now wasn't the time to dwell on that.

There was work to be done.

Fire tucked her legs beneath her, minimizing the amount of time she spent exposed. The berserker was larger. Bulkier. She was playing it low to the ground. She'd strike low too, then.

Moving as quickly as she could, Fire struck forwards once more, bared fangs aimed towards the berserker's legs.

The berserker felt a wave of triumph was through her as she felt the weight of her opponent as she was tossed. Was this going to be easier than she thought? Wolfsbane wouldn't be surprised. It was in her blood, after all.

She turned to strike at the fallen wolf, but not quickly enough. By the time she was once again facing the direwolf, the other was already jumping towards her. There was a sting of pain as she felt fangs break the skin of her foreleg.

Reluctant to pull away Wolfsbane instead tucked low, butting her head towards the side on which Fire had fallen, intending to hit the sore spot and get the wolf off of her.

The swing of her opponents head, if anything, made Fire bear down and commit to her assault. She released Wolfsbane's leg from her fangs and instead butt her head towards where her opponent's was.

Her opponent was using her strength to her advantage, and it sparked a fury within her. A deep, pent-up rage was kindled and she grit her teeth through her pain, thrashing against the larger wolf, seemingly numb to the ache in her body.

Wolfsbane had size and strength on her side. In her home, there were few of her kind. Perhaps it was for these reasons that she hadn't expected this direwolf to act with such blatant disregard to her obvious advantages.

But here were were.

There was a flash of pain in the side of her head as the smaller wolf headbutted her there and she reared away, taking advantage of the release of her leg from her opponent's jaws to at least get some distance. A tactician would take the moment to regain her composure and strike again. But in Wolfsbane's mind, only a weak wolf would need to step away from the fray

She wasn't a runner. Wolfsbane would sooner drive herself into the ground than admit fault in her brute strength tactics.

So instead she jumped forward again, taking little to no time to shake the dizziness from her head. This time she took the higher route, leaping towards the direwolf in an attempt to pin her down.

Fire wasn't thickheaded enough to expect to be able to meet an in-air strike from a larger wolf and come out on top, so she made no attempt to strike directly at Wolfsbane as the latter lunged towards her. Instead, the direwolf jolted to the side.

The strike of the large wolf made some impact. Enough to shake her footing, but not enough to knock her down. Finding herself with perhaps superior footing Fire struck forward, once more aiming towards her opponent's legs. She had done damage there already, so her best chances seemed to be to strike there again.
