Cody walked up to the ranch main house, he knew that there was the main house where it had many bedrooms. He looked over and saw the remodeled barn where many of the pokemon stayed of many if the types. He saw the pond, the grassy field, the stony area with boulders and a few other for the different types of pokemon. Thats when he noticed a woman about the same age as him, "Hey, have you seen an older woman around? A miss... wait a minute, Violet? Is that you?" He asked curiously to her, as he picked out her facial structure and hair color since he always teased her a bit about it. He wasnt trying to be mean back then to his childhood crush but when he left, he figured she would find other friends.

Cody nodded as she spoke but thought it over, "Yeah but my father kind of settled somewhere else... i continued traveling but then granny contacted me and asked me to return. She said she wasnt feeling well and I felt that i should come visit." He said as he wasnt heartless and he did send back money and any spare items like spare potions and antidotes he found over his course as a trainer. Item supplies were sometimes hard to come by depending on the season so being able to send some helped the ranch. He may not have been around but he didnt forget about the place. He sighed some however, "I dont know why she asked me to come however... I mean, I get the feeling she is going to ask me to take over but I dont want to take over... Id rather be a trainer." He said softly as he thought it over.

Cody followed her and looked around, the main house looked like it had some work done on it since hes been gone. He didnt remember much of the stuff but he saw pictures from the past and how he had been there. He didnt have many pokemon back then, he hadnt found any to catch til he got Piplup on his journey to be a trainer, his first caught pokemon. He walked into his grandmother's room and saw that Violet left but he spoke with his grandmother, "Hey dear, come closer." She said softly as he went and sat by her, she smiled, "Im happy you did come, and i know you have dreams that are big and wonderful. However, I know that the ranch seems nothing to you compared to the glory you seek from winning the champion. Now dear, your father left believing the same but he turned his back to the ranch. I wanted to thank you for the supplies you sent back but we need help, personal aid, not supplies." She informed as he sighed, "Maw Maw, I dont see why working at the ranch is worth my time, I mean, I love the ranch and would do anything for you but by becoming a well known trainer, I can bring more knowledge of the ranch to those outside our area." He stated as she shook her head, sighing softly, "Dear little Cody, I cant do much anymore and the only one able to get much of the work done is Young Violet and she needs help." She said as she looked at him, "Promise me this, stay for a few weeks, see if you will enjoy the time here." She said as he wanted to argue as a big tournament was coming in two weeks and he would need to travel but he nodded as he promised, "Yes Maw Maw." He said as he would gently kiss her cheek and hug her as he got up and went to head outside.

He sighed as he pulled out his pokeballs, "Guess we are here for a while gang." He said as he let out Empoleon, Metagross, Golisopod, Salazzle, Alolan Sandslash, and a Boltund. He looked at his team, "Alright Gang, so we are going to stay here a while... unfortunately which means we are going to miss the tournament. However I cant disappoint family, so even though its just a minor set back, im sure we will get another chance, but for now, stretch your legs and explore alright." He said as his pokemon nodded and went off. Empoleon and Golisopod went to the small lake area and checked out the other water pokemon. Salazzle went to the rock type area and lounged on a rock. Metagross kind of just planted in his place and decided to take a nap as SandSlash climbed onto the sleeping steel type to join it. Boltund stayed by his trainer, the canine electric type's bolt like tail wagging happily.

Cody had let his pokemon out but then went to go back inside to get a list of things he would need to learn to help out with. He looked over the list and wasnt quite sure what he was suppose to do first. He had great bonds with his pokemon because he did truly care for them but he was slightly impatient with some things but never his pokemon. He was far from being a bad person, he was truly very kind but he was blinded by his ambition as he looked around. He decided to forget about the list for now and walked over to violet, his Boltund walking with him. He looked at her, "Hey Violet, What can I help with to move things along?" He asked curiously, he figured getting the jobs straight from her, it could be done faster and maybe he and his team could still get training in. Maybe if he helps with the jobs enough he can still make it to the tournament next week.

Boltund saw the Zorark glaring at them and growled softly as if to warn the pokemon not to mess with his trainer. Boltund wasnt a normal pokemon around these regions and in fact was from the Galar Region, however as a Yamper, the pokemon had accidentally ended up on a cargo ship when it was looking for food. Weak, hungry and filthy, the electric corgy looking pokemon was chased away and shooed til Cody found him and offered him food. Yamper became loyal to Cody and even when it evolved with battling, the pokemon always was loyal to its trainer who saved it when it was weak. Cody truly cared for his pokemon and he knew what they put themselves through to get to where they were today. They knew how important competitions and tournaments were since he trained them well and hard. Cody heard her say that most of the list was already done but nodded, "Of course, ill gladly help." He said figuring that if the list was that close to being done, then if they hurried it would be done quicker. He would follow her and saw her Slyveon and he thought it was cute how her pokemon helped and he saw the nursery and was curious of the young pokemon, "So what can i help with first?" He asked clapping his hands together.

Cody heard what she said as they walked into the nursery but as he thought about it, he remembered that from when he had use to live here. He looked at the little togepi as she would say he would help feed her. He walked over and got the bottle when it was ready and found a place to sit. He held the togepi carefully and held the bottle for it,"Here you go, um... angel was it?" He said softly as he fed the togepi but as he held it, he didnt realize the togepi could feel his tension and impatience a bit. Soon the togepi began to cry feeling his negative emotions, "Oh no, please stop!" He said gently trying to calm the pokemon down but he had no idea what to do, or how to calm a baby pokemon.

Hearing what she said, he looked ag her as Angel was gently taken care of by the Slyveon which was good as it was calmed down by the other fairy type as he sighed, hearing her question as he nodded, "Yes, To be honest i would rather be training my team... helping keep my pokemon in top shape for the tournament next week." He stated as he looked at her, "I know I came for my Grandma but I wanted to win that tournament or at least get far into it to prove myself... not letting my pokemon waste their potiental here." He said as he did come off a bit aggressive however, his intentions were pure. He said wasted potential but he put so much work into his pokemon training and they gave as much effort back to make him happy without causing harm to themselves. His pokemon worked hard and trained even when he didnt ask them to, and he wasnt going to let that effort go to waste yet working here felt like everything he had done was for nothing. Boltund saw the injured deerling and saw that she cautiously approached. The canine didnt growl or move, it watched as it noticed the deerling's injured leg. Boltund had been in a similar way and gently moved towards the pokemon, nearly crawling as it lowered itself to show it wasnt a threat as it sniffed the deerling when it was close enough, the electric canine's tail wagged slowly as it tilted its head softly to the grass deer.
