The Charity Benefit (2) - The Charity Benefit has drawn a social crowd and they seem keen to make conversation as well as friends. The room is full of compliments and kind words and every now and then it looks like you're catching someone's eye and one person in particular seems to be paying more attention to you than the others. The stranger lingers by a display table showcasing some of the donated auction items. They look familiar but you can’t quite place why. If you try to approach them, the stranger suddenly seems to disappear before your eyes. It might be easy to assume they got lost in the crowd, but any examination of the room makes it hard to tell where they’ve gone. More than that, it seems like sometimes you catch a glimpse of them in one part of the room only to see them disappear in the blink of an eye and immediately appear across the room in a different spot entirely. It’s impossible to get close to them, and the sensation of eyes on you never really fades.

The charity benefit was something that Matt had jotted down to go to ever since he first heard of the event for one very important reason. There were kids on his soccer team who had created and donated to it and he was going to support them 110%. Of course the fact that it was a good cause wasn't something he turned his nose up at either but he wouldn't have any trouble admitting to anyone who asked the main reason he was there, the kids came first in this instance and he had no problem with people knowing that.

Granted he didn't have any plans on bidding for anything, he didn't make the kind of money that could be thrown around like that even for charity, but he would at least support them by being here. Besides, if he was here then he could always end up talking someone else into buying the donated items, possibly by regaling people with stories of his students? At least it was food for thought as he moved through the crowds, trying to spot just which table could hold the items, or maybe it was tables if they didn't keep them all together.

Just when he finally spotted what looked to be one of the created art, a sculpture by one of the youngest on the team, the feeling of being watched hit him hard. The brunette frowned as he looked around for whoever had their eyes on him, wondering it is was someone he knew, after all it was common knowledge that a few others within his work circle were going to be there. However when his eyes finally landed on the culprate it certainly wasn't someone he knew off the top of his head, though the person did seem familiar in some way.

Matt furrowed his brown as he stared right back, trying to remember just where he had seen this person before but just couldn't place them no matter what he pondered. In the end he just huffed to himself and headed towards the to asked. It only made sense to just ask so he would get the answer he needed and find out just why that person was staring. However as he moved towards them they disappeared. "What?" He asked, voice low, as he looked around and found the stranger in a completely different area of the room. No way they could move through the crowd that fast.

The hair on the back of Matt's neck stood on end and memories of past events in the city, either witnessed or told to him, flashed through his mind. Was this person working for the Negaverse? Were they about to unleash something horrible on the unsuspecting party goers? and why were they staring at HIM so intently? He didn't have any answers to those questions and every time he tried to move closer to the stranger they disappeared and reappeared some where else once again. It was like a never ending game of tag and Matt was not a fan. Finally after what seemed like an hour but was really just a few minutes, the stranger disappeared a final time and Matt no longer felt watched.
