Strange things appear in Destiny City all the time, so nothing seems out of the ordinary about what might look like discarded trash, broken glass, or pieces of broken jewelry. If anyone were to lean in for a closer inspection, they might find a beautiful, gemstone like object that is shaped a bit like a star. They come in an array of colors and almost seem to have some sort of light sparkling in them.

Strange things appeared in Destiny City all the time, and Anming did her best to avoid them.

Maybe it was a little harsh on her part, especially for someone who always tried her hardest to be as polite and helpful as possible, but Anming had been avoiding (or trying to avoid) any aspect of her powered life as much as she could. She wanted to just live a normal life, or as normal as one could get living in the city, without being drawn into conflict, where someone inevitably would be hurt. Every now and then, she would end up in a situation where powering up was unavoidable, because that was simply a thing that happened in this city, when you had a powered second identity. Anming didn’t agree with the label of ‘terrorist’, as someone who only wanted to help people the best she could, but she could also understand why some might have thought of the senshi as such.

Today, Anming was walking to the bus stop after dropping off some packages at the post office, miscellaneous baked goods she had made for an overseas pen pal. The Star Festival was underway, and the city was decorated to match the occasion, not that Anming had had time to really take advantage of the events underway. Arguably, as one to shy away from any large gathering of people to begin with, it wasn’t surprising that Anming would avoid partaking of the festivities going on, but she did, maybe, feel a twinge of guilt over not allowing herself to relax every now and then.

As she waited for the next bus to arrive, Anming noticed something lying on the ground, something out of place that caught her attention just enough to warrant her deciding to check it out. It was a stone, shaped like a star, almost, that seemed to give off a slight… sparkling, if she held it up to the light. She wasn’t sure where it came from, though perhaps someone had dropped it before getting on the last bus prior to her arriving, Had it fallen off of someone’s clothes, or perhaps broken off of a piece of jewelry?

Anming pondered leaving it where she found it, in case the original owner retraced their steps to find it, but given the bus schedule and the unreliability of another person to be as honest as her, it was probably in her best interest to hold onto it for now. After all, it was entirely possible that she could find the original owner by asking around among her classmates, who were more social than she was. Anming knew that among some of the other students in her classes, there were some who had an eye for detail for jewelry, so if anyone could help her identify where the stone may have came from, it would be them.

With any luck, she could get the stone back to its rightful owner soon… hopefully. Certainly, she didn’t want to hold onto it any longer than she needed to.
