Strange things appear in Destiny City all the time, so nothing seems out of the ordinary about what might look like discarded trash, broken glass, or pieces of broken jewelry. If anyone were to lean in for a closer inspection, they might find a beautiful, gemstone like object that is shaped a bit like a star. They come in an array of colors and almost seem to have some sort of light sparkling in them.
Porrima didn’t have much reason to be powered up during the Star Festival, but being powered up was good for covering a lot of ground quickly, which she did want to do. With a sketchpad in hand, she made her way across the rooftops of the city, occasionally stopping to do some environmental studies of the city when she thought she found a particularly compelling angle. She did it quickly, so it was almost like gesture drawing, but with a cityscape. The results were a little bizarre, but that’s how she liked it, the fluid lines flowing together in innovative and unusual ways.
No senshi or knights or other orderlies out tonight, so that was nice. For one reason or another, Porrima didn’t get harassed often, and she wasn’t going to complain about that. It was nice to be just a perfectly average corrupt senshi wandering around Destiny City and doing her own thing. She was probably going to get yelled at for not meeting energy quotas, but she could handle that. She’d make up for it eventually. When she felt like it.
When preparing to make a jump to another building, her foot struck something strange. What was a rock doing on a rooftop? This wasn’t even a flat roof that might have gravel on it or something. Turning back around, she noticed that she hadn’t stumbled over any ordinary rock. It appeared to be glowing, no, twinkling on its own. Far be it for her to be distracted by the shiny, but she wanted to investigate.
Picking through the dirt on the roof and getting it under her nails (thoroughly annoying, she thought, pausing to pick the dirt out with other fingernails, because ugh that was gross), she eventually pulled the stone out from where it was stuck. It must have been stuck to not be dislodged by her foot. Once she freed it, she noted its crystalline shape and structure. It was definitely not a starseed, despite glowing like one. It was a fancy magical rock of some sort, but what sort? Was there such a thing as a perfectly ordinary glowing rock?
The thought passed through Porrima’s head to bite the rock or put her tongue on it to see if there was some kind of current flowing through it, but she immediately thought better of it. Who went around biting random space rocks, anyway? More importantly, who bit rocks that they just found on the ground, regardless of origin?! It made her wonder if any corrupt senshi had ever eaten their own starseed. That was a side matter but she had a feeling it happened.
Hijinks with starseeds aside, Porrima felt she needed to figure out what to do with this thing. Someone might have lost it, or been looking for it, or maybe it was for a scavenger hunt. The rock slid easily enough into subspace, further hinting at magical power and puzzles. It seemed that her night had acquired a small mission.
She thought she had an idea of where to look, but looking with purpose was more fun than wandering aimlessly.
