Quote: Strange things appear in Destiny City all the time, so nothing seems out of the ordinary about what might look like discarded trash, broken glass, or pieces of broken jewelry. If anyone were to lean in for a closer inspection, they might find a beautiful, gemstone like object that is shaped a bit like a star. They come in an array of colors and almost seem to have some sort of light sparkling in them.

It took a while for Lavendulan to find someone who could teleport her out of the Dark Kingdom. It was summer now, or perhaps it was still spring, honestly, she wasn’t sure since there were no seasons where she lived.
She had been working hard on the project that General Queen Laurelite had given her as well as picking up odd jobs around the castle and a few part-time positions in Destiny city to help pay for the house her and Wolframite were building together. They were close to being done, at this point, all the electric wiring and plumbing had been complete and the walls were now done being built. All that was really left now was to paint and bring in the furniture to furnish their living space.
In her storage was a dining table with four chairs, a queen size bed that Marissa was glad that she hadn’t gotten rid of yet. There were a few other random pieces but so many things had been gotten rid of when money was getting tight and she was unable to afford the larger units to keep her belongings in.
It was never supposed to take this long to reverse the damage that was done by turning her into a half youma. Half a year at best was what she expected before she would be able to get her life back. But then things took a turn and she learned that it was hopeless to cling so desperately onto the life she once had. The only means of reclaiming it was through purification and that path had its own set of consequences.
Almost half a year ago she had made a promise to Wolframite, that they would continue to make memories together, to fill in the gaps created by his re-corruption into the Negaverse. Unfortunately, he was busy and couldn’t accompany her to the Star Festival, even though it was scheduled to go on for several weeks, this was one event he would have to miss.
Last year she had gone with Samir, but it had been so long since the two of them had spoken that it felt odd to reach out to him for anything other than work lately. Something between them had changed, she couldn’t quite place what it was but things between them felt different. Perhaps it was because she was more a monster then she cared to admit and, either way rather than reaching out to him or even Kat, she decided to go alone this year.
The officer that brought her here was kind enough to offer her a way back when she was ready as they were going to be spending time at the festival anyway. It seemed that one of their friends had been volunteering earlier, offering help with the scavenger hunt, and had brought with them a violet star charms that they had been handing out to participants. It was offered to her as a gift to which she graciously accepted before the three parted ways.
Sunlight warmed her pale skin as she walked down the street, dodging other visitors as they stepped out of the shops. It felt wonderful to be out of her cage among normal people again especially this time of year.
“Glad I brought a bathing suit.” Marissa hummed to herself with a smile on her face. Today would be a great day to plan a visit to the reservoir again.
Her attention had been set across the street when she not only felt but also heard something crunch under her foot. Marissa paused then stepped aside thinking she had accidentally broken something, however, upon closer inspection, it seemed like she had stepped on something similar to the charm she had been given, but not quite. Rather then enamel or metal, the object she picked up appeared to be a gemstone of some kind.
The star-shaped object didn’t appear to be a part of a broken piece of jewelry otherwise she would have handed it over to one of the security officers so they could take it to their lost and found. Finders keepers I guess Perhaps Winter could take to the pawnshop later to sell.
She shrugged as she stepped into an alleyway to drop her glamour and stow the star gem in her subspace pocket for the time being before activating her glamour once more.
“Today is going to be a good day,” she decided with a confident nod of her head then continued on towards the sandy shore she so fondly remembered.
