The Wishing Tree (1): A Destiny City Star Festival Tradition to be held every year; In Town Square, there is a beautiful tree with spreading branches. It is tall, but the lowest branches are easily reached. The city has decorated the tree with small, starlike ornaments and glistening lights. Thick leaves and beautiful purple flowers dangle from the branches, along with a myriad of different colored papers with handwritten wishes. Next to the tree is a stack of blank paper with twine attached, and a handwritten sign that explains:

Write your wish on a sheet of paper and tie it to the tree. Take one wish off the tree and do your best to grant it. When you have granted the wish, bury the paper in the park.

The papers are biodegradable and filled with seeds. There are no rules for wishing, but you are encouraged to wish for something vague enough that it can be interpreted in many ways so that it can be granted; you do not write your name on it, but it is encouraged to write something that doesn’t wish for self gain, but rather something that can make the world a better place. Some wishes dangling from the tree already include things like “I wish there wasn’t so much litter in the park,” “I wish someone would clean the graffiti off the old historic buildings,” and “I wish there were more volunteers at the shelter.”

If you choose to use the Wishing Tree, what do you wish for? If your wish is private, you may write it on the paper and choose a spot in the park and bury it yourself instead of hanging it on the tree.

Ciel found herself driving towards the town square of Destiny City. The young lady was going to the wishing tree in the center of the city. It was this great and beautiful tree at the center of town. She was planning on taking part in the yearly tradition of leaving a wish on the wishing tree and then trying to grant another wish. It was a very fun tradition and just the sight of the tree itself was worth the trip. Soon enough she found a parking lot near enough to the tree that she parked her motorcycle. She had thought about her wish the whole ride over. She made her way over to the tree seeing the stack of paper that the wishes were written on. She got one of the special biodegradable papers filled with seeds to write her wish down on. The young CEO chose the purple paper and wrote her wish with a silver colored pen. She was happy that the city was being so considerate of the environment in this activity. People could have fun without having to worry about creating litter.

Then the young woman looked up at the tree itself and was awestruck. The tree was gorgeous all on it's own but with the many decorations that looked like little stars the tree took her breath away. If there was a place that wishes would come true Ciel was certain it would be here. Ciel wondered how this tradition of decorating the tree for the star festival began, or how the wish tradition began. For that matter it made her wonder how the star festival began in Destiny City, after all she was pretty sure it was not practiced around the United States. She supposed it didn't really matter but it was curious none the less. She reached up to one of the lower hanging branches of the great tree to hang her own wish.

The white haired girl looked at the purple paper and her silver writing there on, she re-read her own wish "Make the city brighter." The wishes were supposed to be vague and also something good for the larger community so she tried to be as vague and altruistic as possible. Once she had secured her wish she began looking for another wish that she could fulfil. There were wishes about cleaning up the old historical building or cleaning up the parks along with other wishes of a similar nature. She decided to take the park wish. She knew of one park that had a particular litter problem.

The young woman hopped on her motorcycle and pulled out of the parking lot to head in the direction of the park. She had a plan on how she could fulfil the wish after all if she didn't fulfill a wish then her wish wouldn't come true. The young lady just hoped that using her knightly strength and speed wouldn't be considered cheating by whatever determined if a wish comes true.
