The Meteor Shower
It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be pink, blue, and even purple in color. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it.

If there was one thing that she could rely on, it wasn't just the magic that the city brought to her life. When it came to Destiny City the citizens really knew how to get behind a festival and the excitement was infectious. No matter how simple, the people in the city always managed to find the joy and encourage others to participate in it. A smile often crept on to everyone's lips at least once as they wandered through each of the streets and the wonderland that had been created for them... and even when someone was feeling down, it had a way of making them feel just a little better.

Sure, it couldn't cure all the worlds woes but it was the little things that really stood out and those really mattered.

She had been spinning the Emerald Charm around in her fingertips for a while now. She'd taken a seat on the bench about thirty minutes ago and from there, she'd simply spent the greater part of it people watching. People bustled about, flitting from stall to stall to admire the more curious wears that often came with the festival. Others sampled food, others were simply there to admire the view or participate in the games. The Star Festival had become particularly good for children in the last year with more than a few activities in place to keep them entertained.

...All in all, Lily couldn't help but appreciate it.

It really did bring a smile to her lips.

She turned her gaze upwards, finally bringing her arms back to rest against the back of the bench. As if on cue, above her head, the stars lit up. In a performance of their own they fell through the sky and cascaded to earth. At a distance they should have been white, but she couldn't help but notice that there was an odd glimmer, a strange little glint of colour, that seemed to give away that there was just a hint of something more there. She couldn't say she was surprised as that was just how things went in this city, but she definitely appreciated that it could be relied upon to give Destiny City just a little bit more during the times that it did make an effort.

Alas, she'd made her wish already for this Festival and it was better to let others cast their's towards the stars on this occasion. She was content to admire them from here and hope that any wishes that were made happened to come true for those who made them.

Ah, but the arrival of the meteor shower had given her a small nudge and it was at this point that she recalled that she had a wish to grant. She still hadn't read the one she'd pulled from the Wishing Tree. Perhaps the star shower had been a subtle reminder for her to make sure that she did her part too. With her lips pursed she turned to her bag and fished about in it until she found the coloured paper. A brief pause and then she opened it up, casting her eyes down to what had been written upon it.

Well, she wasn't sure if she could make this wish come true in its enterity but she'd give it a go. All she could do was try, right? And if all else failed, maybe draft in some help that could perform the deed if she really needed to.

That in mind, she finally got to her feet and slipped both the paper and the key charm into her bag. She had a few things to prepare before she gave this a whirl and if she didn't make a start now she'd never get anywhere.

And so she left, wandering back towards her home with the sole purpose of gathering what she needed to begin her 'quest'...
