Quote: Strange things appear in Destiny City all the time, so nothing seems out of the ordinary about what might look like discarded trash, broken glass, or pieces of broken jewelry. If anyone were to lean in for a closer inspection, they might find a beautiful, gemstone like object that is shaped a bit like a star. They come in an array of colors and almost seem to have some sort of light sparkling in them.

Brianna sat on the couch in their living room with a set of headphones on while listening to Spotify while browsing through the photos on her phone that she took while at the festival. There were several pictures taken from the garden, flowers she knew her mom would like, and would send them to her later. There were a few group photos with her sister and Liryn that would need to be added to her digital picture frame on her nightstand later.
Just as a key slid into the lock on the front door Crash and Burn by Savage Garden started playing. It had been forever since she last heard that song but the words came back to her rather quickly.
“♪Let me be the one you call… If you jump I’ll break your fall, LIft you up and fly away with you into the night...♫” When Fiona stepped into the house, after taking her shoes off next to the door, and set her bag on the counter, Brianna looked up from her phone and with a wave, she smiled kindly at her twin. “Hey, you’re getting in late.” She commented after looking at the time.
“Yeah, sorry about that…” Fiona looked away as if embarrassed by being caught. They were both adults so it didn’t really matter if they were out late. But as a courtesy, it was nice to give the other a heads up. “I kind of ran into someone while I was watching the meteor shower.”
“Oh?” Bri took the earbuds out of her ear and turned Spotify off for now. “Someone from work or school?”
“School, kinda…” Her and Fionan had been highschool sweethearts and went to the same university after graduating high school. This was something her sister already knew but things were complicated these last five years.
“There’s only one person I know that could make you blush that way. You ran into Fionan didn’t you?” Brianna’s lips curled into a knowing grin.
Fiona didn’t reply and instead walked over to the couch and nudged her sisters legs over so she could take a seat. “Here, I picked up some of these for you,” she held a hand out and waited for Brianna to holder hers out to take what she was holding.
There was probably half a dozen colorful gemstone like objects shaped almost like a star. But given the Star Festival was still ongoing she wasn’t entirely surprised by it either. “Ohh, pretty. But you’re avoiding the question.” Breanna jabbed a finger in her sisters’ side teasingly.
Fiona sighed, then grabbed ahold of the beige sofa pillow, and hugged it to her chest.
“You know, if I didn’t know any better I’d say that you’re twitterpated.”
“Stop that!” Fiona cast a glare at her sister. “It’s not what you think.” She all but blurted out like a child despite knowing it was probably a lie. With her luck, chances are it was probably exactly what her sister was thinking. “I met another senshi, like us.”
“You mean you actually powered up,” Brianna’s jaw nearly hit the floor. She didn’t even know that her sister even brought her henshi pen with he.
“I just, needed some time to think but didn’t want to risk getting snuck up on by a youma or an agent. You know as well as I do that events like this attract the wrong kind of attention or strange happenings.” Come to think of it, had there ever been a normal event where something bad or weird didn’t happen? There’s already rumors floating around the reservoir and garden, neither of which was she really looking forward into confirming if it was true but with Fionan there she felt at least a bit of comfort knowing that there would be someone level headed with her. Not that she didn’t trust her twin, but Brianna had a tendency of well… getting herself into more trouble then necessary.
“And then?” the pale-haired twin sat up and leaned in close to Fiona, pressing their shoulders against one another.
“A… senshi showed up. Not a dark mirror or corrupt, but a White Moon like us. His name is Pleione, the Senshi of Fog, and was awakened a few years ago.” Fiona worried her lower lip. Had she told him what she was then perhaps she could have been there for him, but as it stood he was abandoned by the mauvian that awoke him just as she was. Thankfully Brianna had Liryn to guide her otherwise they would all be lost. “I didn’t want to attract more attention, so we powered down and…” she paused for a moment, acutely remembering the moment she saw him “I didn’t expect Fionan to be standing there.” She admitted.
“WHAT?” Brianna shouted excitedly. “Wait, he’s one of us? Really?” she got up on her knees and threw her arms around her sister. “That’s great news!”
“No… it’s not.”
“Wait, why not?” Confused, she leaned back, head canted to the side in confusion with brows pulled together tightly. “The whole reason you broke up with him was because you didn’t want to have to keep lying to him. But you two know each others secret now. Now you two -”
Fiona raised a hand to stop her sister. “That’s why I’m home late. We went and got coffee together and talked for several hours.”
“So… are you two…” Brianna wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.
“Honestly? I don’t know yet. I think we’re just kind of playing it by ear and see how things go. I’ve missed him so much Bri.”
“I know,” A gentle hand was placed on Fiona’s shoulder. “I know,” she repeated, “But I have a feeling it will all work out. My heart tells me you two were made for each other. You were just lucky enough to find your soul mate early in life.” Brianna paused for a moment in contemplation. “You know, there’s a saying that perfectly fits this situation.”
“Oh? What’s that?”
“If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. And if they don’t, they never were.”
“When did you become so philosophical?” Fiona nudges her sister with her shoulder and the two began to laugh in unison.
“Today,” she replied with a grin.
The rest of the night was spent chit-chatting and daydreaming until early morning and the two passed out on the couch.
