Destiny City is hosting an annual scavenger hunt during the Star Festival to encourage people to get out and explore their city. The prize for turning in a completed scavenger hunt is a coupon booklet and a few free tickets to upcoming city events. Even if you aren’t interested in the prize, the scavenger hunt is specifically designed to take you through the city to showcase a few historic buildings, some art installations, and some of the city’s greatest accomplishments. While many of the places are familiar, during your explorations you come across a building you’ve never seen before--something that feels out of time. You’ve been in the area countless times before, so how did you miss this place? When you lay eyes on the building, you feel a strange timelessness and have the distinct sensation of being a part of something bigger. Briefly, you may see flashes of some distant past--a flickering memory that you can’t quite place or fully form. It’s hard to make out, but at some point in time you have the distinct impression of a faded figure taking your hand and telling you to do something. They sound hopeful and encouraging, like they really believe in you. By the time you blink, the visions are gone, the building is gone. The only thing that remains is a beautiful little garden and a plaque so faded that you can’t make out the inscription.

It was just George luck he'd finally break his grounding on the second to last day of the festival, it was a damn conspiracy by his parents! He wandered the the sights the festival had to offer, stuffing his face with snacks and drinks in the meantime, till he came across an ad for a scavenger hunt. Hm, it didn't seem like his thing, but he was bored (and lonely) and he thought maybe he could use the prizes for dates, or pizza, god, he hoped it was one of those coupon books filled with pizza coupons. So he signed up, taking his scavenger hunt sheet and setting out on his way.
It turned out to be kinda nice, he went through a few places he had never been to before, couldn't afford it, and saw some sweet art, and made fun of those historical signs scattered around town, and had nearly filled out the list, finding everything but one item. George frowned, sure that hadn't been the case a bit ago, but sure enough, there was one item he apparently just couldn't find, so he backtracked, past installations, through buildings, and looking on the front and back of those dumb historical achievement boards, and he had nothing. At least, until he passed by that building.
George stopped, nearly transfixed, he hadn't seen this building earlier, he thought, or had he? He'd remember that, he had to have passed by here twice a day, and double that on his backtracking for the scavenger hunt. It didn't matter, he felt drawn to the place, out of a sense of causing trouble (it seemed abandoned, and he did like to explore abandoned buildings) so naturally, he went in, and immeadiatley, the place felt familiar, a flicker of a memory passed in his head. "Wha-" He muttered, walking, stumbling around. the building didn't seem new, it didn't seem old, but he knew it must have been here for a long time, and he could swear he heard someone, but couldn't tell if it was a man or woman. He followed where he assumed the voice came from, looking around as images superimposed themselves over the interior. People talking, sitting, kids, running around, and a voice, cheering him on "Come on, just a bit further, you can do it!" And okay, what the hell, it seemed to be directed at him, and he just couldn't snap himself out of it long enough to care. He kept going, the images flashed now, flickered and died and all that was left was the voice cheering him on. "Just a bit further!" it encouraged, until George blinked.
And found himself back outside, but now in a garden. "Oooookay, the hell just happened?" He wondered allowed, rubbing at a spot above his eye, headache now firmly in place. He looked around, wondering what happened to the building, but he saw no trace, just a very nice garden and an old plaque. He got closer, inspecting it, but saw that it was illegible and sighed. Now he was just confused again. He got out his scavenger hunt sheet, ready to mark the place, only to see he had in fact completed the paper already.
He would go on to get the prize and never speak of this weird day again.
