Quote: The City has been lit up for the Star Festival with banners and twinkling decorations strewn off the windowsills of shop fronts and windows. The gardeners at one particular park have put their heart and soul into creating a fairy's paradise: Fairy lights have been carefully dangled from trees to make strings of stars, little beaded jewels have been hidden among the hedges, and even the old cobwebs have been sprayed with just a touch of glitter. The park is open to everyone and the citizens of Destiny City have been invited to respectfully explore the hidden wonders that have been placed throughout. The park is magical enough on its own but there have also been reports of a strange, ethereal and shimmering stranger in the park. The glimmer of a beautiful costumed figure fluttering through the park has been passed around as rumor, and no matter what anyone claims to see, no one can take a picture of it. As if simply seeing some magical figure isn’t mysterious enough, there are also reports of mischief and small pranks being played at the same time this figure seems to appear. Fairies and pranks and other rumors were being talked about, as well as flooding certain sites online, and it was all a wonder to him. It wasn't uncommon for strange, and often times magical, things to happen in this city. It never seemed to shock or surprise him what new thing could, and did, happen around the holidays every year. From people turning orange to massive bats the size of people. He'd even heard of ice spiders, like something from Game of Thrones. It was all wild and really if someone wanted to write a good fantasy book they should either visit or move to the city and keep track of the strange occurrences, it would surely give them wonderful ideas.
Deciding to power up, just to be safe, the eternal headed for the city park in order to investigate. He doubted he'd see anything and even if he did he'd have no proof, no one did, and that seemed to be another common thing all these incidents had in common. Never having proof other than what people claimed to have had happen or seen. He really did wonder why the Jacob's family moved back here - it was dangerous. As interesting as it all was, it was like living in a book at times, it was dangerous. Thankfully for Chaldene through was that he was lazy and thus rarely powered up and dealt with such things, plus things seemed to be in something of a slump as of late. No Negaverse attacks or plots. It seemed safe.
Yawning as he stepped onto one of the parks many decorated paths, deciding to try his luck and walk them all, his dark hair was tucked behind his ears so he could better see. He hoped he saw something, anything, and this wasn't all a waste for him.

These days, Oberon felt as though he was too busy to do much of anything besides study and keep a nightly lookout for nefarious negaverse activity, but he couldn’t help himself to explore the Star Festival that had been set up by the city.
Especially when there might be something new in the bushes to study. A new type of youma perhaps? There weren’t any creatures native to Earth he expected to see, mythical or otherwise.
However, after making sure no one was around to see him and powering up, Oberon realized he wasn’t the only senshi wandering the park that night.
“Woah, hey. You’re not that sparkly creature people claim lives here, are you?” he grinned in greeting to a familiar face. It had been awhile since he’d seen the other Jovian. Was that still a thing? And Oberon supposed he was only really an honorary member, what with his brothers and Ganymede and whatever, but he’d been around long enough that it shouldn’t really matter what planet his moon circled.
“Oberon,” he re-introduced in case the other didn’t recognize him. He was a much shorter kid not too many years ago. “I’m Valhalla’s brother.”

What the eternal didn't expect was another senshi to turn up, though he didn't know why he was expecting that. The city was full of senshi, and knights, and why wouldn't a few of them check out this fairy thing. He shouldn't expect everyone to be as lazy was he was, he honestly couldn't help that he preferred living in the basement of the Jacob's home spending time on his computer.
Shaking his head at the question. "No, far from a fairy. I was coming to see if I could find it." To see what it was, though it didn't sound dangerous. This was still Destiny city and who knows anymore, though it was mostly silent in the city.
"It's been a long time." He hadn't remembered the name Oberon but he did remember Valhalla, having met him one an occasion or two. "Chaldene....it's been a long time. Everyone is well in your family?" He remembered, though only just, that Valhalla was with a senshi...someone in red and black. "
Glancing about he turned his eyes back onto the other. "I'm assuming you're hunting for this fairy as well. We should walk together. Two sets of eyes are better than one." At least in this case he suspected.

“No way this thing is a fairy, if it exists at all,” Oberon said with confidence, even if he really had no idea what it was people were seeing. For all he knew it was just a hallucination or trick of the light. “The most likely thing it would be is a youma. But either it’s not around right now, or can mask its aura.”
Still, knowing that he wasn’t the only one looking for whatever this thing was made him feel like he was probably on the right track.
“Yeah, you can say that,” he said in response to the question about his family being well. They were as well as they could be, what with three kids for Paris and Chris and whoever knew what was going on with Michael and Caspian. He figured his vetran brother would probably want to be away from the city that weekend, since he often complained about the fireworks people insisted on setting off for the 4th.
“How have you been? Do you usually go out hunting for mythical creatures, or are you just bored?” he asked as he turned to walk with the other eternal.

"Why don't you think it could be a fairy? Given this cities history it could be anything." Including a fairy. This city was full of magic that took the form of many things - too many. "It could be a youma...it might not be. But neither of us sense anything." Which could, again, mean anything. It didn't have to have an aura. he disliked this inability to be sure on things, to know what he was getting into. At least he had his magic if need be.
"I don't go out a lot period. I live at the Jacob's house in their basement." Shrugging a bit. He knew how it sounded and he didn't much care, it didn't bother him really. "I tend to stay at home and go to work. This got my interest and I'm bored." And he felt like he didn't totally belong either...not his fault really, he just wanted in a relationship with anyone. Maybe some day - maybe not.
"It's good to know you're family is well...or as well as can be." He wasn't sure how to fully take the youngers answer but he assumed his family was well.

“Even if fairies exist, I doubt they’d survive in a city. Especially one with auras fluctuating as much as this. Wait, no,” he paused, thinking back to years ago, “Wasn’t there some kind of dark fairy that tried taking over and made clones of everyone? Am I thinking of the right thing?” There were too many strange events that took place for him to keep them straight.
“Sounds like a plan to me,” Oberon said with a thumbs up in the other’s direction, turning to walk backwards for a moment so he could face him better. “Nothing wrong with keeping yourself out of this nonsense. You do you, man.”
After all, who was Oberon to tell people what they should and shouldn’t do? At least he wasn’t like his oldest brother who purposefully told people to give up and go home before they get themselves killed.
“I mean, is anyone’s family really okay when we live in a place filled with magical creatures that want to kill us, and people who want to kill us?” Oberon shrugged as he turned back around, hoping to catch a glimpse of whatever this creature was, but so far he didn’t sense or see anything.

"There was...that was years back - but yeah." A lot could happen in this city. He'd learned that anything could happen when magic was involved, despite what did or didn't make sense...magic broke all the rules.
"This city hasn't been safe in a long time, before I powered up for the first time. Before anyone powered up. There was something here which powered people up - to both sides." The city hadn't been safe since whatever was behind them all had arrived.
"So no,m no ones family is totally safe...even civilian families." And the others was all powered. He couldn't picture having siblings and what not and all of them being powered as well, too much danger for his liking. "I do wish we could finish this once and for all." And make sure the city was safe. But he did remember the what could be, or could have been, where the Negaverse won. It hadn't been pretty.
Something in the distance moved, something colorful. There was a soft glow, like a will'o'the wisp but that wasn't it...at least he didn't think so. He did point it out as he took notice though. "Something further ahead." Mostly hidden from full view, he could see just movement and glow.

Oberon pushed his hands into the pockets of his shorts as they continued to walk through the garden, looking for any kind of magical creature that might be lurking, letting Chaldene voice his concerns and hopes.
“Well, make sure to post your thoughts and prayers on social media from that basement of yours,” Oberon said with a shrug.
He could care less what people did with their time, as long as they weren’t hurting others. If this guy wanted to sit around in his basement and not power up and go out, that was his business, and Oberon held no ill thoughts towards him. But no one would be winning any war if people didn’t step up and fight.
Luckily the reason for them being out there in the first place seemed to appear in the distance. He still couldn’t figure out what it was, but either way he pulled out a small notepad from one of the many pockets of his pants to start jotting down notes.
“No noticeable aura… unknown physical shape… What color would you say that is? Green? Turquoise?” he asked the other, trying to keep his voice down so they wouldn’t scare whatever it was. “Think it eats beef jerky? I’ve got some with me, just in case.”

"If only social media cared. I do wonder though...why has nothing people post, about what happens in this city, gain attention. The videos, the comments - nothing. It's a black hole it seems." Magic was the likely answer but that didn't stop him from wondering. It seemed that anything posted just was bypassed as if it wasn't there - wasn't posted.
"Teal or turquoise....either one of those." He said after a moment, having taken note that Oberon was writing things down in a notepad. "I mean...I doubt it. But you could try. We could try and get closer, food might help even if it's not into the food." They have to get closer, with the food, before the thing decided it didn't like it.
"We might also figure out what it is if we get closer." Because he was sure there was more to it. And the closer they got the more they might see, it was within a tight grouping of trees so was hard to make out but it was as big as a human...shaped like one but features were a no go at the moment.

Oberon said nothing in response to Chaldene’s observations about how nothing seemed to be noticed. For the teen he thought it was pretty obvious that the Negaverse had clearly taken over the media. And military. And government. The fact that people didn’t disappear after posting questionable things online was a surprise. At least they didn’t always disappear.
“We might be able to figure out what it is,” Oberon pointed to the other senshi with the end of his pen. “But since no one else has been successful, I somehow doubt it’s going to let the two of us.”
He was a realist, after all. Why would something be special for them when no one else had any luck before?
Still, he was a man of science and didn’t object to at least trying to see what it was.
“Caedus?” he called out, and then shrugged at Chaldene. It didn’t seem like there was any harm in taking a guess. “Or one of Caedus’s friends? Did you ever meet that guy?” he switched from calling out to the figure to asking Chaldene.

That was an idea he'd had, of course it was, but posts didn't just vanish or get deleted. But nothing seemed to happen with them, at least not every post was deleted. "We might be able to." He agreed with a slight nod of his head.
"It'll likely vanish before we get too close." Staring at the pen being pointed at him. "I wonder if magic would work on it....if we can keep it from running via magic." Maybe then they could get close and observe it better. He wasn't sure, and honestly he somehow doubted it would work, but it was worth trying perhaps?
"Yeah, I saw him when he arrived...and when everyone went...there." Trailing off he took a moment to close his eyes. That place had been intense, to say the least. "I wonder if he made it home and if he did - is it still there." Would he come back and help them perhaps? If he was able to. He hadn't ever heard what brought him to Earth to start with or how he'd been captured and kept where he'd been. There was a lot he didn't know, though perhaps others did, but there was a lot left unanswered about their visitor who had left them all.

Oberon shrugged at the offer for magic, thinking it was a better idea than just standing there. “I say go for it. At least we can test to see what it responds to.” If the magic scared whatever it was away, then that was fine. It was better to try than do nothing, even though Oberon doubted it would stick around for long.
For all they knew, it was just a trick of the light, or someone playing a prank on unsuspecting festival goers.
“Strange guy. I kinda liked him,” Oberon said, and then gestured to Chaldene to use his magic or whatever he was going to do. Oberon himself kept his eyes on the location where the unknown phenomenon was happening.

"I liked him as well, I think many of us did." And he did sort of wish to see him again, especially since he'd headed for wherever home was for him. He wanted to know if the other being still had a home and if so what it was like, had anything happened as far as attacks and attempts to destroy the place. It would be nice to get an update and know what was going on in space, since they had no way of knowing. The idea of life in space, when there wasn't on their home worlds, would be promising of perhaps other ways to bring life to their home worlds.
Stepping forward, just a step or two, Chaldene pressed his fingers together as if making a gun out of his fingers and whispered his attack against the tips of his fingers before blowing. "Chaldene Wisp's Secret."
Now to see what happened, if anything, as they didn't know what this thing actually was. It wasn't a youma though - that they knew. Quote: Super Sailor Scout Attack: Chaldene Wisp's Secret. This attack would go the same as above only this time the attack would last thirty seconds each time it's used and could now be used three times per battle. The significant difference however is that this time a person isn't simply distracted by the wisps appearing and vanishing only to reappear. But they are compelled, by magic and whispered words of encouragement, to look toward the wisps. The same things can break the spell as before only now when the spell is broken the opponent would feel slightly confused and perhaps even a little disoriented.

Oberon stood back and watched as the orbs appeared and disappeared and reappeared, as if trying to draw the mysterious figure’s attention.
“Still fifty percent chance this is just an elaborate hoax the city is pulling on everyone,” he pointed out, but kept his voice to a whisper. His sense of adventure was firmly grounded in reality. Usually. Coming out here when he should be working on his senior thesis was adventurous enough, he thought.
“What’s the range of that magic? I think we should step back some. See if it comes out to follow the wisps,” Oberon suggested, still partially hoping to see something more than what they could right now, but still doubting they would have much luck.

"I'm not sure on the range." He'd never really checked and tinkered with using his magic and someone and seeing just what it did and all that. "I mean I think it hit...it normally would from about here." As far as he could remember. Damn, he really felt lazy about being a senshi right now.
"We might be able to back up if she comes closer. If she does...and I need to I can use it again and try and lure her closer to us." Lure her out slowly using as much magic as he could...sounded like a good idea he to him!
It seemed something might be working though as her head did seem to turn and move a bit - as if she saw something. (I just noticed his magic has no range on it. Damn. Idk how he ever got stamped like that. LMAO )
