Quote: The City has been lit up for the Star Festival with banners and twinkling decorations strewn off the windowsills of shop fronts and windows. The gardeners at one particular park have put their heart and soul into creating a fairy's paradise: Fairy lights have been carefully dangled from trees to make strings of stars, little beaded jewels have been hidden among the hedges, and even the old cobwebs have been sprayed with just a touch of glitter. The park is open to everyone and the citizens of Destiny City have been invited to respectfully explore the hidden wonders that have been placed throughout. The park is magical enough on its own but there have also been reports of a strange, ethereal and shimmering stranger in the park. The glimmer of a beautiful costumed figure fluttering through the park has been passed around as rumor, and no matter what anyone claims to see, no one can take a picture of it. As if simply seeing some magical figure isn’t mysterious enough, there are also reports of mischief and small pranks being played at the same time this figure seems to appear. Freyalise stretched, grinning brightly. "Thanks for coming with me!" She chirped, brightly. The fairy wonderland in the park was dumb, and cheesy, and she almost didn't care. It was somewhere she wanted to be--somewhere beautiful and romantic. It wasn't like she and the boys got to do much in the way of actually dating, for a lot of reasons, but this would do, she figured. It was gorgeous and sparkly and fun, and that was, realistically, all she wanted out of this whole thing.
"So, do we want to try spotting that sparkly stranger? Or are we just going to take everything in, for now?"Caer sighed, softly, leaning against Salem and linking their arms together. It was hard to resist something that was clearly making Freya so happy, and if he was totally honest, he'd wanted to come see the Fairy Wonderland too. Either way, though, their tiny princess wanted this, and that was all there was to it. There were few things Caer wouldn't do, if it made his partners happy. Besides, the place was decorated so brightly... it could have been a Cosmos wonder brought to Earth, it was so full of glitter and joy.
And it had been hard to ignore the whispers that there was just a little bit of extra magic floating around, here. "I don't know if we need to search, but I'd love to get to see that." Caer sighed, dreamily. "A mysterious sparkling stranger....how magical."

Salem rolled his eyes. "Not that we had much choice...." He growled, though his sharp tone died down into a quiet growl as Caer leaned against him. "I still think what we have is better."
He snorted in disdain at his surroundings. It hit a little to close to home for his taste. But easily ignoble. "Right... Cause we haven't seen one of those before." Salem said flatly.

Freya sighed, rolling her eyes. "Come on, Salem, have a little fun!" She spun, and put her hands on her hips, pouting at her boyfriends. "Sure, maybe we've got a nicer garden at home, but we don't have to take care of this one,w e can just enjoy it." That seemed perfectly reasonable, as far as she was concerned. "And it's a holiday! A whole city-wide festival. We might as well enjoy it as much as we can!"
She spun back around, bouncing onto her toes. "Let's go!" She chirped, and then she started off into the garden, not waiting to see if they followed her.Caer rolled his eyes, fondly. "So much enthusiasm, princess," he teased, but he straightened, gently tugging on Salem's arm. "We can't let her go running too far," he said. "And we don't have to stay long. Just do a walkthrough, and then we can head home. And maybe we get lucky and spot this little bit of magic, and maybe we don't. But either way, I think we'll have a nice time. As long as we're together, at least."
He shifted his hand down Salem's arm, so that he could wind their fingers together.

"No." He replied flatly once more before frowning. "I like taking care of that one." He enjoyed that. Salem sighed quietly to himself, which turned into a soft noise of acknowledgement when Caer tugged on his arm.
"No..." He agreed. But as long as she was with in line of sight. He wasn't too worried. Salem rolled his eyes though. "We are magic..."
Quiet literally they had been ripped from the stars themselves, if there uniforms had anything to say about it. His certainly did, all things considered.
Salem sighed again as Caer twisted their fingers together. He brought Caer's hand and kissed his knuckles gently before letter their hands drop again and relaxing just a bit.

"Okay, okay, fine, taking care of it is fun," Freya said, and she waved a hand idly. "But we can still enjoy other ones!" She paused, when it became obvious they weren't following immediately, and turned back, just in time to watch Salem bring Caer's fingers up to kiss. She gasped, putting her hands in front of her face and getting wide eyed.
"Awww!"Caer was all ready to be playful, or teasing, or literally anything else at all, but when Salem kissed the back of his fingers, he felt his brain shut down briefly. "Uh," he said, articulately, and then he made a few noises that sounded a little like his brain calibrating, before giving up on the concept of being coherent altogether and leaning up to press a brief kiss to Salem's lips.
"You're sweeter than you want people to think," he said, when he pulled back. It could have been teasing, but it wasn't--instead it was soft and fond.

Salem scowled having been caught. "I WILL leave." He threatened, detangling their hands and shoving them in his pockets. Could he go home now? That would be great.
Salem stalked closer over in Freya's general direction. "Happy now?" He snapped. "Now what??" The man made a grumbling noise before turning back to Caer. "It's a weakness I don't exactly want people taking advantage of." He grumbled. "Are we going or not?"

Seeing Salem react angrily made Freya's shoulders drop. "Sorry, sorry," she said, scuffing her feet. "Just...it's cute, when you're sweet like that." Especially since it was such a rare and special thing. "I got a little overexcited."
She turned on her heels and put her hands on her hips, thoughtfully. "Well! Come on, I heard there was some kind of wishing well near here. that sounds nice!" And it did, and it would hopefully distract from the awkwardness of the situation, and maybe it might make at least Caer smile. That was all Freya wanted, really; to see her boys happy.
Well, okay, that wasn't all she wanted. But it was the top of the list right now!Caer sighed, letting Salem go. He'd pushed too far again, and too publicly. Still, he walked over to his partners slowly and unhurriedly, with a casual ease.
"Right, sorry. Let's get going," he said, and he kept going at the same easy pace; it gave him plenty of time to take in everything around him.
It was then that he spotted it--a brief shimmer out of the corner of his eye. He stopped in his tracks and turned, and let out a soft gasp.
"Ale, Freya, look," he said, voice just loud enough to carry to them.
There, on the other side of the hedge, was a sparkling figure. Caer stared in awe, eyes going wide and a bright smile drawing its way across his face. "I can't believe it..."

"Get. You get a little over excited."
Salem fixed her with a flat stare. "A wishing well? Really? We have lights and ponds at home and that is what wins? Salem huffed, shoulders slouching as he followed after her.
Ridiculous.
He again made a noise when Caer called to him, turning to find him staring off. Confused, Salem followed his gaze before his own landed on the strange figure. The ********. On me. Now. Freya." Whatever this thing was, it wasn't going to separate them.

"Wishing wells are fun," she said. "Like sure, okay, it's all in your head, really, but it's still nice. And who knows! We live in Destiny City, anything is possi..." She stopped, trailing off, and turned when Caer called out. When she realized what he was looking at, she gaped excitedly.
"It's real!" She said, and she started to step forward, intent on catching the thing, but Salem's command made her stop. She frowned, a little, reaching out to gently lay a hand on his shoulder.
"I don't think it's dangerous?" She said, but her tone was careful. She didn't want to agitate Salem more by challenging him, especially when he clearly just wanted to protect her. Caer moved over next to Salem, as asked, but instead of getting into any kind of defensive stance, he reached over and wound their fingers together again, rubbing his thumb over the back of Salem's hand.
"It's okay," he said, gently. "There's been lots of talk about this thing, and no one's said it's dangerous. I think as long as we don't bother it, it shouldn't bother us. But we've found what we came for, so we don't have to stay, if you'd rather go home and not risk it."

"Doesn't mean it can't be." Or had Caer simply forgotten how he'd come to be??? They didn't know what this thing was, let alone what could set it off...
A better question though was why was it here, and what did it want?
Perhaps it would be better to check in with a General later... See if anyone had anything to report on these strange beings.
"This is as far as you get." It was closer then he'd normally like but.. a little too late on that front he supposed.. "I would advice we slowly back off though. I would prefer not to risk it till we know anything more about it."
If this thing were to get hostile...There was not much they could do. Too many people floating around meant it was to risky to power up and handle it. Salem turned, tugging Caer gently and ushering Freya back with them. "Let's figure out whats going on first before we try anything else..."

As they debated, the figure seemed to make the decision for them, because as quickly as it had appeared, it vanished, fading out like a dying light.
"Oh," Caer sighed, softly. He let Salem tug him away, and shook his head. "Well. I agree, we'll have to come back and see if we can spot it again. Buyt for now...let's go home."Freya sighed, but she nodded. "Home sounds good. Thank you for coming with me, though." She smiled softly. "This was...really nice, all in all." It had felt like a proper date, and like something special she could carry with her.
That was, really, all a girl could ask for.
