-quote]It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be pink, blue, and even purple in color. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it.
The sky was crying. That's how a little child might see the stars falling from above, bathing the night sky in wioshable stars and dreams of yellow and white and orange, at least, normally it was those, and the sky was occasionally accented by pink or purple or blue, as if the divine will of the universe were adding a punctuation mark to the grand display. Stars that did not fall were statiic, white things, and the falling stars accoutremonty reminding Cherish of her fuku as Sailor Limosa, minus the blues, and she wondered if she might find something out. A paper fluttered in her hand though, and she looked down at it. She was quiet and slightluy reserved, nervous and excited, and she looked up at the sky again as another star blazed across the sky, cheerfully pink and happily sparkling and gleaming above as it crossed the sky. Cherish shifted and sat on the hoiod of her car, shifting and laying oin her back oppn her car to watch the sky twinkle and sparkle as a normal whiote star blazed past. Cherish sighed, closing her eyes as she looked at the photo printed in her hand again and sighed. She'd gotten the full story out of her mother, and whiler she felt some guilt, but not as much as she might once have. She'd wondered for her whole life who her father was, only rto be getting letters and cards and a yearly book since she weas six, and she was abnsolutely furious with her mother. her uncle, her brother, and to a lesser extent Reynard for not being there. She was purely angry, and after yelling at hetr mother until she could call her father, and then at last the woman had it. And she'd stormed out to call him. Was it the most mature response? No, not really. The woman began to feel shy and hopeful as she'd called.
The sky was crying, if you asked a small child, and Cherish was pleased that the meteor shower ran several days, giving her something to do together, something to take over the awkward silences and stilted conversation she expected. She had some passing idea of the man from the cardfs and letters and book choices, but her mothjer was negative, calling him good for nothing. Her mother was quite prepared to complain, but, the woman had been sixteen, like he had, hsaving them and he evidently didn't know until she'd tracked him down. He had transferred from Meadowview to Azure Valley about then, so he wasn't immediately aware he had childsren. Rey didn't care beyond about their mother. Chewrish wanted to know and knowing the truth and calling him -- pleasantly surprising him -- she asked him to meet up with her. He agreed , and said he would bring a telescope to study the stars. A fresh faced teacher at DCU but three years ago, and Cherish felt some pride. And so, finally free and finally able to visit again, Cherish sighed, looking skyward slowly. A few more star streaks graced the sky as another car pulled up and Cherish looked over as a strawberry haired woman emerged and opened the trunk as a familiar blue eyed face emerged from the car as well, carrying a KFC bucket meal, and he smiled as Cherish smiled at him and his wife, turning to her feet and rushed over, pulling the man into a tight hug as she smiled, and sighed.
"Hi, Dad."
Abovem something more seemed to streak across the night sky.
