The Charity Benefit (3) - Now is as good of a time as any to examine one of the many tables displaying items for the auction. The table is full of donations, both new and old, and something catches your eye. It’s only when you get closer to the item that you have some sort of fierce, emotional response. It might be nostalgia or happiness, or sadness, or fear, or anger--any emotion is possible. There doesn’t seem to be any reason to feel this way; the item can be any that you choose. Though the emotion doesn’t linger for long, there’s no clear reason as to why it inspired such feelings. Is the item worth bidding on? Or running away from?
As she was moving from the displayed items on the tables. And there were a lots, old or new, people donated quite a lot of random things, suddenly something in particular catched her eyes. It was a clock which looks quite antique and was maybe in marble? She couldn't really say so far. The design was quite simple, with the clock in the middle, on the top of this one a sort of dome. Then on both side there were candles holder. You could put four in total. Then under the clock there were a pendant like ornament, which looked like the sun.
She got really interested about this item so she decided to go closer. To get a proprer look. Then when she was at hand distance of it she felt this nostalgia feeling. Like when you eat your grand mother cake. It felt so warm but on an other side so weird because there was not real reason why this clock would make her feel that way.
She decided to touch it, who know maybe something else will happen,. She put lightly her fingers on the marble but no nothing, the feeling was gone. What was that about she thought. Could this clock be something she knows ?
She tried to search in her memories about it, like maybe she saw it as someone place, or it was in her family long long time ago? Nothing seems to come up sadly.
She checked how much was the actual bid for it, " five hundred", that was quite a lot, though it was really a beautifull piece of art. It was absolutely over their budget too. So she decide to go look for something else.
But as she walked away she couldn't shook off the nostalgia feeling she had out of her mind. And even wandering around other tables her eyes always come back to the clock. So she decide to come back to it.
She looked at it more closely, it was really beautifull artwork, the marble color was white and pink, and the golden metal parts still looked nice even if old. It was not such a big clock but it was quite of a good size and actually a little heavy.
"five hundred", she said again, Raphael will not be happy. But again the feeling may come back who knows, and maybe this time she would understand why. So there she goes, "Five hundred sixty seven please" !
The person taking note of the numbers looked amused by the random numbers, "My lucky numbers" Ariel said with a smile. She couldn't bid more than that so she was hoping this will bring her luck and get her the clock.
"Well fine for me" said the man. "you are the highest bidder, and it finish in 10 minutes so let me give you an ok".
For real? She thought. Thats amazing. "Thank you" she said.
"You are welcome miss ?" "Storm, Ariel Storm" she replied.
"Well miss Storm you can pick it up after the ball as I see your attire your are attending it I guess".
"Yes I do"
"Have a good evening"
"Thank you" and then she went back on the buffet, she spent enough for tonight anyway.
