The senshi had taken Cybele's advice, though he might not have sounded like he had listened to her, he had acknowledged that he did need to be mindful that there would be those out there that could destroy him. This didn't mean that he had stopped his patrols, on the contrary he continued as normal, but as he had yet to make any significant progress on his power fluctuations he'd taken to treading more carefully.

It had given him a heightened sense of awareness to auras at least, it was one thing he had gotten practice at.

The evening though he was in one of his usual haunts, he didn't keep a predictable routine and he certainly couldn't be pinned down to any one location on a set day, or during a particular week, but he could be relied upon to show up at some point and there were some who had taken to being mindful of him too. He'd certainly been making a nuisance of himself, even if the last few weeks had been made up mostly of smashing youma into dust piles.

Wherever the Negaverse agents had gotten to was a mystery to him but he wasn't stupid enough to assume they were gone, if anything, they might be missing one another like passing ships in the night...

Tonight was another night for Geo. And luckily he had been able to drain enough passer-byes to gather all of the energy that he had needed. It had been... slow. And he hadn't made any progress towards Purification. Though that was a bit hard considering he really had no idea where to start other than that Senshi he had talked to.

Or was it a Knight? He groaned and rubbed his head. Now he was mixing the two of them up, but at any rate, he needed to find the one who could purify him and get into contact with them. But it didn't help when he was having to hide it from the Negaverse and dumb Senshi from the Order side didn't want to listen to him.

Speaking of which... he felt his eye twitch a bit when he felt an aura similar to that last Senshi he had encountered. And he groaned again. Couldn't he just be left alone?

Still, he felt like he should go tease the Senshi a bit, or at least see if he had any information. Last time he wasn't willing to talk that much but maybe he would be willing to say more this time...

Geo pushed himself off the wall he was leaning on, stretching a bit after having been in that position for so long, before moving towards the Senshi. They would notice at some point, and he was sure that they would be going to attack him.

This evening things were different, they were quiet, and this did afford Athalia a reason to be moderately suspicious. Things were rarely this peaceful and he had to wonder if perhaps he had found the wrong spot. He could only hope that his fellow senshi had found the correct locations and were ensuring those who needed help were protected.

Nevertheless while there seemed to be no indication that something was amiss here, it wasn't long before he sensed that familiar ping that often meant that someone was up to something questionable. This was perhaps a disservice to Geo at this particular moment given that the agent wasn't doing anything particularly nefarious, but the majority of the time when Athalia detected that aura it often led to a spat.

...Although some of that was down to his own behaviour.

It was with a cluck of his tongue that the senshi rounded the corner, now that he'd sensed Geo it was unlikely that he hadn't been sensed himself so there was no point in hiding. At the very least he would check to make sure the agent hadn't done anything.

When he did finally lay eyes on him though there seemed to be no indication that anything was wrong, the agent was on his own and with no comatose or slumbering lumps nearby, it would seem that no one had been hurt. Athalia's eyebrow raised, an indication that even he was surprised by the lack of bodies (alive or otherwise) strewn about the area.

Interestingly though, it looked like the senshi didn't seem overly inclined to engage, without a reason to do so he didn't seem to be the type to escalate.

In no way was Geo trying to impress the Senshi. The Order character had only come before he could drain anyone. Still Geo couldn't help but feel annoyed by the other's presence. The Senshi didn't look like he was going to attack, but that didn't mean that Geo welcomed his presence.

Even in the small amount of light that they were getting, Geo could see the raised eyebrow and growled. "What?" He didn't like the other being here, this was practically his "territory" for draining. And considering how much crime was out here, he had a lot of targets.

Still, if the Senshi had come here again it would mean that either Geo had to fight him, or he had to move, and he really did not want to do either. He just wanted to drain, try to gather information on purifying, and that was it.

But Senshi like this always had to make things harder.

"You're a little light on victims this evening," Athalia observed as he motioned to the immediate area. Geo wasn't wrong, he was the type of senshi to deliberately make a nuisance of himself. If agents were distracted by him then that meant they couldn't drain someone else; it served to inconvenience the Negaverse and starve their lovely parasite while also ensuring that those who should be safe did stay safe.

"There are busier spots," he added.

He still didn't seem entirely inclined to step forward and engage, he genuinely seemed curious to understand what the agent was doing out here on his own. Did he know something about this area that Athalia didn't, was there something he should know about it? It may have been as harmless as it simply being a gathering spot for skateboarders or it might well have been something much more sinister... regardless, it was an unknown to him for the time being.

"Or are you waiting for someone and I've inadvertently become the third wheel, hm?"

Geo rolled his eyes at the comment. "Oh? And would you like me to gather some?" He replied sarcastically, throwing up his hands. There was just no stopping this Senshi, and he really got on Geo's nerves. He didn't care about it being busy, he cared about it being a hotspot for criminals. At least he didn't feel guilty when he drained them.

"If you want I can always call in some backup." Geo said raising a brow and throwing up his hands. "And trust me, they would be much more willing to fight you."

If the Senshi were to continually patrol this area, and he really wanted to hurt the Senshi, Geo could always report it to someone else who would be much more willing to fight. But, that would require interaction with other Agents, which he was trying to avoid at all costs unless necessary.

Purification couldn't come soon enough.

"I'm assuming you're patrolling for Agents like me that you can beat up and then call yourself a good person?"

"A little hypocritical don't you think?" He raised a brow. Hadn't this one mentioned he was trying to get out, hadn't he stormed off when challenged over his devotion to that cause? To be threatened now with back up from another agent was questionable at best and did little to convince Athalia that he was by any means genuine in his pursuit of freedom.

Nevertheless, he'd had his fill of witty conversation from other Agents, particularly given that one had seemed entirely too interested in attempting to goad him with jests. That one hadn't gotten a rise from him, but it had done enough to sour him for a time. Agents liked to run their mouths a lot, and they seemed particularly inclined to get the last word in.

"You are more than welcome to call for support if you must," He said at last and lifted his arm to adjust the bracer a touch. He seemed unfazed by the prospect of battling against more than one individual, in the grand scheme of things he probably would do all right, but he was also inclined to believe that this one might be all bluster.

"I'd rather you didn't drain the lives of the innocent though, vigilante behaviour around those who genuinely can't defend themselves is in poor taste," he remarked. "And you might end up targeting the wrong individuals if they just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time," he added with a shake of his head.

"But if you insist then we can always reintroduce ourselves to one another, I think it went quite well the last time, don't you?"

That probably wouldn't go down well, but at least Athalia hadn't moved yet. If Geo was to gain any type of advantage, now was probably as good a time as any to go on the offensive.

Geo felt his eyes almost roll into the back of his skull. Apparently this Senshi couldn't tell what sarcasm was. "Sheesh, can't even tell when someone's being sarcastic." He muttered moving his hand to his face and shaking his head.

"Everyone is innocent to you huh? Can you even recognize when a crime is happening in front of you?" What did he think that Geo did exactly? A spray attack hitting everyone in the general vicinity? That he just picked people at random? Maybe he used a dartboard to decide who to target that day?

He shrugged his shoulders. "It went fine. I'm not intimidated by you if you think that's what I took from our meeting last time. There's a difference between trying and well, not." While he had to admit that Athalia probably had more general fighting experience between the two of them, Geo could probably hold his own quite well against the Senshi if he really wanted to. But he had only half-attempted to fight the other last time. Even if he could consider it a loss on his side, it didn't truly feel like one when one wasn't even trying that hard. It was like playing against someone in a sporting match that you didn't want to enter in the first place and don't care about. If the other side wins, then what was lost by the one who didn't want to do it other than time?

"I think you overestimate my attacking "random" people. Or else you can't distinguish between agents. Seems like kind of a detriment. Wouldn't you want to be able to remember them individually so that you know their strengths and weaknesses? Treating them as though they act all the same is going to get you in a bad spot. And that's not me trying to intimidate you. It would be the same for me if I treated every Senshi the same as well."

He moved into a more relaxed position. The Senshi didn't appear to want to attack, and Geo certainly didn't, but he would if he had to, at least to get out of the situation.

"You manage to learn anything more about purification? Not like I have access to the resources that you do." Might as well see if this second meeting would be more "productive" than the first.

"I recognise it more than you can fathom," Athalia replied simply and his tone indicated that he meant it. Geo may not of know what Regula was in his civilian form, but that didn't know that he forgot himself even in this one. To be a vigilante in some respects, was a touch uncomfortable and a paradox in his own right, but no normal individual could take on a Negaverse agent and win.

Unfortunately for Geo, despite the flaws of those within the gangs, even they were entitled to protection. In the end justice would come for them to, they would answer for what they had done. Regardless of what that might have been, it didn't give others the right to torture them simply because they were 'bad people'.

"As for our last meeting I refrain from making assumptions on behalf of others, you chose to run and for that evening the individuals you chose to harm remained relatively safe. That is sufficient for me," he stated. Again, another truth, in the grand scheme of things the Negaverse agent could have loathed him and that was simply how it would be!

"And I know each agent well enough to know that there are elements of combat I will need to re-evaluate if I ever cross paths with them again," he held out a hand and motioned towards the Captain. "You were not one of them," he added calmly. Geo's heart hadn't been in it, but even then, unless outnumbered the senshi was confident that he stood a chance of succeeding again.

"Regardless of what you say your sole purpose in this world is to cause harm to feed your master, it doesn't matter who you choose to feed to it, only that you are complicit it doing so," he sighed. "You are not judge, jury and executioner just because you assume someone is 'bad'. For all you know they could be there by association and have done nothing wrong."

A pause.

"Ah, but your kind do try to justify their torture as a form of extended policing. Evidence is irrelevant to all of you, so you simply target anything that fits and pretend that you are doing the world a great service."

As the Captain changed topics though he raised a brow and pursed his lips. So they were back to this topic again were they?

"I know of it, I know how it works in principle," he pressed his finger into his bracer and readjusted it, a loose shrug rolling through his shoulders. "And if I am to believe the Mauvians I've been speaking to there is more than one individual who can perform such acts," he replied.

"The problem is that you really have to want it, otherwise it doesn't work apparently," he nodded towards the agent. "And I'm not convinced you're willing to do everything necessary so that it will do what you hope it will."

"So you're both saying that you will treat all Agents the same for the first time and that while I'm not 'judge, jury, and executioner,'" He put the words in finger quotes, "That somehow you are not the same even though you judge and attack as well? And that's also not mentioning the fact that even those on your "side" may be committing some of the same evils that you love to attribute to the Negaverse." He had no idea whether it was Chaos that influence that, but he did know, through research, that there were those who willingly corrupted. Many were forced just as he was, but others had been a part of the Order and had decided that they wanted to be on the other side.

He couldn't see what the appeal was.

Either way, this guy sounded like a hypocrite and apparently couldn't tell what sarcasm was. Knowing that, Geo knew he really should stop even trying with the Senshi. The only thing he may get was information.

Apparently the Senshi knew about it, and knew someone who could perform it. He didn't really care for the other's opinion. As much as the Senshi wanted to believe he had psychic powers, he did not, and Geo knew that it was only his opinion. But it appeared if he wanted to get the information about who could do it, then he would have to earn the Senshi's "approval". Like hell that was going to happen. It did mean there were those out there who could do it. And he would have to find them, with or without the Senshi's help.

"Well, too bad for you I don't really care about your opinion. But you have given me the information I need, or at least confirmation. I'm not about to go and ask you for help in finding them though since you aren't "convinced" of me." He rolled his eyes at the remark. "But I appreciate what you have given me." He could go now, think about his next steps as to what he should do. "Guess it's about time I go and drain some people, maybe even kill them, you know for funsies." He said in a deadpan voice looking straight at the Senshi. "Maybe I'll go and kick a puppy as well."

"I intervene where they can't," Athalia was blunt and wouldn't be moved on this one. Whether Geo cared to admit it or not he was far more powerful than the vulnerable that he preyed upon. Whether they were good, bad or had simply fallen into the wrong crowd, he harmed them without them ever standing a chance. Whether Geo found that hypocritical or not was irrelevant, and while the Negaverse agent continued to hunt them like animals and tried (in vain) to justify it by saying 'they are bad people', he would always meet Athalia in those dark alleyways.

"I intervene because you hunt them like animals with feeble justification that they may be bad people," he pointed out. "Whether they are or are not is irrelevant, the very fact you hunt them and target them specifically because you think others won't step in and defend them shows you for what you are," he continued.

"And do not try to speak nonsense at me in regards to other agents," he shook his head. "At least some of those I have met have had the courage to ask me to grant them my strength," he snapped. "At least they have sought out a source who might be able to take that strain and have not targeted something that cannot fight back."

He paused.

"If you genuinely want to find your way out of the mess you have gotten yourself in to then perhaps you should cease in your endless excuses and do something about it," he stated coolly.

"The only thing I see before me is a weak-willed boy who desperately seeks excuses so that when he is challenged, he has some ridiculous notion that his justification for feeding his parasite is real," he added.

He paused.

"You will need to do more than convince me that you are worth aiding when you are nothing more than an animal in this state yourself."

He shook his head slowly.

"It will not be me who saves you, I do not have that power, but those who do have it also cannot force it," he hissed. "Do not think they can save you either if deep within you, you are still an animal, and your parasitical master won't release you," he pointed out.

"But do not think that you will drain anyone this evening," he seemed to at least be coming to the end of his monologue, that would be of some relief to Geo!

"You're going to have to go through me first before you even stand a chance of seeing anyone else this evening."

Yep, come hell or high water, this particular senshi fully intended to find a way to starve out chaos. It was highly impractical, but that wouldn't stop him from trying to remove its feeding sources. Maybe then it would start consuming its own minions and would systematically end up with nothing. Heh, it was worth a shot.

Alas... Geo was right in the sense that Athalia lacked a considerable amount of humour in the evenings, particularly in the company of chaos. On this occasion Geo's deadpan tone had been completely lost on him!

Geo wasn't angry at all of the insults that were being hurled at him. He expected it of the Senshi at this point. What he was getting angry about was the fact that this Senshi appeared to want to gate-keep Purification! As though only those worthy under his eyes would be able to be purified and that he was the only one who could pass judgment. It made Geo angry. What about all of those who were like him but they weren't strong enough? Even he knew that not many went to grow and become Captains, let alone Generals. Lieutenants had to rely on others so much more, and the fact that if they wanted to leave it was going to be denied to them because of this Senshi's judgement?

Before he knew it, a fist had lashed out toward the Senshi, full force behind it. "You DO NOT GET TO BE JUDGE on purification! There are others like me out there who want to leave and with your attitude more are going to be stuck and either killed or forced to do horrible things because they don't want to die! If you're so willing to write us off so quickly, why don't you just go and KILL ANY AGENT YOU SEE?! THEN YOU CAN TAKE YOUR SELF-RIGHTEOUS BULL**** BACK WITH YOU AND YOU CAN PRETEND TO BE SOME ALMIGHTY HERO LIKE YOU THINK YOU ARE WHEN YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN ANY OF US!!!"

His arm came up to meet Geo's fist and while he was able to shield himself from the majority of the blow, the sheer force behind it was enough to send shockwaves of pain the entire way up the senshi's arm. It should have come at no surprise that he exhaled sharply through his nose and his fist clenched, all measures put in place to ensure he didn't become too expressive despite what he might currently be feeling.

In short, that had really hurt.

Arm still raised against the Captain's fist, Athalia levelled his eyes upon him and without a word, kicked his leg up and out to push the Captain away from him. The outburst had really been something, and at the very least, enough to get the senshi's attention. It was only when he was safe that he lowered his arm once more and pressed his hand against it to comfort the now twitching, battered and bruised forearm.

"I never said it would be me you needed to convince," He stated coolly.

"I simply said that if you were not genuine in your pursuit of it and did not try to avoid what you are doing now, there is no guarantee of success," he added.

"It cannot be forced and any small reason your beast finds to keep you will make it all the more challenging for you," he grimaced and flexes his hand. At least it wasn't broken but it was certainly numbing at this particular moment in time and it wasn't the most pleasant sensation he'd ever had.

"If your choice is to feed it and to still prey on the vulnerable, do you really think that it will let you go? You keep making it stronger, how will that ever help you?" he pointed out.

"If what you say is true," Athalia shook his head and took a step back. "Then perhaps you need to truly consider your approach; if you feed your beast and make it stronger, no matter how much you might wish for it your past crimes might well make it impossible for anything or anyone to save you," he finished.

He didn't know if that was entirely true, he knew that it was 'difficult' to purify someone and there were considerable challenges... But the information he had received so far had been vague and mixed. Some said they could save all, others had indicated that this was impossible and only those who truly wanted to be free could be aided. Whatever the truth was, Athalia was inclined to believe that those who preyed on what they thought was the 'right' targets were still unlikely to succeed.

Safe to say, if he had been a demonic entity of death and destruction, he certainly wouldn't have released anyone who kept feeding him willingly. If anything he would have shackled and whipped them harder.

Nevertheless it had been in that outburst that Athalia had seen something and it was without another word that he simply turned on his heel and walked away. It may not have been great for closure, but whatever Geo had said in those moments had done something at least and strangely...the senshi's will to intervene had ceased.

He might have missed the sarcasm from before, but maybe he might have detected something else. Perhaps he recognised Geo deserved the opportunity to prove him wrong, even if he wasn't there to witness it and even if Geo had nothing to prove to him specifically - after all, it wasn't Athalia that would be able to aid him at the end of the Captain's quest.

Whatever the case may be it appeared that the Captain had finally been left to his own devices and could do whatever he pleased.

With a bruised arm to nurse, the senshi had already calmly taken his leave!

/fin from me and a win for Geo imo. xD
PostPosted: Sun Sep 06, 2020 6:25 pm

Geo couldn't believe the Senshi had just walked away! Apparently the punch had done the trick, but Geo was still feeling anger at the entire situation. The fact that the Senshi could just go up to him and talk to him and act as though he was so much better and then just leave? It frustrated the Captain to say the least. He knew the Senshi wasn't wrong, but again, it was as though the Senshi hadn't listened to a word he had said. He had complained earlier to the other about how hard it would be to leave, and the Senshi made fun of him for it.

Then this time, he tried to say the same thing, and the Senshi said that the Negaverse was unlikely to let Geo go! It was as if the Senshi was willfully ignoring what he had been telling him the whole time! And maybe the fact that because it was some "demonic" entity with a lot of power and growing everyday that it might be hard to get away from?! And yet the Senshi acted like it was some brilliant thought he had come up with!

Geo clenched his fist, but let the Senshi go. He did promise himself if he managed to purify into a Knight, that he would do something about that Senshi's attitude. He didn't know what at the time, but it would be... something.
