It might be nostalgia or happiness, or sadness, or fear, or anger--any emotion is possible. There doesn’t seem to be any reason to feel this way; the item can be any that you choose. Though the emotion doesn’t linger for long, there’s no clear reason as to why it inspired such feelings. Is the item worth bidding on? Or running away from?

Despite being apparently local enough to receive an invite, making the decision to attend both charity benefit and ball both had been something that Arian had spent a while dithering over. In part it was because he knew that his cousin as planning to attend and things were currently awkward between them, but in part it was because the ball was a black tie one and they weren't really his thing. He'd just about reached the point of just going to the benefit and skipping out on the ball, but had changed his mind after finding out that Anxo also had an invite. Arian's lips quirked up in a slightly rueful smile as he sipped at his glass of soda, but then again he'd always found something infectious about his sweet and somewhat goofy boyfriend - especially when he smiled that slightly lop-sided smile - which was probably how he'd found himself digging out his formal slacks and pairing it with a shirt and waist coat combo. Arian took another sip of his drink as he caught sight of his cousin for a moment, before allowing himself to slowly start to drift closer to one of the many tables displaying items for the auction– And whilst it was in part avoidance, there was another part of him that was genuinely curious about the items that had been donated and wanted to get a closer look at some of them. Out of all the DeLuna's who got an invitation to this ball/Gala, Anxo seemed to be the only one somewhat eager to go. His mother and father were seemingly more concerned about the profits for this year, given that they had gone obscenely over the top with the celebration. Everything was star themed, nearly tacky in the little cafe these days. Hopefully that would be over by the time the festival concluded, and the quaint little shop could go back to its normal vibrancy. Izzy, too, had no desire to be here, which he couldn't blame him. He had gotten his own boyfriend, and they were young still. Who would want to go to such a stuffy place with no money, when they could be off frollicing across the city with all sorts of other fun events? Sure, it was an event held to be grateful towards the people around you, but he was still a selfish young man, and had no desire to hang out with his family.. But Anxo... Well, he seemed to be happy to be here. Elated, even! There was something so wonderful about charity balls. The beautiful outfits, the stunning items for sale, and... Getting to see his lover dressed up like this. Anxo himself was wearing a tidy suit, hair slicked back just enough to keep it away from his eyes, but still left loose for the most part. And his hands, well... ... Perhaps he had become a little more adventurous since the last time they decided to go out and enjoy the evening together. His hands wandered every now and then when they were close, fingers brushing gently, teasingly against the other's wrist. Small kisses were stolen when it seemed like no one was looking. And when they perhaps got to a more secluded location, a few tender moments of simply being content to be together. Yes, he had gotten bolder, but still tried to control himself. Arian wasn't quite like him, he was far more private, but that was fine... Perhaps even a bit more fun. He'd behave though, and eventually started to actively look around the event, rather than keeping his eyes on Arian and trying to make him flustered. There was plenty to see and gaze at, even if he was still very certain that Arian was the most beautiful thing in the entire ballroom. "Do you you think you'd buy something today? I'm hoping for something to decorate the shop with but... We'll see what happens, right?" In his own hand he swirled his own cup, peeking at the soda in it, and kinda finding himself not so interested in it, but in Arian's own wandering gaze to the table. "When was the last time we came to one of these things? It's been some time, hasn't it? Ah, but anyway, would you like to go take a look and see if there's anything worth bringing home?" He wouldn't mind a gift or two, or a wall decoration to be placed up somewhere... But if anything, he'd like to find something to give to Arian... Though, that would be a little bit more difficult with the other man standing right there.

Whilst over time, Arian had become more used to the fact that Anxo was a horrible tease, he still couldn't help but feel a little flustered at some of the other's antics - and he just knew from the glint in his boyfriend's eyes and the teasing smile on the other's lips that Anxo was doing it on purpose - just as Anxo equally knew that he didn't truly mind– But whilst the two of them were - in some ways complete polar opposites in some ways (such as the fact that he was reserved and Anxo very much was not) - somehow the two of them had made it work for them It was however, perhaps as well that mind-reading wasn't a skill that Arian could lay claim too, because he most likely would have been very flustered if he'd known that Anxo considered him the most beautiful thing in the ballroom. Instead Arian tilted his head slightly at Anxo's question about whether he was planning to buy anything. "Hmm?" he thought about it for a moment before admitting quietly "I don't know, I mean there's some interesting stuff out on display but I'm not sure if I'll do more than just look." His lips quirked up in a small smile "Maybe, I'll put a bid in if something really, really calls to me." He laughed quietly "Well okay maybe not literally - but yes I wouldn't mind a closer look at some of the items."

"Ahhh, don't say that, you'll jinx it." It was a joke, but the idea of something truly calling out to them seemed far too realistic to happen in this city. They both knew of their powered sides, and they both knew that magical nonsense happened all the time. Almost every 'holiday' was cursed with it. It was more like the surprise of it happening was more about knowing 'when' it will happen, not if. Anxo was truly hoping for something peaceful tonight... A nice, light event, spending a little bit of money, and then going home to cuddle or perhaps something more. He sighed very softly, smiling back and reaching over to properly take his lover's hand into his own. "Well... If you cannot find anything that really really calls out to you, I can always say your name, then you can take me home later. How's that sound?"

"Sorry" Arian said quietly and he meant it - because there had been times in the past where he, or to be accurate Athene, had literally found himself magically dragged to places– And whilst it had been a while since the last time something like that had happened he been around - and had lived in Destiny City - to know better than to jinx things. He walked over to one of the nearby tables which was handing out the star charms that by now seemed to be almost ubiquitous and did his best to surreptitiously tap on the wood of the table before selecting a golden star charm. Hopefully he hadn't been too obvious. Hopefully. Although knowing his luck he had probably totally obvious. Arian's lips quirked up in a small smile at Anxo's comment about him always being able to take him home "Wasn't I going to take you home anyway?" Or maybe it was the other way around given that he was currently staying over at Anxo's apartment. And the smile was still on his lips as he offered over the charm that he'd just picked up "For luck."

Yes, Arian was in fact, very obvious with his movements, but Anxo decided to ignore it. Couldn't ruin the surprise after all, and it was incredibly cute that Arian was trying so hard to be sneaky. "Oh, that's right. You were going to take me home. I'm looking forward to being alone with you, in my arms, and perhaps helping you take those stifling clothes off." Okay, he knew he was pushing it, so he tried to feign innocence, by looking off to the side, suddenly very interested at the table he was next to. Then Arian offered the charm, and he couldn't help but look at him with a soft smile. "Thank you... I'm sure since you're giving it to me, I'll be the luckiest man alive." He drew in a little closer, taking Arian's hand and pressing a soft kiss to the back of it. "Then again, I already am, since you chose me to love."

"I.." Arian gave Anxo a mildly flustered look as he almost dropped the charm that he'd been holding out - and whilst he knew that his boyfriend was most likely deliberately being outrageous, he could still feel his cheeks flushing at Anxo's words. He hesitated for a moment as he managed to awkwardly save the charm from falling, before trying again briefly "Yes, well er..." and then he gave up. "You're deliberately trying to make me blush aren't you?" he mumbled quietly, as Anxo took the charm from him, and whilst Arian had phrased it as a question - it really wasn't– Besides it wasn't as if it wasn't totally working. And it was also unlikely that he was the only one who knew that it was working. It was his turn to suddenly be very interested in one of the nearby tables laden with some of the many items that were to be auctioned, although the interest turned genuine as one of them suddenly caught his eye.

He couldn’t have his love in a puddle on the floor after all. “It’s a lovely charm, really, Arian. You truly are the sweetest thing out here. Hmm? Did something catch your eye?”

"Hmm...?" Arian asked as he stepped closer to the table and towards the item that had caught his eye and it was perhaps a testament to his sudden preoccupation that Anxo's teasing compliments did not elicit the usual flustered response that was his general response. His mind finally caught up with the question as he was close enough to be only few footsteps away from the table. A group in front of him causing him to pause in order to let them complete their perusal of the items on display. "Oh," Arian blinked and then half-turned so that he could look up at Anxo "Sorry" because he had gotten a little distracted - well okay perhaps perhaps more like a fair bit distracted. He nodded and then pointed to the item in question - a mirror set in an ornately carved dark wooden frame that somehow managed to avoid looking 'fussy' "Yes that one over there."

"It's fine, really. There's quite a few interesting things up there, so I can't blame you at all." His eyes followed the finger, then finally seeing the fancy mirror that lied on the table. No wonder it caught his eye, it was gorgeous. Simple, yet ornate, rustic, yet clearly a treasure. Suiting of his dear Arian, in a way. "Go on, you can take a closer look. If you like it, then it's yours." litian Now it's time for ME to apologize! I'm so sorry for the wait!

Arian's lips quirked up in a small smiles as he nodded before shifting closer to to the table so that he could get a better look at the mirror that had caught his attention. It was even more striking up close, seemingly carved out of a single piece of wood, and whilst Arian was admittedly not a woodsman (or even remotely close to being one), it would have been hard to miss the care that the crafter had been put into it. He had found himself shifting a little closer, wanting to take in some more of the details, still half-dithering over whether to put in a bid in although leaning strongly towards a yes– The sensation of sadness had hit without warning, Arian unbeknownst to himself freezing almost rigidly in place, gaze still fixed on the mirror. Although to call the feeling, the pain, terror, rage, anguish, sorrow that washed over him like a sudden punch to gut 'sadness', was to perhaps trivalise the feeling - the feeling that he couldn't put a name to, couldn't put a reason to. There was a buzzing, a buzzing that suddenly resolved into words, into concern. "I'm fine." Was that really his voice? "I'm fine" Arian was backing away from the table as he spoke, not noticing the way that his cheeks were damp in his sudden need to put as much distance between himself and the mirror as he could. Kapoodles I think that's the last of my owed tags for you, but please poke me if I've missed one and I'll get to it as soon as I can <3
