Strange things appear in Destiny City all the time, so nothing seems out of the ordinary about what might look like discarded trash, broken glass, or pieces of broken jewelry. If anyone were to lean in for a closer inspection, they might find a beautiful, gemstone like object that is shaped a bit like a star. They come in an array of colors and almost seem to have some sort of light sparkling in them.
Ryan wandered around the festival a little more after making his wish at the tree, smiling and laughing at all the fun happening. The nighttime had never felt more alive and carefree in his life, and he cherished every moment of it. He played a few of the silly booth games, making a noise of shock when he actually won one. And one for the largest stuffed animal at that, nearly half his whole body size. The booth runner also passed him a new star charm; yet another different color from before, and he pocketed it.
He scanned the choices before settling on the giant porcupine, some odd feeling about it telling him to. His impulses didn't usually steer him wrong, so he listened to it and took the giant thing. It was only after he had it in his hands... arms... and all over his torso and face that he realize he couldn't exactly walk around the festival like this. Well, it wasn't like the whole carnival would just disappear if he took a half hour or so to walk this ridiculous thing home and put it away. At least it was very soft. He could probably use it as a pillow, he mused to himself as he toddled back through the streets. Only being able to see about half of what he could, even with constant readjusting of the animal in his arms, made for slow, careful going. The last thing he needed was to run over some poor dog or child or something.
He tossed the poor plushie down in the middle of the living room his apartment door opened into, then thought about it for a second and tossed the kettle corn down, too, a little more gently. He didn't need to be snacking on it all night at the festival. Plus, he could always get more if he craved it. First, though, he had to get back and probably find a proper dinner item, at least.
Frowning as he started walking back, he realized he felt kind of cold now, without the silly plush. Eh, he just needed to eat something hot. Even for a hot night.
He hummed to himself as he weaved back down the streets. A sparkle in the alleyway caught his eye and he kicked curiously at the colored glass with a sad sigh. He hated litter. There wasn't much he could do about it, though, except kick it back towards the alley instead of letting it linger too close to the walkway. A star-shaped piece popped out at him and he decided to pick it up, letting out a low whistle. Huh. This looked... like it'd been part of something expensive once, or something. It was beautiful, and the orange-ish-red nearly matched his hair. He chuckled at the coincidence and pocketed it on an impulse. This is how you end up with tons of junk, y'know, he told himself, but unable to bring himself to toss it away again. It was pretty; maybe it could serve a purpose somehow.
He returned to wandering, his hand in his pocket, constantly running over the curious little star. It wasn't like anything he'd ever really seen before. He really liked it, and was very, very glad he'd found it just by kicking away some jerk's stupid broken beer bottles. Saved the day a little bit and scored a neat little curio for himself. Very small changes, but Ryan knew that something small didn't necessarily mean it was worthless. There was that... time-space thingie called the... Buggie Effect, or whatever it was. Who knew! Maybe finding this neat little star was the thing that would save his a** somehow later. A few seconds made the difference for lots of things. Making the next green light at traffic, or something. Maybe he'd miss getting hit by a car.
Or maybe it was radioactive and he'd turn into the Hulk or something!
He laughed at himself quietly. Yeah, right. Still, it was a nice thought.
