Quote: The Charity Benefit (1) - A number of the local businesses in the area have come together to organise a charity benefit. In addition to a silent auction, there is also an evening charity ball. The community has been wanting to raise funds to fix up a few public areas for some time now and in the spirit of the Star Festival, these businesses have donated several prizes to the event to encourage people to attend. As one of the local residents you have been kindly invited to attend! Formal attire is encouraged but only required if you plan to attend the Ball. It was hot, the air dry and unyielding, and Yolanda was glad Ezekiel wanted to dress efffeminately. They werte following invitation to the DC Charity Ball and the family's unspoken patriarch, Vincent, insisted the pair go -- Zayne worked all nice and Vincent meant to change and join them for the formal basll after work. For now Ezekiel walked his cousin down the street. Looking at them, one would believe Yolie was the hunter, the trapper -- not Ezeniel, who was dressed up with far more detail. Yolie wore a shimmering iridescent white down with no sleeves, matching slip-ons, and polain ice blue makeup and drop earrings. Ezekiel wore a shgimmering light blue gown wwith ruffles and layers that danced and shone. They wore high heels, a necklace or three, a bracelet, and an elegant makeup, hair tied in an updo with hairsticks and extewnsions and barettes, and yet, the gentle soul was Yolie. "Are you sure you don't want your hair done in an updo, Yolie?" Ezekiel intewrrupted YYolie's thoughts to look over. "I'm sure. You used the uniform sparkle barettes on you." She giggled. Her cousin considered this, and then bowed, looking downright wounded. "I have plenty!" "Should I be usinmmg your drag queen name?" Yolie asked, and Ezekiel put serious thoiught into their answer, sighed, looked down, and shook his head. "No, no, I just felt like wearing my favorite things if I must dsress for this empty headed endeavour. I'd much rather browse the stalls of vendors." He determined, and smiled at her. "I thought you were looking at tucxcedos? You';d look very nice in one, Yolie." The woman turned red. "Thery're a smidge expensive." She admitted. Ezekiel clucked his tongue. "A bespoke tuxedo is always a good investment." He affirmed, then paused at something moving, and turned to watched before he seemed to darken, looking for the source as Yolie followed. "Zeke?" She asked. The taller cousin growled. "I thought I dsaw an animal." "It's probably a stray animal, Zeke." Yolie said saiftly. The thouight crossed Ezekiel as she said it, and he smiled. "If it is, we'll try to help it, if you like,. Yolie." Zeke soothed, then began looking, moving eeriuly silently for someone in high heels./ "Now, where are you..." Soleiyu had been following the chittering duo for a little bit of time; he trailed them with just a bit of distance, keen on not being spotted while he tried to decipher which of the two was responsible for the unawakened starseed he was picking up.
One of them was definitely a senshi, but...
They were too close to each other for him to figure it out, and he wasn't so bold as to just waltz right out and confront them to figure out who it was.
No, eventually they would have to go their separate ways and he'd be able to figure out who, exactly, he needed to have a talk with. He wasn't a small cat by any means, and his long, white fur was absolutely well maintained and stood out in the darkness of the night as he followed them.
Soleiyu was not particularly shy about anything, so hiding didn't really suit him. He let out a frustrated little sigh as he trotted after them, trying to stay out of the way while simultaneously never letting his gaze stray as he looked between the two.
There were times when he couldn't hide from sight, so he just did his best to stay close to them--just not close enough to draw their attention.
Except, he was getting impatient.

Yolie was all the ready to move along without the pretense of trouble, assuming that her cousin saw a stray, but she heard a sigh, the sound that of something sentient and not the general "huff" of an annoyed pet. No, this was long and distinctly frustrated, and Yolie stopped firsty to turn, looking back to spy wshite fur trailing. Ezekiel paused beside her and blinked, head tilting as he looked to his cousin before following her gaze. "Oh." Ezekiel broke the quiet with a bored tone, as the sound of sighing, he presumed, was Yolie. "Yolie, sweetie. She's just a cat." Yolie paused, cvonsidering. "Might be a he, Zeke. Hang on. I heard the poor thing sigh." Yolie admitted. Ezekiel blinked in confusion, but watched. Visibly, he had no clue what his copusin was thinking. Cats did not sigh. They huffed and stared and hunted, not... Sighed. Yolie knew better, though. The girl sighed and approached Soleiyyu a bit, hands up to prove she was unarmed, and decided to take a risk. "Ssssoooo.... Something I can help with?" Yolie knelt down, offering to pick him up. "You weren't quiet sighing. No offense. What's up? You can tell me." She waited until Zeke rolled his eyes, and flicked out her henshin pen. She didn't know if cats could be chaos but... Well, if thwey were they probably were less cautious. It was worth a shot, and she lowered her voice for the mauvian only. "My cousin doesan't really know, but if there's something you need help with I can send him on and help out." There was no reason to make him feel any more frustrated than his sigh indicated -- and Yolie loved to hjelp! Zeke watched his cousin, not moving several moments before finally, he motioned to Soleiyu. "You're talking to a cat." He noted. Yolie glowered over her shoulder. "Yeah well you and Zayne talk to your manga collection, don't go judhgging me." "I'm not." Zeke then snorted. "I'm just worried about you talking to cats."

For a long moment, the cat just blinked at them--and then breathed a little sigh of relief. "Okay, it's you, then." He looked to said cousin, and then back to the one speaking to him--Yolie, he deduced.
"Being a Senshi must run in the family. I was trying to figure out which one of you I was picking up, but if you're already awakened, it must be you."
He looked up at Ezekiel, and then back at Yolie.
"I don't suppose you've told him about being a Senshi and saved me all the legwork, have you?"

"Runs -- oh, bloody hell." Yolie sighed, but didn't move to stop him. He was already going to do what he must, and she was going to support it, even if Zeke was going to ear her for hiding things. Already, the young man was looking over his cousin appraisingly, curious -- and visibly fascinated - by things before looking to Soleiyu. Hm. Somere cats talked. Fascinating. And Yolie was hiding information? Well."I'm afraid this is the first she''s acted outside the ordinary, isn't it?" Yolie sigherd,. "I'll field this. Senshi arte m agic people who fight to protect the world from chaos -- putting it simplistically. I'veww had a good amount of experience in this though so I can say using that is only a start. Y'know, people. There's also uh... Monster.. Fighting...." There was an awkward laugh, and Zeke's eyes suddenly narrowed. " Monsters? Like the one that killed your father?" Yolie bit her thumb and looked down and away, trying to not cry before Ezekiel sighed and shoiok his head before frowning, looking to Soleiyu. "I'm not good with strangers so I'll be upfront. YYolie only mentioned a monster, and what it did, once. Nothing welse. Am I sdafe assuming that was for safety?" He was irritated for sure, but not angry, nor did he pusdh the matter with his cousin at her upset. Eyes instead fell to Soleiyu, looking for what he wasn't going to press his cousin to tears over.

Soleiyu glanced to the girl, obviously considerate of her tears. His long tail curled, wrapping around her ankle as if to offer some sort of assurance as he looked to Ezekiel. "The less you know the better, unless you're a part of the war. And I'd be a fool to let you wander off without giving you the chance to fight. I won't lie, it's dangerous. But you've already got family involved that can help look after you."
He sucked in a breath, "There's a darkness in this world--more than just 'monsters'. There's a whole army of people looking to draw all of the life, all of the energy out of the people of this planet, to feed into a dark power they don't understand. And she bends them to her will, and we need soldiers willing to see the evil for what it is and fight. There's a reason you're here, in Destiny City. And I want to give you the power to keep this city, this planet, your friends and family--everyone--safe."
He took a little step back and turned his head; when he turned back, there was a pen in his mouth. He laid it on the ground in front of Zeke. "...So if you choose to accept that responsibility, that power, pick up that pen and say 'Susanoo Planet Make Up', and I'll tell you everything."

"Noirmally Zayne or I are watching over her, in honesty." Ezekiel said, voice both soft, for him, but firm. He smoothed his gown calmly as if he grew upo in dresses and gowns, then, he smilerd just a bit. Normally, he was standoffish or distant but this cat was polite, and he could tell he cared and was tryiong. Good enough, seeing him trying to work and soothe his cousin. He listened with rapt focus, eyes on Soleiyu yto take in information before daintily dtepping forwards, heels clacking on cement before he knelt with practiced grace and took the pen, rising slowly. He was silernt and considering, expression inperceptible before a low, cold laugh came from him for a moment, and he wasted no words bar wqhat was needed. "Susanoo Power, Make up.." Admittedly, he was impressed when the sparkles faded. Ther fuku was comfortable and he smiled a bit, half cold, half excitted. A hakama -- he looked quite like he stepped from an anime, which suited Sailor Susanoo just fine before he laughed again. "These monsters and their handlers. Theyt murdered my Uncle Reggie and hurt my cousin enough to be despondent -- but they hurt myt father, too. I like this gift. I like it very much." Sailor Susanoo weas beaming, and then Yolie shifted, sniuffling before withdrawing her pen shakily and ppowering up herself before kneeling to scoop Soleiyu up carefully, somewhat protective of the cat. She wanted to reassure him Susanoo wasn't a threat. "Don't... snf.. Don't be creepy in front of the kitty. Save it for the youma. Or if you're attacked. I'm.. I'm not healing you if you get scratched." Susanoo snorted, and reached, rubbing one of Solewiyu's ears. "Hurt him? I wouyldn't him[i]dream[//i] of it. You're a good little soul indeed, cat. I like you. I like this."

The laugh was reassuring, and a weight drifted from Soleiyu's shoulders. Most people didn't take to powering up so well and he only hoped that it was a good sign of things to come. "I'm sorry you've lost so much already," Soleiyu said.
This was a war no one asked to fight in, and there were far too many innocent casualties already.
When he was lifted up, he bumped his head against the girl's chin, and even tilted his head a bit to allow Susanoo to get a better angle and rub a little deeper.
"You like it now, but wait until you have to work," the Mauvian grumbled. "It's not all fun and games and pretty costumes. Can you fight? ...Both of you," he clarified, because he couldn't just be satisfied with one Senshi tonight; he was going to look after both of them.

Susanoo rubbed a bit, Dubhe hjoining by holding Soleiyu carefully and rubbing his chest. She was tall, and Susanoo taller still by three inches, and when Dubhe arched a brow,, he tilted his head before speaking calmly. "I can fight. More than with Zayne. Father works in security, and he ensured we both can." Then he moptioned. "And she rough housed with both of us growing up." A pause, before Dubhe looked horribly awkward. "I've fought plenty, actually, including getting drained a bit one time. I might've taken a page from Susanoo and his brothewr's bookl that day...." Susanoo paused. "Did tyhey walk away?" "Sadly." Then she rubbed a bit more. "I also know my magic, but we'll need to test Sussy's, somehow." Dubhe admitted, and hummed. "When I find something I can hold for him to experiument on."

Soleiyu nodded, seeming a bit relieved by all of it. "I've met so many who have never had to fight. I worry. But if you've got experience--and each other--it's a good sign. Magic will be something you rely on, Susanoo. Unfortunately, your enemies in this war have the benefit of magic--or, in the worst case, weapons. So you'll need to get comfortable with your magic, soon."
His tail twitched as he looked between the two of them.
"I'm fortunate to know many senshi. And more fortunate to know that if you need help, they are available. I don't want either of you to ever feel like you have to deal with things alone. I'll make sure you can contact me so we can work something out. The most important thing of all of this is that you're not alone, all right? --And I'll always be here to help you. For anything you might need. Any questions, any training--anything. All right? We're a team. I won't ever abandon you."

"Magic." Susanoo repeated promptly, brow arching. ""Well, I've hunted with traditional weaponry." He shrugged, reaching to rub Soleiyu's ear again, humman thoughtfully. "A new tool is always of use however. As for their weapons, so long as it isn't a gun I'm not overly worried. I won't lie and say it doesn't hurt. I'm saying it's not a problem." Dubhe sighed, staring at him. "Most normal people don't brawl with their brother for fun, Zeke. You and Zayne are ruthless." She rolled her eyes before pausin, frowning. "I feel it worth warning being senshi might sometimes make you a bigger targbet for attack as well. I was drained because I was too lax patrollling, and got off guard." A pause, and, a sigh. "And then there was the fact growing up the only girl around rowdy boys helped...." Then she sighed and shook her head and bit her lip thoughtfully. "I don't know... I'vew been powered a couple years now and nobody on the saide of Order seemed toi know I exist. I self-teach." Susanoo blinkewd, shrugging, and rubbed Soleiyu's ear, moving to scratch his chin. "Being powered alonme over a year is one thing but cous, don't be daft. Now I feel like you have all kinds ofd bad habits." He chided. "I can sweep kiuck anyone, you huish." Dubhe pouted. Susanoo ignored her. "Now, there, see, this is why I worry about my cousin. Shew's stubborn. Tell me more, I'm curious." SOMEONE was intrigued. Dubhe stuck her tongue out.

Soleiyu was thriving under all of the attention and nuzzled every hand that came too close. Maybe some might have considered it an intrusion, or thought he was demeaning himself, but really, this was basically being worshipped and he was living for it.
"Traditional weaponry might not help you so much here, and it's dangerous to try and take anything out while you're powered up. The Negaverse have so many tricks--the last thing you want to do is give away anything about yourself that could let them track you down. It's one thing to come to a fight armed and ready--but the Negaverse don't play fair. If they find out who you are? They're not the sort to just show up and try to end you--they'll use everything they can against you. Abduct--hurt--people close to you. Sometimes for no reason other than just to unnerve you, to get you off your game. It's sneaky, and it's cruel."
He looked between the two of them. "...I just want you two to be okay. I know you didn't ask to be drafted into this. You shouldn't have to do any of it alone. You should make friends--allies. You never know when you might need them."

"So... Zayne, if he powers." Susanoo remarked. He was happy to indulge the feline, scratching and rubbing ears, petting -- then he carefully took him from Sailor Dubhe when she seemed to witgher and frown, not really saying anything when Susanoo knew -- knew she was down again. Esopecially that look since her father died. "See, normally she'd basck me aboutr my twin." Susanoo commented. "Here we go -- kind oif a pity Dad's not magic. He knows what to do." Dubhe remained quiet. Laodica had gone. Her father was gone. Really, she knew of one Order -- Hyakutake -- and one Chaos -- Armoiica -- she felt trustworthy, and she sighed, chewing her lip. "I've seen others." Dubjhe offered. "But none of them seem to notice me, so..." A shrug. "I have all of two friends, really." Susanoo stared, and looked at Soleiyu. "How do people not noitice..? I'm not.. Great.. At people... My cousin is literally a cinnamon roll/."

Soleiyu made a little grunting noise, even as he bumped against the hands petting him, clearly pleased. "...I can't answer that question, I'm sorry. But if you need to meet more cinnamon rolls, I can introduce you. I know everyone."
Or, at least, he knew 'everyone' that was important to him.
"You two should stay powered down for now. Go home and talk about this. And I'll give you my number, you can call me. We can plan something. I'll help train you, or answer your questions--we'll plan something and I'll take care of you, all right?"

"My father wants to meet us at an event, alas. But we can talk afterwards." Susanoo admitted. Sailor Dubhe shrugged for her part. Disconnected as she was, she wasn't aware they had many oithers./ Some, not many, and she shighed a little bit ., letting Susanoo work on powering down. "A number might be good." She admitted, thoughtfully as she watched Zeke smooth out the dress he'd departed in neatly. Dubhe was slower to power down, still thoughtful. "I mean, at least he's fiune until we're home, Won't be the first time I've pulled him from trouble." Yolanda smirked as Zeke froiwned. " Excuse you, I'm perfectly fine in new situations." He protested, looking to Soleiyu fgor backup. Yoplie snorted amusement. "You punched a man out for commenting opn your assets on a draag day, mister tempramental." "He was lewd!"
