You find yourselves in an unfamiliar forest of dead trees. When you look up, you spot a bundle of seeds high up in the canopy. You must work together to collect these seeds to return them to Homewood.
A still calming quite falls between Noulicorn and familiar. Their breathing falls into sink as the smoke swirls and fills their lungs. They wait for whatever is to come but unsure of what that might be. Sure Betty had been on her own quest but this was bonding one soul to another it had to be different.
A small guess of wind blows the smoke clearing the veiw. They both gasp at the sight. What was once boggy marsh is now replaced with large massive red wood trees but neither of them can place where there are or even how they got there. "Wow" is all Chenoa can say with her wide eye look. Betty was just as shocked but she could not form the words.
Looking all around they started to explore their new surroundings. Looking up to the tippy top of the canopy above, Betty spots something not tree like at all. "What the heck is that?" She said more to herself then Chenoa but Chenoa heard and so looked up as well. "It looks like...maybe it's a bag of seeds. Ya know like the ones the farming nouls carry during planting season." Betty strand to look but had to nod in agreement; it really did look like a farming bag of seeds.
"We should probably get it down and take it to the farmers then." Betty was not looking forward to this but she knew how important ever seed in Vykeli was so they had little choice in the matter. "So then How do we get up there?" Chenoa festered to herself and the pointed upward along with her words. Betty had no idea how but they needed to try.
An idea popped into Betty's head. Walking over to the tree she rose up the struck it with her front hoofs. Chenoa snorted with a laugh but chocked it down when Betty shot her a motherly look. She had hoped the bag would lose and fall a little closer down if not all the way but the tree was far to strong for a small noulicorn. "Maybe you can through a stick to knock it down some?" Betty suggested. Chenoa looked back and forth between Betty and the bag. "How in the world am I going to throw a stick that high. She had a good point but how else where they going to get the bag.
Looking around the area Betty could see that there was a very tall pine tree next to the tree holding the bag. The pine tree was great for climbing so maybe if Betty could lift Chenoa up high enough then Chenoa could climb high up jump across, knock the bag down and come back down the way she came up. Betty relayed the plain Chenoa who seemed to agree it was their best shot.
Betty boosted Chenoa up as high as she could into the limbs of the pine tree. Chenoa wobbly climb up and called back down. "I want it on record that Jack hops are not bird or catbeast and climbing up trees are not our thing." Betty chuckled at her friend because despite being a jack hop Chenoa was moving through and up the tree pretty well.
Has Chenoa reach a branch that was level with the bag she knew she would have to still go higher is she was going to make the jump across. Looking down for the first time she became very dizzy and slipped a little but caught herself. Betty from before called out "Are you ok Chenoa?" The worry in her voice was heavy. "Ya... Ya I am fine. Just have to remember not to look down." Betty was pacing back a forth at this point. It was hard to be at the bottom and useless at the moment.
Chenoa climbs up a few more feet above the bag taking extra care not to look down all the way this time. "Ok I'm going to jump." She calls down to Betty in case she does not make the jump Betty readies herself for the catch. " 1..." Chenoa's heart starts to race. "2..." Now her breathing picks up with the adrenaline from fear cording through her. "3..." Pushing all that down she jumps into the air focusing only on her target; the bag.
Betty watches fro below but is unable to breath as she sees her friend leap into the air. The Great Tree favored them though because with grace and ease Chenoa lands perfectly on the branch just in front of the seed bag. Shakie but excited, Chenoa belly crawls to the bag and knocks it over falling down to the waiting Betty who catches it with ease and a small thud. " Ok I am going to jump back now." With that she keeps back over to the pine tree with a little more conference then the first time. But she miss judged the branch she was aiming for and it snaps sending her falling to her death below. Betty however was ready and peeps into the air with all her noulicorn might and catches Chenoa our of thin air.
Both painting for air hearts racing and sweat dripping they lay down completely spent with their heads resting against each other's and their eyes closed. It takes a few minutes form their nerves to settle but soon their breathing is back to normal and their heart claim down. At first they don't notice the change but the smell alters them, they had returned to the bog. Opening their eyes they both look around and see their are next to the now dead fire and in the bog once more. They had completed the bonding quest and there was something different between them. With no words they waited for the bond to finish taking hold but they knew they would never be the same again.
