Lightning flashed above, causing Brexxa to flinch a little, then rolling thunder followed. She was too busy clinging to the door frame to do anything else. Her dad was somewhere on deck helping with the rigging and she was worried. The storm was coming in fast and from the ugly looks of the grey sky it wasn't going to be a nice one.

She turned her head to look around again, just as the rain went from a light drizzle to a full on downpour. Brexxa angled her head down to avoid the water in her eyes but when another flash and boom came she let out a small shriek. Storms had never been her thing, even back home in Matori, but here on the ship she knew her dad couldn't baby her. He was busy doing his job so she would have to deal somehow.

Looking to maybe grow Daspien, open to powering through this?

[1/10]

Daspien was running around the ship, supporting in whatever way he could. Still young and inexperienced, he often would do the menial work, like cleaning and rope rigging. During storms, which he didn't have much experience at all, he would either get called to provide some extra muscle or ordered to go below deck and stay out of the way.

As the rain picked up, it seemed the crew was getting tired of his presence, as an order was barked for him to get below deck and ensure the stock was well secured. Not one to ask questions, the Yaeli hybrid rushed away from the ran, slipping a bit as he went.

It was only as the lightning flashed ahead that he heard a shriek before the boom of thunder, and he turned to catch sight of Brexxa clinging to the door.

"What are you doing? Get below deck before you get in trouble!"

Elyessi
I can try!

She heard a voice tell her to get below deck before she got in trouble and she had to squint to look up at who it was. Brexxa seemed frozen in place for the most part. "B-but my dad.." She started before peeling her stiff fingers off the doorframe and pointing out across the deck.

If she was being honest she wasn't even sure which blurry body belonged to Gael. Through the haze of the rain it could have been any one of them. Well, except for maybe the skinny one.

When she brought the gaze back to the person who told her to get below she seemed to have a full wide eyed, scared deer caught in torch lights type of look.

Daspien pushed his hand through his hair, the sopping wet locks falling on his face and dripping as if they were part of the rain. Letting out a huff, he noticed that the girl mumbled something before pointing out across the deck. Turning his head, he squinted until he could make out the hulking form of one of the senior sailors, clearly wrestling with the mast to ensure that they made it through this storm.

Turning back, he noticed Brexxa's eyes wide, her face seemingly pale as she looked at him. What was she doing? What was the point?

"They've got it covered, you're doing no good up here!" He shouted back, before reaching out to try and push her down below the deck. If she was related to one of these sailors and ended up getting hurt, he'd never hear the end of it.

Elyessi

When she was pushed her grip on the doorway slipped. Her hands were soaked from the rain at that point and she had no hope of being strong enough to stay in place. Brexxa squeaked at being pushed and stumbled a little before she braced herself against the wall of the small hall. Her gaze slipped past the boy to see if she could see anything beyond the pouring rain before she looked back at him.

She seemed to finally register that she would be of no use on deck and attempted to turn around to head back down. A bright flash made her stiffen and the loud clack of thunder that followed made her bring her hands up to her ears to cover them as she shrieked. Storms were really not her thing.
