Quote: Strange things appear in Destiny City all the time, so nothing seems out of the ordinary about what might look like discarded trash, broken glass, or pieces of broken jewelry. If anyone were to lean in for a closer inspection, they might find a beautiful, gemstone like object that is shaped a bit like a star. They come in an array of colors and almost seem to have some sort of light sparkling in them.

What with being in his final year for classes at Azure and having to think about college in the autumn, this year had ended up turning into quite a busy year - enough so that Briar hadn't managed to get out as Oort quite as much as he'd used to–
In fact, truthfully, getting out as Oort was just one of the many things that he hadn't managed to do over the past year and a half (or thereabouts) that he hadn't managed to do quite as much as he used to, with it feeling like most of his life was spent in the library these days - at least that is - most of his life when not at school.
Today, however, had been a rare break from classes and studying due to the fact that his brother was going to be in town soon for a visit.
It was a while since he'd seen Scott, since his older brother had moved away for college and hadn't moved back on finishing. In fact, if Briar remembered right, he had moved again at some point over the past 2 years and was now living with his girlfriend who lived pretty much on the other side of the States to where he and their parents were in Destiny City.
And whilst a part of him couldn't help but be disappointed that his brother hadn't been able to make it back in time for this year's Star festival, Briar had figured that he could at least take some time to wander through the festival himself and see if he could pick up something from one of the stalls and had ended up picking up a star-themed journal and some star-shaped sweets that he'd thought that Scott might like.
He'd unexpectedly ended up with something for himself as well, in the form of the crimson charm, that the stall-holder had slipped in the bag after explaining that they were being given out free with each stall purchase - and while he wasn't quite sure what he was going to do with it, the charm had eventually ended up finding its way out of the bag and into his pocket–
Well okay make that Briar's pocket.
After the earlier excursion to the festival, Briar hadn't quite felt like going home - which had led to himself instead finding somewhere secluded to powering up into Oort.
It was perhaps habit that had had him ending up down at the park, by the tree which he and Euporie tended to still meet, the meeting tree one where they both also met unpowered - at least when he had the time for it.
It was just him today, the nearby children's playground deserted and the rest of the park mostly empty.
Oort hoisted himself up into one of the lower branches of the tree, too heavy these days for some of the higher branches that he used to climb up to when he was younger, reddish eyes glancing out and over at the park.
He almost missed the sparkle - almost, the small twinkle from down on the ground barely noticeable–
But it was just on the right side of out of place that he'd found himself eventually abandoning his branch perch in favour of taking a closer look at where he'd seen it.
Even so it had taken longer than he'd liked to actually find the source of the twinkle - had been on the verge of almost giving up when at last he'd found the small, somewhat star-shaped object that looked as pretty as a gemstone - a gemstone with what appeared to be some sort of light sparkling in its blue depths.
Oort wrapped it carefully in his sash, a part of him planning to show it to Euporie when the two of the finally managed to get a chance to next meet up. For now though, it was getting late - late enough that it was probably time for him to make a start on heading in the direction of home.
