Quote: It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be pink, blue, and even purple in color. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it.

Reports had said that there would be a meteor shower tonight, which was Liryn had found himself out at the part on this particular evening.
He was in cat-cat form, because whilst the other form was an option, it was also one that drew far too much attention - and Liryn was truly only out because he wanted to watch the meteor shower–
That wasn't to say that he wouldn't leave his comfortable perch from up on the small hillock, that not only let him look out and over the part but also gave him a good view of the sky - but it would need a good reason - a very good reason.
It seemed, at least for the moment, that such a reason would be forthcoming however given that he wasn't picking up on any order or chaotic auras that would have been something that would have been on his list to prompt investigation.
Liryn tilted his head up, his purplish eyes scanning the sky in anticipation.
Based on the reports he was pretty sure that the meteor shower would be starting soon-ish–
And he didn't intend to miss a single bit of it.Shanyume Hope this works as a start for you Shan, but let me know if I need to tweak anything

The Destiny City Star Festival was as lively as it was last year, or at least what Elissia could remember of it. Surprised to say that a full year had already passed but when working full time while taking night classes, the days just seem to bleed into each other without her really even noticing. It was late, the sun had just set no more than a half-hour ago and normally, by now, she would be home getting ready for bed. However, the weatherman had predicted clear skies this evening which meant that, for the first time, she would be able to watch the meteor shower rather than just look up videos of it online. Elissia had left downtown where all the lights would make it hard to view the spectacle, and found a place in a more rural part of destiny city with an open field with a neighborhood park atop a small hill near one of the places where she practiced her falconry. It was a wide-open space and thankfully she didn’t have to worry about trespassing on private property as it seemed a few others had a similar idea. From where she stood there were at least two sets of couples laying out blankets to stargaze without having to worry about bugs crawling on them. After eating the last wedge of her mandarine orange, she walked over to the garbage to dispose of the rine. The sweetness was refreshing especially after such a long day with all the walking she had done. She wondered for a few minutes, her gaze skirting over the horizon until they settled upon a small form parched on the hill. For a moment she thought the dark silhouette was a rock, or perhaps an opossum. But as she got closer she noticed the twin triangle shaped ears atop its head. Elissia lowered herself to her knees and reached out a hand, “Hey sweetie. Shouldn’t be out here all alone.” She made a clicking sound to get the feline’s attention and hopefully coax it to come near so she could see if it at least had a collar on so she could take the little cat home.

Whilst access to the hillock wasn't something that was just limited to just feline paws, it was somewhere that Liryn normally had to himself–
And so it had taken a while for him to realise that someone was actually approaching rather than simply passing by below.
Purplish eyes turned away from their perusal of the night sky at the sound of the voice, as Liryn glanced curiously at the pale-haired woman crouched down with hand outstretched, a sense of familiarity about her - although Liryn couldn't quite place why.
There was something else about her too, a feeling - and it was a combination of the two that had him crossing the short distance separating them - however it was only as he was gently butting his hand against the offered hand with a purr that Liryn suddenly recalled why the woman seemed so familiar–
Because she looked just like the woman who he had briefly crossed paths with last year - the one that had been so indignant on his behalf at the star on his forehead.Shanyume I made a very brief reference to last year's rp - let me know if that works

“Hmm?” In a moment of confusion, her brows furrowed as he approached. However, once he got close enough for her to see Elissia smiled softly at him. “I remember you,” she commented as she gently tapped the star on his forehead. It was hard, yet smooth, just as she remembered from last year; not at all like the stickers, kids were putting on animals heads. “Still quite the enigma.” Elissia took a seat in the grass beside him then turned her hand so she could offer him scritches behind his ear and beneath his chin. For so long she had been used to handling birds of prey with their glossy smooth feathers that it came as a surprise as to just how soft his fur was. “Seems like someone’s been taking care of you at least.” From what she could tell there weren’t any mats to worry about. She sighed, then tilted her head up at the clear dark blue almost black colored sky just as a streak of light shot across the far horizon. “Looks like the meteor shower is starting!” It might seem odd to onlookers that she was talking to an animal but such was her life since she worked at the zoo. Animals were just easier for her to connect with as opposed to people especially this cat but for reasons she couldn’t explain.

It had turned out from the woman's comments that she was the same woman who he had crossed paths with during last year's festival and Liryn had purred cheerfully at her enigma comment, feline amusement in his eyes.
A part of him had wondered if the woman was planning to watch the meteor shower too as she set herself down on the grass next to him, although Liryn honestly didn't mind having the company–
And he was particularly happy to have the company when the woman had turned her palm in an offer of scritches, another purr rumbling in his throat as he once again butted his head gently against her palm - because he wasn't about to turn down the offer of free scritches.
Purplish eyes had closed contentedly as the woman's hands seemed to almost unerringly find the niggling itch at the back of his ear, although they had drifted back open as she mentioned that the shower was started, Liryn's head tilting upwards in time to catch the first star as it streaked across the sky.
The sense of something from earlier was back too, even as more stars started to streak across the sky, almost as if chasing the one that had gone first–
And it had felt almost like a spark.
Was it.. Was it potential that he was picking up on?

“It might sound silly, but I can’t help but wonder what kind of worlds are out there.” Be it an open terrain that had been untouched by human-like beings, or grand civilizations with their own culture and beliefs. “There’s no way we are the only living beings in this galaxy, not that I particularly believe in little green aliens abducting people. But on nights like this, I like to pick a random star and consider what it might be like living there.” Her eyes scanned the horizon, following an invisible line between stars like a dot puzzle in the sky. As the moments passed there were more meteors cutting across the night sky in a streak of bright lights. “Who knows, we might be making wishes on falling angels.” Elissia laughed at how dumb the idea sounded after the suggestion already left her lips. She had never really been much into stargazing but natural phenomena like this were worth taking time to pause and appreciate the wonder and beauty of it all.

The sense of something had continued to linger as the pale haired woman continued to speak and it was strange because it wasn't something that he had picked up on when they had crossed paths last year–
But tonight, on a night where the stars danced across the sky in a beautiful display, Liryn was sure that he had felt something - similar but not quite the same as on the previous occasions that he had felt the almost spark-like feeling - for all that it had been a while since he had last felt it.
It was the purple star, that danced amongst the streaming fragments of white and yellow as the woman talked about wondering about different worlds that was out there that made Liryn make the decision to take the chance.
The curiously uniquely coloured star feeling almost like a sign.
A glance from purplish eyes suggested that they were alone up on the hillock and there didn't seem to be anyone below–
And he wasn't picking up on any auras either.
"It's not silly at all" he said deliberately, as he turned his head slightly in order to let his purplish eyes stare up at the woman as a pink fragment crossed the sky "There are a lot of worlds out there."
Adding, because it was true "But I haven't been to nearly as many as I'd like" because Liryn liked to visit home worlds and wonders and secretly had plans to try and visit all of them one day.

Elissia’s head snapped to the side thinking that someone had snuck upon them. However, there was nobody there. The only movement she saw came from the blade of grass dancing in the wind around them; everything else was still. Her gaze then fell down to the cat and she canted her head to the side curiously before lifting him up to eye level, but not so high that his back paws were lifted off her lap. There was a beaded charm hanging from his collar and Elissia had to wonder if it was some sort of a tracking device for the cat or some trinket used to play jokes on people by making them think that the feline could actually speak. “Say that again?” She asked hesitantly but wanted to see if this was all somehow in her head or at least confirm that the cat’s mouth wasn’t moving like a poorly rendered CGI movie.

The woman's reaction was one that Liryn was familiar with and had been half expecting–
Well make that mostly familiar, as he was pretty sure that the being lifted to eye level part was new.
Liryn was more amused than anything else, the amusement reflected in his purplish eyes. Although his cheerful voice was patient as he dutifully repeated what he;d said.
"I said that it's not silly at all and also that there are a lot of worlds out there, although I haven't been to nearly as many as I'd like."
And he'd said 'but' originally rather than 'although', however Liryn didn't think that the substitute in word would make much of a difference.

“Um…” In that moment, Elissia’s jaw dropped and eyebrows nearly vanished into her hairline. “I…” she cleared her throat and only after a solid minute did she finally blink. “I, um…” Whatever thought she had been holding onto had completely vanished as she slowly set the cat back down. Again she looked around, and like before she didn’t spot anything out of the ordinary. For half a second she considered taking the collar off the cat just to confirm that she wasn’t going out of her mind. “You’re not a parrot…” she stated the obvious. “How are you…” Elissia started but then changed her question to “What’s your name?”

The jaw dropping was a reaction that Liryn was familiar with too as it seemed to be the general reaction of non powered people on finding out that some cats were perfectly capable of speaking back to them in a language other than cat.
He waited patiently to see what the woman would do next, not moving from where she had gently placed him back on the ground, as he knew that at some point there was probably going to be questions - questions that he would do his best to answer.
They weren't long in coming,
Liryn tilted his head up thoughtfully as he considered whether he was supposed to be answering the statement about him not being a parrot, but then decided to do so anyway.
"No I'm not a parrot" he agreed cheerfully "I'm a mauvian and my name's Liryn."
And then because it seemed only fair "What's yours?"
