Some accounts say they’ve spotted a twenty foot long, snake like creature capable of rearing a long neck high above the water. It’s hard to tell if the videos are doctored, but there are too many rumors to dismiss easily. Something strange might be lurking deep in the water. Are you the type to investigate this or is it enough to dampen your waterfront plans? While you may not ever actually interact with the supposed cryptid, you can spot a strange creature in the distance. And, who knows what youma are crawling in the area, anyway?

Whilst Liryn had heard of the Destiny City Reservoir, it wasn't somewhere that he had much interest in visiting - at least not generally.
It wasn't about the sand, although he'd heard that apparently the sand had a strange and inexplicable tendency to squeak, but rather because there was a little tooo much water for him to feel comfortable around.
He also knew where it was, it was hard not to know, given that after last year's grand opening it seemed to have become popular as a beach alternative - Arian had even mentioned something about his cousin visiting during the opening.
But whilst the squeaky sand was something that he was curious about - especially given that it sounded like something that would be useless for sneaking over, there was still the water aspect - and the water aspect was a 'no thanks'–
Which was why it was probably ironic that Liryn's destination of choice for the evening was the Destiny City Reservoir.
The reservoir had been in the news lately over reports of some sort of aquatic monster, one report had mentioned a twenty foot long snake-like creature - and there had even been a few videos.
Nothing in the reporting had been conclusive however, which meant one for it - kitty investigation - even if said investigation meant going near far more water than Liryn would have liked–
Although at least there was also the fact that he now also had an excuse to go check out the squeaky sand first-hand.
A small part of him wondered if he should have mentioned the evening's excursion to Arian, wondered if maybe the reports of the snake-like creature meant there was some sort of youma on the prowl - but now that he had his mauvian powers back, Liryn wasn't particularly worried about youma - after all it wasn't the first time that he'd encountered the things–
And he could always call up Arian - well more make that Athene - using his communicator if it came to it.Kapoodles Hope this works as a start for you both, but let me know if I need to tweak anything

There was always something weird going on in or around Destiny City, by Nix's reckoning. Meant there was never a dull moment, of course, but wouldn't it be nice to just not have monsters?Nothing for it. The monsters needed a good punch'n'lick combo. Buzzi had sent him a message about wanting to investigate some rumors up by the reservoir, so naturally he agreed to come have a look. So it was that he found his way out there, after the crowds were gone. Maybe they'd find something...maybe not. He found himself there first, so perched himself in some precarious spot to watch and wait. He was pretty sure he saw a cat poking around some distance away, and decided that'd be the first thing to go check out once Buzzi arrived. Buzzi's arrival was maked by a grin, a wave, and Nix saying, "Evenin'! Ready to find off-brand Nessie?"

Buzzi wasn't exactly the type that loved to go swimmin. You got wet, it took forever for his hair to dry, and if you didn't have somewhere to change immediately, you stayed wet for a longass time! But he DID love mysteries. Weird squeaky sand, a lake monster somewhere that was made artificially? Creepy caves and all of it happening during a suspicious festival where people were expected to be nice to one another? That ticked ALL the boxes of needing to go on a fancy field trip! It could only have been made better by fancy company, like Nix! Sure, the need to infinitely smooze the Eternal had certainly waned, but they were still really good buddies! And you know what good buddies did? They went to fight and explore together! "Yeah! I'm one-hundred percent ready! But real quick... Is that a cat over there? Like.. A suspicious one? Should we take a peek at that first?"

It turned out that the reports about the reservoir's squeaky sand hadn't been exaggerations, which meant whilst Liryn's paws were themselves cat-quiet as he padded across the sand, the effect was rather ruined by the trail of squeaks that he found himself leaving in his wake.
It felt almost like the equivalent having a sign stating 'I'm here' hovering above above him and made trying to sneak around rather pointless - but Liryn wasn't ready to call it a night just yet.
He padded past the remains of what appeared to be sandcastles in various stages of being washed out by the sea, his purplish eyes glancing around in an attempt to see if there was anything out of the ordinary.
The light glinting off something half-buried in the sand caught his attention, had him pausing for a moment and then two, as Liryn used a paw to carefully dig the item out from the sand.
It was a charm, a cluster of stars - three violet and one silver.
Liryn scooped it up and had just finished vanishing it into his subspace pocket when he picked up on the auras.
The warmth suggested Order auras - Order senshi auras - and one was an eternal, given the way that he could feel it blaze.
Liryn paused, curious, his purplish eyes glancing around because the two auras felt really close as a part of him wondered if they were out looking for the reported aquatic monster too.

"I think so," Nix agreed, nodding. "Let's see who we're dealing with...I don't think it's Arthur." He gave a little "come on" gesture, and hopped off in the direction of that cat on the beach. With a total lack of stealth or subtlety, he waved and called out, "Hey, hey!" If it was just a cat, he figured, it'd run away. If not...hopefully there'd be no running away here.

"You know, I honestly thought that cats hated the water. Why would one be all the way up here?" Then again, cats also liked fish, right? So then it would make sense that a cat was up here! The reservoir was full of fish, so it could a smorgasbord if a cat was fast enough. ... He didn't dwell on it too long, and chose instead to hop along after Nix, eager to see what it was. Briefly, he thought to himself that the sand was really, super, freaking weird. Squeak squeak squeak with every dang step. "Hey! Cats don't always speak English you know! You gotta make that kissy sound too. Like.. 'tssk tssk tssk', here kitty kitty!" To emphasize, he knelt down as close to the cat as he could without feeling like he would startle it, and tried to make him come closer. "Dont'cha know, Mr. Kitten, that there are monsters in that lake? Best be staying away from it for now!"

Whilst Liryn had known that the two Order auras were close, they had still been closer than he'd initially thought - although the squeakiness of the sand had meant that it would have been hard to miss it as the two senshi got increasingly closer - not that he minded as it saved him a trip.
It was the eternal that reached him first, Liryn's purplish eyes taking in the white, blue, green and orange of the other's outfit before staring at the boots with the frog toe-shaped ends in interest.
He opened his mouth to return the greeting, but the eternal senshi's companion - a senshi garbed in white in browns, with a gossamar wing-like bow spoke up before he could say anything and Liryn couldn't help but be a little amused at the statement that cats didn't always speak English.
He padded closer, closing the last of the distance between himself and the pair, as a purr rumbled in his throat before pausing when he was in stroking distance.
"It's true that not all cats speak English" he agreed cheerfully, after a couple of moments more of purring. "But I do."
His purplish eyes looked from one to the other as he continued "Are you two trying to find the monster too?"
He thought about it for a moment before adding "And good evening to you both - I'm Liryn."
Liryn found his attention going back to the senshi in browns and white as he continued speaking however, although it wasn't something that he could fully help–
Because there was a readiness about the eternal's senshi companion and the readiness was distracting.

"Ah, see!" Nix said to Buzzi. "Never know if it's a cat or not..." He turned his attention back to Liryn and told him, "We're monster hunting, yup! Never know what you might find...like you, for instance, though I don't think you count as a monster." He put a hand just under his grinning frog brooch. "I'm Nix, and this," he gestured to his companion, "Is Buzzi! It's nice to meet ya!" He nodded. "Find anything cool out here?"

“Huh! Welp I guess that settles that! English it is! It’s nice to meet you. Though... if you’re looking for monsters, I think that might be a bit dangerous. You’re kinda small, you know? Perfect bait for a sea monster.” He didn’t want to be too threatening with it, but... Hey, it was true! If tiny dogs were considered ‘gator bait’ then tiny cats could be considered giant-reservoir monster bait! And that was way too horrifying to think about. “Did you need some sorta ride? You can hop up on my shoulder if you’d like. That should definitely be a better vantage point! I am totally taller than Nix here.”

"It's nice to meet both of you too" Liryn said cheerfully as he committed the two names to memory, because meeting new senshi was something that he had always enjoyed.
He was still somewhat distracted by the senshi that Nix had introduced as Buzzi and so had missed some of what the eternal had said - notably the comment that the other didn't suppose he counted as a monster - although Liryn had caught the question about whether he had found anything interesting.
"Not really" he admitted "Unless you count the star charm that I found just before the two of you came over and it's been pretty quiet on the aura front."
His attention shifted back to Buzzi, his purplish eyes amused "It wouldn't be the first time that I've run into monsters, but I wouldn't say no to a shoulder ride" because senshi feet would cover a lot more ground than cat paws–
And whilst it was true that Liryn's movement options weren't limited to just cat paws, the other form wasn't exactly subtle.
"But before that would you mind letting me have your henshin pen Buzzi?"

"Well, that's good, I guess, no monsters makes for a better beach" Nix replied with a nod, and raised himself up juust a little on his froggy toes. "And I'll have you know I'm plenty tall, thank you!" Still, he didn't object to letting Buzzi carry the cat. That said, the question of henshin pens caused his eyebrows to go up. Having experienced it a couple times in the past, he had to wonder if that meant today would be extra fun...and so he cast his gaze to Buzzi.

Just as he was about to pick up the cat and put him properly on his shoulder, Liryn asked something of him, leaving him a little confused. "Huh? My pen? What do you want that for?" It wasn't hard for him to pull it out of his pocket, and give it a little twirl of his fingers, before holding it out to him. "Do you know what he's goin' on about, Nix?"

Tabby paws reached up to take the offered henshin pen, before carefully placing it down on the sand - and whilst it was a little awkward because he was in cat form rather than the other form - needs must meant that Liryn managed nonetheless.
"I'll let you have it back in a moment" he promised as he looked up at Buzzi, although his cheerful voice was a little distracted, the majority of his attention on the henshin pen leaving up to Nix to perhaps explain should the eternal choose to "I just need to do something with it first."
And he had been nudging the pen just so as he spoke, but now Liryn placed a paw firmly on the henshin pen as the jade star on his forehead started glowing as he concentrated on the starseed that shone so brightly with potential.
And mayhaps Buzzi felt the warmth too, hopefully Buzzi felt the warmth too as his henshin pen started glowing too.
Tthe glow faint at first, but one that got brighter and brighter as it spread to cover the entire henshin pen - even as said henshin pen seemed to shift and change shape beneath the glow–
And it took a few moments, but when the glow faded away Buzzi would find his henshin pen still familiar but at the same time changed, Liryn gazing at it in satisfaction for a moment before nudging it back to Buzzi.
"That should do it" he said cheerfully "But you'll need to power up again and use 'Buzzi Asteroid Power, Make-Up!' this time around."Kapoodles Hope this was what you were looking for around the upgrade, but happy to tweak if needed

Nix's eyebrows stayed up as he replied, "I think I do," but didn't explain as the cat did his thing. It was always surprising how little effort it actually took them to do this sort of thing. Once the pen was done, he grinned at Buzzi and said, "Oh wow, I wonder how your outfit will change!" The cat was out of the bag, so to speak. "Mine never really changed all that much, just got," he put a hand on the patterns on his sides, "more complicated looking...and feels stronger somehow, too. And more froggy."
