 Kelpie was not going home yet and maybe she wouldn't go home, she was a free spirit who had sorta had a parent to tell her what to do, she had a pae who had taken care of her when she was little, but she was more likely to wander off and seek out an adventure and trouble then settle down and do something calm and chill. She had gone off to the Venus Hotel and she had danced and had a lot of fun, then she was dropped in a maze and that was pretty amazing too. She was excited about life no matter what happened. She did have life requirements though and that meant she needed to get in the water, she happened to find herself at the Aul Springs. She jumped in and started swimming around feeling her tail and her happiness at being in the water again. As a naiad it was her element and something she needed on a biological level. She loved living her life going between the elements but water was the best.

Haust was out and about, swimming around, mulling what he was going to do with his life. He'd kinda just been doing as the current took him, but his grandfather's recent marriage had kind of brought him back to reality. He was going to have to settle down at some point, figure out how he fit into this community. It was something he'd been putting of for so long... He didn't want to have to make a decision. His parents hadnt explicitly pressured him, but seeing them and his sister going about their lives was pressure enough. Compared to them, he felt it hard to meet their unspoken standards. But what was he even good at? He felt terribly mediocre at everything he tried. At some point, it had made him want to stop even trying. It was this mindset that he swam around in that day, wandering about aimlessly.

Kelpie didn't have a place in mind since she didn't live in this area, she was enjoying swimming and seeing the coral and fish around her that she had never seen before. She loved water as was proper for a naiad. She didn't know her real parents and that was alright, she had been taken care of so she was lucky. Some orphaned pae weren't so lucky as to find someone who cared about them. She was looking around for anyone she could play with or talk to at this point as she flipped and dove through the water.

Glancing around, a verifiable question mark nearly appeared atop Haust's head as he realized he'd floated into a part of town he wasn't all that familiar with. It wasn't his first time here, but an innate sense of direction didn't particularly run in the family. Sure, he could continue on and hope that some sort of obvious landmark would appear, but that had about a 50% chance of working at best.
50% would have been good enough if he hadn't had been fortunate enough to notice someone else swimming in the distance.
"Excuse me!" He called out as she started off in her direction - maybe she could help! As he neared, he repeated his prior statement with an added "Hello there!" for good effect.

Kelpie flipped around and looked at the figure calling for attention. "Yea what's up?" She asked and then looked around to make sure she wasn't being a fool thinking she was the one they wanted the attention of. After all she didn't think she knew anyone here, but she could be wrong. She tilted her head to the side thinking on the pae she knew and there weren't many. She met and few pae at the party where they all were dumped into a maze. She couldn't really remember who she had met then though it had been a while ago.

"Not much. Hey do you--" Haust's voice trailed up as he noticed the curious halo flipping about and following the green naiad's head as she moved about. Strange. How did she get it to do that? Having never ventured to the surface, he'd never seen anything like it before.
And there it went - his attention span right out the metaphorical window.
"Woah..."

Kelpie tilted her head to the side still confused as to what was going on. "How do I what?" She asked curiously and then swam around the pae looking them over and considering pepper bombing them. She thought it would be fun but she also wanted to know what they had wanted to begin with. Pepper bombing others tended to cause them to want to leave in a hurry.

"Woahhh... What's that thing on your head?" Haust's filter was nonexistent as he voiced his internal monologue out loud and his eyes continued to trail the halo. It was so weird...
He'd def never seen anything like this. Was he still in Alu Spring? Had he wandered off somewhere completely different?

Kelpie played with her halo "Not really sure I've had it since I was little, it's just always been there, doesn't seem to do anything." She smiled and then said, "I'm Kelpie who are you?"

His eyes followed her hands as she moved to mess with her 'floating' ornamentation. "Huh, really? That's so weird... but also so cool! It's really pretty." It seemed he hadn't been paying much attention about daemon signs to watch out for as a naiad while in schooling.
Haust returned her smile and introduction with one of his own, "Nice to meet you Kelpie - I'm Haust!" ( OOC: pronounced HYOOST) "What're you doing around here? ... Wherever here is anyways. "

Kelpie laughed and smiled "I suppose so." She played a bit with her halo and then said "Nice to meet you too Haust." She paused thinking about why she was here. "Well you see I went to this hotel for a vacation and then things went amusingly sideways." She laughed. "Anyways on my way back I needed to get some water in my system." She flipped her tail about "Naiad, after all, can't live without a water break. What about you?"

His smile grew larger as she returned his introductions with one of his own - he was kind of a simple guy with a bit of a self-esteem issue, so small gestures of kindness went a long way with him.
"Ooooh, is it like that Venus thing? My gramps (Hjortur) and gramgram (Kelebek) go every year to that. I believe my sister and I were conceived at one...? Maybe? Was that a weird thing to say? I'm going to stop now." And stop he did for a few moments. "I've never been up to the surface - my dad says we don't do so well up there. Unlike the other naiad, we don't grow legs for whatever reason, so it's inconvenient. I enjoy hearing about it though." His gramps and cousins had some wild stories about up there.
"Was it fun?"

Kelpie smiled "That's it!! I couldn't remember what it was called." She laughed "It's no big deal, everyone came from somewhere I just don't know who my family is, I got lucky and was taken care of by someone nice when I was little and then I went off on my own." Kelpie pouted "That is terrible, it's really interesting up there have you heard about trees? and snow?" She asked in a curious tone.

He was glad that his guess had been on-point. "That sounds like my parents! They were raised by my gramps and gramgram, but they're not actually related. Actually, they helped my gramps and gramgram find each other in the first place." It was kind of romantic in his opinion, though he could admit it might sounds strange from the outside looking in.
He offered a small, slightly defeated shrug. "Maybe, but I can't help I was born this way." Plus, the Spring was all he'd ever known - why start dreaming of a surface he could never exist in? "Trees, yes. They're like really large anemone, right? Never heard of snow though..."

Kelpie smiled "That is wonderful, it is great when others open their hearts to those in need." She frowned it was sad he couldn't see what she could see. She wished there was a way to allow him to see things. "You can't float on land? I saw some pae floating in the air with fish tails last time I was at a Venus event. If you can't I can tell you tales of things I've seen."
