 Henry had just recently moved to Zamarad village he had found a location to open his gift shop and he was working on gathering things to open up his shop. He was sleeping the back of his shop since he didn't have enough funds to get his shop location and get a home as well. This was what he wanted though the chance to follow his dreams and do something great. He had found some things already and he hoped to soon be able to open his shop and start selling the treasures he had collected. He stepped out in front of his little place looking at the pae walking down the street. He was so new in the village he hadn't had a chance to meet anyone, he had hoped that to make some friends on his recent vacation, but that had been a big flop thanks to Eris dropping everyone into a maze and he had no luck making friends during that terrible event. He could only hope he would have better luck in his new home.

Zamarad's development was progressing quite nicely, albite at a significantly quicker pace than it's heads could have ever predicted. Perhaps it was due to that girl from nearby Kurt's Village with that stoneworking ability, or perhaps it was her own children's ability that was likewise quite helpful with building development. Perhaps the island had truly just become that starved for the commercial center Agauni once provided.
Shahrazad didn't know. Quite frankly, she also didn't care.
All she knew was that this rapid expansion and development was leaving both her and her little Lazzy-boo with hardly a spare moment to themselves. And what little time they did have was mostly busied with the little tot they'd found in the ruins. Why, it had been far, far too long since they'd been able to just set aside this massive pain in the a** and just enjoy some quiet time. She was in massive need of a recharge. Much longer and she wouldn't be able to contain herself - she'd just eat her right up at the next available opportunity. No amount of liquor could continue to hold her off.
With a sigh, the rak flipped through some documents as she approached a rather small building situated within walking distance to the commercial port. According to the papers, it was due to become a shop for souvenirs, trinkets, novelties, and the like. Henry - the current owner - had an astoundingly unnotably simple (i.e. boring) background, and it appeared they'd given him fairly generous terms for the purchase due to the perceived effect introducing this sort of establishment would hopefully have on the budding neighborhood. Something about the tourist appeal - well, made sense if they could get some transit boats or the occasional naiad coming in. Leave it to Vanessa to think this through so far ahead. Still, it was curious. From their records, he'd only purchased this one property, but the building floorplan and modification plans didn't have any obvious references towards creating a living space. It had apparently been an oversight they were just catching - a loophole in their paperwork having not at the time required the applicant to include an address for their place of residence. Shah was here to have Henry complete an addendum to his form to add this information on file.
Still... Guardians this was a massive pain in her side. With another sigh, the rak lifted her right arm and gave a solid three knocks to the door.

Henry turned and went to answer the door, he didn't think he was exspecting anyone since he hadn't even opened his shop as of yet. Opened the door and said "Can I help you? My shop isn't open yet, I'm afriad you'll have to come back later if that is what you want."

White her face remained deadpan, Shah's tail flicked behind her twice in a jerky manner, betraying the irritation she felt at not only this daemon evidently not recognizing how much of a pain it was for the actual branch head to have had to come down here herself, but that she was also being turned away. Had nobody notified him to be ready for her visit? She was a busy woman these days. This was the correct address, right?
Ugh... what a pain.
Not bothering to put on a friendly façade, her expression remained deadpan as she glanced down at her paper and began with a cold tone. "Given you said 'my shop,' am I correct to presume that you are the Mr. Henry who recently acquired the deed to this building?"

Henry looked at the pae that looked very unhappy to see him, which he thought was strange since they had never met. "Please just call me Henry, no Mr. and yes I just acquired the deed for this shop and hope to open my gift shop soon and you are?" He wondered why they were. Perhaps an inspector of some sort? Or someone here to take rent for the building? He waited to find out what was going on.

"Ok, Henry it is. I am here regarding some information that was not collected at the time we issued you this permit."
Shah decidedly did not introduce herself as she continued with formalities. She took off the topmost piece of paper and handed it over to him, pointing to the top relevant spot where what she was saying was relayed back in Common Script, as she continued
"Notably, we failed to get information regarding your place of residence. As most who move here choose to live on the upper floors or elsewhere in their establishments, we had not thought to check this in the initial permitting process. However..."
She flipped a couple of pages of the papers with her until she came across the floorplan of Henry's shop.
"I could not find anything resembling living quarters in this shop's design. It seems my daughters hadn't constructed this particular building with that in mind - it must have been one of their first ones. Even so, it doesn't appear that the design has been altered to make it livable. It was a simple mistake on Vanessa's part, but that is why I double check everything before signing off. As I am sure you are aware, vagrancy is not allowed here in Zamarad and, as such, I would ask you to complete the form in your hands with your local home address."
Man, playing the part of a city official was a massive pain in the a**. Could she just go already? This was just so taxing on her spirits.

Henry listened and he blushed "Umm well is it alright if I sleep here if I want to? Or do I need to find a place to mark as my residence?" He didn't have much, he had put everything he had into this venture and he needed to open his shop to start making money, so he could start his life. "Do you know of any boarding houses if sleeping in a shop isn't allowed?"

"I am afraid sleeping in a location without the utilities required to make it 'livable' is no different than squatting - so no, you cannot just sleep here as the building stands. I will pretend to have not understood the implications by that question, given you were only given such a misunderstanding due to an error on our behalf."
What a pain. What a massive pain.
"You have two options, assuming you wish to continue with your shop. One - you can modify the floorplan of this building to modify it to add a living space. Or two - you can choose to live elsewhere and commute from there to here for your work. There are apartments variable in size and cost nearby. If you wish to explore that option, I can give you about a week or so to procure a living space. If you wish to alter the building, we can put you up instead in he meantime as we allowed for the situation to happen in the first place."

Henry sighed he had a lot to think about and it wasn't her problem to solve his problems. "Thank you, I'll figure it out somehow then." Perhaps he could get a loan and remodel the shop so he could live here, or perhaps he could find someone who would take pity on him and let him live with them till he got his shop going and started making money and could get a place of his own. This was his dream and he was so close he couldn't give up now. "Was there anything else I needed to know or you needed from me?"

Shahrazad nodded curtly before glancing down at her papers and then back again. "I do hope you can make a decision in the next week - I shall send someone to follow up with you at that time. Please keep that in mind and be ready to answer them when they come."
She flipped through the stack of papers before finding a generic one towards the back that could be filled out as a sort of receipt of her visit. "One moment please..." The rak took out an ink pen and quickly filled it out - it effectively stated that she, Shahrazad, had visited him, Henry, at approximately XX:XX on XX day of XX month and would have someone follow up at XX:XX (same time) on XX day of XX month (1 week later). She blew on the paper lightly to try and more quickly dry the ink before passing over the paper.
"No, that is all for today. Do make sure you are ready by the time specified." She offered a polite smile as her tail flicked behind her - she was so close to being able to go back to the office and one step closer to her super lovey-dovey cuddle break. "Now then, I wish you luck in resolving this matter and in the success of your gift shop, Henry. Good day to you," her tone remained polite as she closed her papers and went on her way in the direction of the Market Plaza.
