Quote: Destiny City is hosting an annual scavenger hunt during the Star Festival to encourage people to get out and explore their city. The prize for turning in a completed scavenger hunt is a coupon booklet and a few free tickets to upcoming city events. Even if you aren’t interested in the prize, the scavenger hunt is specifically designed to take you through the city to showcase a few historic buildings, some art installations, and some of the city’s greatest accomplishments. While many of the places are familiar, during your explorations you come across a building you’ve never seen before--something that feels out of time. You’ve been in the area countless times before, so how did you miss this place? When you lay eyes on the building, you feel a strange timelessness and have the distinct sensation of being a part of something bigger. Briefly, you may see flashes of some distant past--a flickering memory that you can’t quite place or fully form. It’s hard to make out, but at some point in time you have the distinct impression of a faded figure taking your hand and telling you to do something. They sound hopeful and encouraging, like they really believe in you. By the time you blink, the visions are gone, the building is gone. The only thing that remains is a beautiful little garden and a plaque so faded that you can’t make out the inscription. A scavenger hunt probably shouldn't have been cause for Paracelsian to power up, but sometimes these things had unexpected consequences, and he wanted to be prepared. After all, he'd found that strange crystal while just wandering around, so there were probably more secrets to be found. Nothing could ever be perfectly normal in Destiny City. There probably was no such thing as normal in Destiny City. He wasn't quite sure how long he'd been looking for things, but apparently he'd been going at it for so long that he'd lost track of time. And possibly of space, because now he was in an area that he didn't entirely recognize even from his patrols. That was doubly odd because he thought he'd doubled back over this place while looking for some sort of doodad on the list. All the same, this was a very weird building he was looking at. There was also a Lieutenant approaching, which was good, because he wanted an extra set of eyes on this instance.

For all that it had been several years since his corruption, Galaxite still often felt like he didn't know the city very well. There were parts he knew well--the area around the home he shared with Caledonite; the environs of Destiny City Memorial; a few parks and other places he, Cale, and now Marialite frequented. But much of it was still unknown, and a scavenger hunt was an excellent way for him to get to wander around and get a good look at places. Plus, if he ever got too lost or turned around, he could call Cale or Maria and they'd be there in an instant!
Besides, he'd been wandering towards another Negaverse aura for a while, and if anyone was safe, surely a fellow officer was, and this part of the city was getting more and more familiar.
Which was why he was so puzzled to see the building in front of him.
He sidled up to the Captain, and tilted his head to the side.
"Not to be rude, sir, but are you seeing what I'm seeing?" He gestured in front of them, looking down at his scavenger hunt page.

Paracelsian greeted the Lieutenant with a nod. If he was on social media, he would have hit the like button on the comment. "Ah, Lieutenant. Good timing. I was about to ask you the same thing. This building... makes no sense. Right?" He gestured at the weird building, shooting it a critical eye. "It matches nothing around it. Furthermore, I don't think it's supposed to be here. I know what's typically in his area. This isn't it." He looked back to Galaxite, scanning him for agreement, which he expected, since he seemed as befuddled by the building's appearance as he was. While Destiny City had its fair share of neutrally-valenced bizarre happenings, Paracelsian found himself wondering if there was a senshi that conjured fake buildings somewhere. "What do you think? Could it be an Order trap?"

Galaxite rocked back on his heels, thoughtfully examining the building in front of them and the ones around it. He cocked his head to the side, and nodded a little.
"You're right. It's all wrong; nothing about this place makes sense." He huffed. "...I wish I could remember more about being a Page; maybe I'd have a better idea of if this is something Order could do." He shook his head, crossing his arms and frowning unhappily.
Than, it hit him, and he started.
"Oh, sorry! Uh, I'm Lt. Galaxite. I work under Captain Caledonite. You?" He turned and extended a hand.

"A Page?" Paracelsian was now faced with one of the corrupted. A bit troubling, but there was nothing to be done about it now. He let the notion drop with a nod and a "Hmm" of understanding. "Captain Paracelsian. Pleased to meet you. I hope your time in the Negaverse has treated you... well enough." Yeah, well enough. That was one way to put it. He reached forward to complete the handshake, but then something happened. For a split second, it seemed like someone other than Galaxite accepted his handshake. The mystery figure on the other side said something that didn't feel complete, and yet somehow he got a distinct impression of the meaning. There was a call to action, a call to "do." Do what? Something. Just as suddenly as it appeared, it was gone. So stunned was Paracelsian by this happening that he was speechless for a few solid seconds. He opened his mouth, looked in the direction of the building... which was gone now, by the way, and then back at Galaxite. "What- I just- but look over there- oh my god. What the hell was that." He looked in the direction of the vanished building once more to see nothing more than a garden and a plaque. His only further responses were confused gesticulations.

Galaxite shrugged his shoulders idly. "Only briefly, I think--at least, that's what Cale has told me? I don't remember much, just that we met, and he brought me to Laurelite, and most everything else is sort of...a blur." He seemed entirely blase about the whole situation--which, in truth, he was. Galaxite wasn't fussed about his lost memory, or his lost life, because it was all gone, now, lost to the memory wipe Chaos had done when he was corrupted.
"A pleasure, captain..." Galaxite began, but as Paracelsian's hand met his, for a moment, he swore there was another figure there. Someone wrapping both their hands around his, and leaning forward, and telling him--to--something? To do something? He thought? It was indistinct and strange, but it didn't feel urgent or frightening, just...supportive. Warm.
"What," he said, softly, and as the vision faded, he turned to look where Paracelsian was pointing, and...the building. the odd one. It was gone too, replaced by nothing but a garden and a marker.
"That...no. There was definitely..." He turned to the Captain, looking a little pleading, because he desperately needed someone else to confirm what he'd seen. "There was a building there, wasn't there?" Without waiting for a response, he moved over to the plaque, wiping it off--but even that didn't help.
"This is too faded to read," he reported, and huffed. "What was that? Did you see...a person? Or was that just..."

It seemed that the lieutenant was just as confused as he was. Paracelsian squinted as Galaxite went over to investigate the plaque. "Yes, there was definitely a building. Was. Past tense." He heaved a heavy sigh (because why was the city like this, sometimes?) and followed him over to the plaque. "I saw the person, too. I don't know where they vanished to, or what they were a specter of, but they were... encouraging. Friendly, at least." Being encouraged by a phantom definitely sat oddly in his mind. Paracelsian peered at the plaque, scrutinizing it intensely for a brief moment before deciding that there was nothing to be found on it. "This is intriguing but not terribly useful as it is," he grumbled. "I wonder if there's anyone in the Negaverse skilled in restoration, but there's probably nothing left to restore on here."

"Hm." Galaxite frowned, and then let out a tiny, unhappy huff. "Perhaps we should report back, see if anyone else witnessed anything similar? Considering that the phenomena seems to have dissipated for now, it's going to be hard for us to examine it closely and draw any conclusions."
He shrugged his shoulders. "It doesn't seem to be dangerous, though, just....strange. So...put out some feelers to other officers, see if anyone else noticed anything and if there are any patterns to be found? for now, though," Galaxite held up his scavenger hunt sheet, sheepishly. "I think there's a time limit on this? And weird magic or not, I'd like to finish, relearning the city is. Helpful, after losing my memories in corruption."

Paracelsian nodded. "I agree. It would be helpful to check the database too, in case there's precedent for this sort of event. I can take you to Negaspace, if you'd like." When Galaxite held up the scavenger hunt sheet, however, he couldn't help but chuckle. "You're taking a scavenger hunt awfully seriously, aren't you? Though I suppose you have a stake in it. I'd be happy to help take you around the city. Perhaps we'll find more of note along the way." The scavenger hunt would be a pleasant diversion from the city's oddities. He took a few steps forward and looked to see if Galaxite would follow. "What's the next item on your list?"
