Prompt - The Meteor Shard
Strange things appear in Destiny City all the time, so nothing seems out of the ordinary about what might look like discarded trash, broken glass, or pieces of broken jewelry. If anyone were to lean in for a closer inspection, they might find a beautiful, gemstone like object that is shaped a bit like a star. They come in an array of colors and almost seem to have some sort of light sparkling in them.
Note: Each character can only find one of these! While you may choose to keep the strange star fragment, once you acquire one you can interact with a special event NPC and exchange it for another item. Information can be found here!

Work, work, work! The song of everyone's life and certainly one for Regula. If he were to muse over it for too long it would be safe to say that he was, for want of a better word, otherwise inclined not to take a break. Oh he used to put his feet up after work but now that he had a new 'hobby' to attend to, he hadn't quite found a new work-life balance. At this point in his life he wasn't entirely convinced he would have the ability to find that balance yet, but for now his energy levels were fine and his normal day to day remained unaffected.
...This did not, however, make night shifts any easier on him.
Nightshifts tended to throw him off a little bit and this evening was no exception, several rapid blinks as he wandered through the main street had also seen him do something he very much preferred not to do. He was feeding himself caffeine and a fair amount of it at that. Given it wasn't his normal form of sustenance it hit him like a bus and he was positively buzzing at the moment but the wired state wasn't doing him as many favours as he would have liked. Right now he had the jitters and he wouldn't have been at all surprised if someone had pointed to his eyebrow and said it was twitching but at least he was still awake.
Focus was a different matter entirely though and as he now walked through the park, quiet as it was, he gave himself a very blunt talking to. His internal voice chastising him on several occasions for glancing here and there like a gidy schoolgirl. He needed to calm down and with that would come a sense of clarity and the heightened awareness he needed to be able to do his job effectively. Sure, events in the park had proven predictable and uneventful but this didn't mean that it would stay that way and he needed to be prepared, spooking at every possible squeak or shadow wasn't going to help with that.
He chose to pause under one of the dimly lit lamps, taking a few measured breaths. It afforded him a chance to look round and it was during those moments that he did have to appreciate the hardwork the gardeners had put in to these festivities. The park had already been a nice area, but there was something quite endearing about the wonderland they had pursued for the festivities. While he wasn't in the most well lit part of it as it was more important to keep an eye on the more exposed areas, he really could appreciate the twinkling lights from a distance.
However as he turned his gaze away from the main straight something did catch his eye and he furrowed his brow as he took the opportunity to provide it with a doubletake. There, just underneath the hedge he could see something sparkling. Curiosity piqued he moved towards it and knelt down, reaching out to grasp what he would have assumed to be someone's lost jewellery. What he found though was something quite different, do be entirely honest he wasn't sure what it was as he turned it over in his palm.
Some sort of star?
It was an odd thing to find out here to say the least, whatever it was supposed to be, it hadn't come from anything in this immediate vicinity. Perhaps it came from the main straight? It would make sense given the theme they had chosen. It went into the small pocket on his belt, a place where he kept anything he might have found while on patrol. It wasn't often that he found treasure but every now and then a watch, purse or other item of value would turn up and that did need to be turned in so that it could find its owner!
When he was passing through the main straight he'd offer it up to them and see if, perhaps, anyone might be missing a decoration. For now though he did seem to have found a suitable measure of focus and now that he wasn't a jittering mess it seemed fitting for him to carry on with his patrol. Ah, but perhaps the jewelled star's momentary distraction had been exactly what his high-strung brain had needed at the time eh? Now that it was sated he could go about his evening unhindered!
Well, until the caffeine ran out he would be able to.
After that, it was anyone's guess as to what he might need to snap him back in to focus.
He was going to have to find an alternative to the caffeine thing though, jellybabies maybe? Eh, but that would cause a sugar crash and he didn't need one of those either. Yet another thing for him to ponder as he went about his work. At least he was never bored these days...
