Strange things appear in Destiny City all the time, so nothing seems out of the ordinary about what might look like discarded trash, broken glass, or pieces of broken jewelry. If anyone were to lean in for a closer inspection, they might find a beautiful, gemstone like object that is shaped a bit like a star. They come in an array of colors and almost seem to have some sort of light sparkling in them.
The night before had been a very magical evening. A night under the sky full of falling stars. The meteor shower had been quite lovely, full of unique colors as well. At the time she hadn't really thought that much about the odd arrangement in the sky. She was more concerned by the lovely lady by her side. The blanket underneath them, hand in hand. If there hadn't been a myriad of strangers around them also enjoying the sight, well things would have been better. But she couldn't really complain.
The next day she had woken up with the star festival still in full swing. She wanted to find a gift for Daphne to thank her for such a wonderful evening. Lori wasn't one to brag, but she was starting to get the hand of this who relationship thing. She wouldn't have considered buying a gift for anyone aside from her brother a year ago. And even he didn't tend to get the best gifts form her. She often considered her not getting black out drunk as a gift to her twin. Though, it really took a lot to get her that wasted these days. She wasn't sure if that was a good sign or not. Probably bad. If her shenanigans as a Senshi didn't get her killed, her liver probably would.
Today was not about her twin though. He had his own lover to deal with now. The two of them really did spend as much time together outside of the house these days. Today was about finding something perfect for Daphne. And so she hit up the many stalls and vendors set up for the festival. These was a booth filled with flashy rings, but a ring seemed like too big of a step right now. While she had mastered being a good girlfriend (in her mind) she didn't want to take things further than that and it might send the wrong message. Though, they were awfully pretty and she spent a good time looking them all over.
The next booth had some cute stuffed animals. But maybe that was too immature. It might be better to wait for a chance to win Daphne something at a carnival or such. Maybe a claw machine at a bar or arcade. Yeah, that was definitely more an arcade prize than something given as a gift. A booth with clothes, nick knacks, key chains...
She kept wandering, occasionally distracted by something cute but ultimately saying 'No' and moving on. Finally she found a promising booth with nice accessories. A bracelet or necklace would be nice. Something she could wear every day, that was't a ring on her finger. They were very well made and the materials were a good quality. Nothing that would fade with time and wear. After all, she wanted it to be worn every day.
She picked up a very cute charm bracelet. Made of a variety of colorful, bright stars. As it caught the light it shimmered pleasantly. Absolutely adorable. This would certainly do.
"I'll take this one, thanks." She smiled and paid the vendor. As she turned to leave the both she noticed something else though. Between the stalls something seemed to shine and sparkle. She picked it up at first thinking something had fallen from the vendors table. But upon closer inspection it seemed...mysterious in nature. It almost reminded her of a star seed. Except it was too small, though it did have a certain glow to it.
Something told her she should keep it, it certainly didn't belong to the booth she had just left. No one seemed to be looking for it either. She tucked it away in her purse for now. Maybe she'd have Obie take a closer look at it some other time.
