Dovian 1 / 10
He was less than pleased to be away from the forge but he knew it was for a good reason. His mentor had sent him to Matori to pick up a package. Apparently the vendor was short handed and wouldn’t be able to deliver on time so arrangements had been made for Dovian to go and pick it up. The heat didn’t bother him at all, he was used to being by an open flame all the time. What bothered him was the fact that his hands had nothing to do. He felt idle even though he was walking. A deep breath in and he looked around. The road there was as he remembered it before. His family had vacationed in Matori before and if he remembered right his uncles Mano and Kyrian were around somewhere. Not that he thought about visiting. It would distract him too much and could make him late. Plus his uncle Mano was a terrible flirt and Shura wasn’t around to protect him from the worst of it.

Llyr 1 / 10
A bucket sat beside him as he busied himself with crafting a sand castle. He’d been lugging water up from the shore to his little castle so that he could make it stay better. Llyr had gotten pretty good at it so far and some details were starting to show now that he’d taken his time. It was no longer simple mounds with sticks in them. He had full towers and windows. The sticks were still there though. He’d also collected a few shells to add to the outside decor of his little castle. Dipping his hand into the bucket he scooped out a handful of water and added it to some sand so that he could continue building. Llyr had a vision in mind for his sand castle and he wasn’t going to leave until it was done!

As he continued on his way he came across a little kid and a bucket. They weren’t in his way so he didn’t seem to mind so much. What was impressive was the detail on the castle that he could see from so far away. It didn’t look like blobs smooshed together like what he’d made as a kid. He was thoroughly impressed with it. His brows rose a little and even a smile showed on his otherwise stoic face. If he didn’t think it weird to talk to the kid he didn’t even know he might had said something, but as it was he left it alone and simply continued to walk. So long as the kid said nothing to him then he had no reason to stop anyways. He had a task to do and the sooner he did it the sooner he could get back to the forge.

He was too busy with his project that he didn’t notice the person walking along. His tongue had come out, trapped between his teeth as he focused solely on making the next tower for his castle. When he went to reach back for one of the many shells he’d collected he accidentally knocked one down and it rolled away from him. Since he was on a small hill it went down the little incline and toward the person walking by. Llyr looked up from his castle and to the shell, noticing the feet that belonged to a person, then up at Dovian. He blinked a few times, startled to see someone else there.

He had all intentions to keep walking but it seemed a little shell had other plans for him. It rolled right on down and bumped into his feet. A sort of ‘hello’. Dovian stopped and looked down at it then over at the kid about the same time he looked over. The two locked eyed for an awkward moment before the apprentice blacksmith looked back down at the shell and debated for a second. Finally he opened his mouth and said something. ”You want that back?” Maybe the boy had decided it didn’t fit the over all aesthetic of the castle?

When asked if he wanted the shell back he silently nodded his head but stared at the man. As a kid he didn’t really talk to people he didn’t know. Even less if they weren’t family. His green eyes stayed on the guy and squinted a little. The boy was trying to figure out what he was. Everything screamed Oban but the eyes were the wrong color and it looked like there were pink crystals on him. It was weird. Those were Leaf traits. Llyr would know, he had them. So his head tilted to the side slightly as he stared. There were clearly questions written on his face.

He saw the boy nod, and while he thought it rude the boy didn’t verbally respond he understood. So Dovian bent down and picked up the shell that had assaulted his foot. Once it was in hand she straightened and looked it over, flipping it so that he could see the colors and designs. After a full look he brought his own green gaze up to meet the little boy’s as he held his hand out for the child to take the shell back. ”Here you go.” It likely would have been easier to toss it up or even take the few steps up to where he was but he didn’t feel like it. Mainly because tossing it could potentially hit the castle and ruin it and walking up might scare the kid.

His eyes watched the man even more. While Dovian looked over the shell he looked over Dovian. Curiosity being the main thing he felt. The guy was darker skinned than he was but the eyes were clearly the same. And the small pink crystals were there. Of course the man had orange ones too. So was he like his dad? A leaf and fire hybrid? He ignored the outstretched hand for a minute as he thought about this, continuing to stare at the man through narrowed eyes.

He wasn’t blind. He could clearly see that the kid was staring at him. He remained as he was for a minute or two but when it became uncomfortable he cleared his throat and moved his hand so that the shell was brought up into Llyr’s line of sight. ”Here kid. It’s rude to stare at people, especially if they are being nice to you.” Dovian frowned at the boy. Had his parents not taught him common manners? Or was he an orphan that didn’t have a proper upbringing? It didn’t really matter to him.

Snapping out of his little trance he moved and got up so that he could retrieve the shell. His eyes lowered to the object but once he reached out to take it he looked back up at the man. ”Sorry, you look funny.” No that wasn’t the right word for it. As he took the shell he shook his head. ”No.. different.” Yes. Llyr nodded his head at that word and tilted his head back so that he could look up at Dovian and his dreads.

‘Funny.’ That made his frown deepen. This is why he stayed at the forge! It didn’t talk back like this! The fire wasn’t rude! It didn’t stare or judge. He sighed. Then the kid amended his statement. ‘Different.’ Well yeah, he was a hybrid. A mix of leaf and fire. Still, this was a kid he was talking to. ”Yeah. I’m what you call a hybrid. My dad’s fire and my mom’s leaf.” He shrugged a little after that. It was normal for him but then again he’d grown up with his family being what it was. Heck his uncle Mano was a Matorian. His hand lowered back to his side once the kid had the shell.

”I know that. I am too.” Not that one could really tell by looking at him. Llyr had four different races in him. All of which he was proud of. Though he sometimes got a little bummed out that he didn’t have the blue skin his mother had. He thought it was pretty. ”My parents are mixed.” He clarified. ”My dad is like you. Only..” He paused to stare a bit more at Dovian. ”You are darker.” Did that mean his dad was darker than Llyr's grandpa?

It took a minute for him to register the words. So the kid was a hybrid. Or claimed to be. Dovian looked him over. In truth he looked like an ordinary leaf tribe member to him. When it was said that the boy’s dad was like Dovian only lighter he had to look down at his arms. ”Uh.. Okay. I guess I take after my dad in that aspect. My mom is pretty pale though. So is my sister and little brother.” Not that the color of one’s skin had any baring on anything. ”Your mom leaf too?” He could only imagine that was so if the boy show such dominant features from that race.

So his mom was pale. Llyr tried to picture it. Of course seeing the darker skinned Dovian before him he just couldn’t see a pale skinned woman as his mother. He boy knew it could happen though, since his own mother was blue. ”She’s part leaf.” He gave a small bob of his head as he confirmed the suspicions. ”Part alkidike and part ice too.” He stated the facts easily. "She has pretty blue skin."

Dovian 8 / 10
He considered this for a second. The boy had quite a mix to him. It was off for none of the other traits to show through however. Dovian eventually gave a shrug of his shoulders. ”Guess you take after your dad just like I do.” It wasn’t uncommon for a child to take after one parent more than the other one. In the case of his little sister it was painfully obvious she was going to be just like their dad. Both looks and personality. The little thief. ”Not a bad thing though.” He figured he’d make it so that the kid didn’t feel bad about it.
