Quote: The Destiny City Reservoir opened about a year ago and is an easy escape from the big city. It’s a five minute drive outside of the Eastern side of town and features clear water and sandy beaches--although, the sand here is notorious for squeaking when you step on it. It’s a hot spot for all fun summer activities, but it’s been back in the news recently for mysterious reports of some strange, aquatic monster. Some accounts say they’ve spotted a twenty foot long, snake like creature capable of rearing a long neck high above the water. It’s hard to tell if the videos are doctored, but there are too many rumors to dismiss easily. Something strange might be lurking deep in the water. Are you the type to investigate this or is it enough to dampen your waterfront plans? While you may not ever actually interact with the supposed cryptid, you can spot a strange creature in the distance. And, who knows what youma are crawling in the area, anyway? Emmy really couldn't have asked for a better job. The Negaverse duties attached could get serious at times, but then there were other days that she got tasks like this. There had been a few tweets showing up with grainy videos attached showing some kind of creature in the reservoir, and Emmy had been sent to investigate. It was important to figure out what was going on. Was this some loose youma that needed attention drawn away from it, or something else that the recruits could write fun, clickbait-y articles about? Emmy was fully prepared to find out. She was also prepared to enjoy herself in the meantime. She had on a sharp red bikini under shorts and a sheer, kimono-style cover up, and she spent a few long minutes sitting in the warm sand and putting on some sunscreen. If she had to go walking around the reservoir, she would, but the beach area had a full view of the water. Anyway, the sun was so nice after a long string of days sitting in front of a computer.

It has been relatively peaceful after that cat incident. There had not been serious fights when she collected energy. Or any problems really. It was nice. Even though she knew how to fight, Jade didn't really enjoyed picking fights. They had a tendency to get messy at times. Jade didn't like messy. It would ruin her looks. Speaking of looks Jade had chosen a special outfit for this mission. She was asked to ensure safety of other agent who have been sent to investigate rumors of a strange monster in the reservoir. Since the said mission was set up in a beach, Jade wore a black one-piece swimsuit, and a purple sheer sarong tied over it. In her tote bag, there were refreshments, carefully picked the ones that would not be ruined by heat. The beach was surprisingly empty today so finding the person who fit descriptions she had got was rather easy task. Soon after, Jade was there, partially casting a shadow over her, looking at the other girl under her summer hat and behind her sunglasses. "Emilia Asher?" stari_maga I'm sorry this took so long. Let me know if I need to change anything.

At first, Emmy wasn't sure why the strange woman was approaching her. She tried to ignore it, taking at her phone and flipping through some old texts, the way anyone wanting to be left alone would do. A shadow fell over her anyway. She looked up. It was the woman's hat, blocking out the sun. She was just about to move up to the next stage of please go away, which would include sighing pointedly and turning in the other direction, when she heard her name. She blinked. Oh. Oh. Right. The backup. The Negaverse deserved some credit for this one, more credit than she'd given them. She'd had a mental picture or someone hulking, or at least someone who she could peg as an agent from across the beach. Instead, she found herself face to face with someone who could blend in perfectly, as well as presumably fight any sea monsters they found themselves up against. "That would be me," she said. She gave a small smile and slipped the phone back into her pocked. "You're Jade?" She glanced back over at the lake, not wanting to miss anything. No cryptids had appeared while she'd been looking away. "You're right on time. I also just arrived."

Of course she was on time. Being late would be unacceptable. At least to Jade it was like that. Not that Jade had never been late, she had. And she regretted every time she had done so. This petite lady had some high standards, especially towards herself. "Yes, I'm Jade," Jade simply replied. Her voice was firm, like this would be a business meeting in an office. For a moment, she just stood there, lips pursing slightly. It was like she was judging her, in a way she was doing just that. Just not completely in negative manner. She wondered how new the other woman was and what skills she had. Certainly, she was more experienced in terms of combat, she hoped so at least. After all, it wouldn't make sense they sent her to protect someone who can protect themselves better than she could, now would it? Jade swifted her stance slightly. What was the correct etiquette in these kinds of situations? Jade wasn't sure, feeling a bit uncomfortable about the fact. She had been away from Destiny City for so long… Well, at least she could greet her partner on the mission. "Nice to meet you," Jade said and offered her hand to Emmy while leaning a bit forward. Finally she wasn't blocking the sun anymore. "Would you mind if I sit down for a bit? It would be beneficial to rest some after a walk. You could give me a report as well so we can be sure our information match."

Emmy took the offered hand and gave a firm shake. There was no reason to slack on etiquette just because they were at the beach. "Nice to meet you, too," she replied, although the word choice was just a formality. It would take time to find out if Jade was actually nice to be around. At least her promptness and manners were promising. She gestured to the empty area beside her. "Of course. We should be able to watch from here unless something crops up. From this angle, we should be able to see most of the reservoir." Emmy had studied the map and seen a few spurs and inlets of water that went off to the side and were hidden by trees, only accessible from the walking trail, and those might need to be looked at eventually, but for now, she was quite content on this beach. As Jade shifted, Emmy got her patch of sunlight back, and she happily dug her heels farther into the warm sand. Then, she picked up her phone again, this time tilting the screen so that the other woman could see. "There have been civilian reports of a strange creature in the area," she said. She'd bookmarked a few conspiracy theory blogs, and now she pulled up the first one. "Although their evidence is -" she paused, clicking her tongue. "Minimal." The picture on the blog was clearly of the same lake they were looking at, although off in the distance there were a few pixels that suggested a dark, blurry figure.
