As much of a musclehead as Mia could be, she had her cheat days. On these cheat days, she would visit this one burger joint and order a big honking double cheeseburger. No matter what anyone said, this place had the best burgers, absolutely hands down. Big and juicy and and meaty and savory and delicious and with just the right amount of cheese. And the fries! The fries were amazing too. Perfect amount of salt and crunch.

After her little indulgence, Mia stepped out of the burger place, stretched, and sniffed the air. Something smelled a little different among the delicious burgery scents. Kind of like... an animal? Well, she wouldn't be surprised if something was playing in the dumpsters nearby. There was probably enough food for a raccoon or whatever to enjoy for a while. Feeling curious, she peeked towards the back of the restaurant to see if something interesting was around.

So there was definitely an animal in the dumpster. However, the talking confused matters. Maybe a homeless man with a feline buddy was picking through the trash? In any case, Mia sympathized with the disgust at pickles. She wanted to like them, but they were just... too much. Briney and too much.

Mia was not the type to ignore anyone stuck in a dumpster, so she approached. "Hey, are you okay in there?" she called out. "I've got a little money left. How about I get you a cheeseburger that isn't covered in nasty trash?" Maybe she shouldn't be trying to bribe a homeless man and his cat, but hard times were hard times. She understood that much.

There was no homeless man. The talking was coming from the cat. Definitely coming from the cat. Mia's face screwed up a few different ways as she processed the notion.

However, the weirdness went down easy, maybe a little too easy. Mia watched too much anime and had a bit of a weird sense of what could happen in the world to begin with. (That's what happens when you're born and raised in the weirdness hub of Destiny City, perhaps.) "Oh, so all that is... you?" She grinned at the talking cat. "Say 'I give you a cheeseburger' if that's you talking." Yeah, that "proof" could be circumvented very easily, but she wasn't particularly fussed about that.

"Maybe you should stay out here while I get you that cheeseburger? I don't want to have to explain the cat in the restaurant. Or the talking cat in the restaurant, either." She leaned over a bit conspiratorily. "I won't tell anyone your secret, don't worry."
