Nereida walked through Homewood soaking in the scents and sights around her. The festival came and went leaving her to her studies seeking truth there might possibly be more waterways directly beneath her hooves. She was in a sense a scholarly type always seeking, resonating ideas of the "Others" and their ideals. Several visits to the Erli Ruins left her pondering daily just what became of that civilization. Apparently, stumbling upon a massive room of books stated they were something grand indeed leaving no rock unturned. Her trip to the Barrens had been more for research than anything discovering there was so much more even her kind had no inkling what was placed in a peculiar puzzle. Before her thoughts began swirling she along with the other party members were trapped by those strange glowing beasts. If Vitalia hadn't brought the assembled oddities of the rescue team Nereida didn't want to ponder what would have happened to them. In short, her inklings spoke of her and others being studied, surveyed for many things. It was difficult to even ponder what the outcome could have contained other then Wanderlust, and the others breathing a conclusive breath. All was safe and well though leaving her grateful to follow the simple stream as it leaped in effervescent movements against the raised rocks.

Today, she chose to follow the lapping water further into Homewood toward the niches of her fellow souls. Many of them had started growing gardens which attracted newer species as of late. Nereida was pleased as her eyes set upon some of the newer ones found recently. Moving more east she followed the stream as it melded into the streams letting her t appreciate that air that playfully danced through Homewood. Returning to her thoughts she imagined deeply a precise river flowing beneath her, the vibration of Vykeli singing praises she was healing again. Within Nereida's mouth was a simple basket for carrying dinner as she gathered the ingredients. Homewood was definitely plentiful of roots, flowers, grasses, fruits, and even buds. In her walk, she had gathered a nice array of colors in each of categories. What she didn't eat now would become scientific research later. Simplistic studies to roots and seeds returning to the ground buried deep. Whatever decision she made would be permanent with the prospect of learning something new.

As she walked down a well-trodden path her eyes slowly slid over toward a strange plant nestled near the base of a large tree. Immediately, it was in her mind pondering what properties this larger leaf could produce. As she neared the interesting arrow-shaped leaf she was greeted by an un-named foal. The young one was extremely curious about this new species quickly taking a bite out of the leaf. Nereida frowned the leaf was damaged yet she accepted foals would be impulsive. Taking a sugar beet from her basket since she had dug up more, Nereida offered it to the hungry foal who had a dirty coat from playing in the muddy banks of the river's mouth. Honestly, it was hard to see which foal it was exactly. Nereida wasn't that great with names since her studies were forth and foremost her focus. Noting the foal accepted the beet she nodded in welcome as the youth trotted off like it won a prize in a game. Focusing back to the poor plant she shook her head reaching down to n** it at the bottom of its stem. She'd definitely have to study this new species, learning what it was capable of growing into. For starters it wasn't poisoned otherwise the foal would have been in horrific trouble. The poor leaf already carried a small bite mark yet it still held some capability of surviving.

Placing the leaf gently on the top of her gathered meal she looked back toward the river. Someday she'd discover her hunches leaving her to find another part of the world directly beneath her. Without water, there could be no life as all creatures deepened on substance and assurance.

Satisfied, she turned back to begin prepping her meal then she noted the same plant growing once again near a tree. A few more steps a tree about 20 feet away sported the same familiar leaf she carried with her. Vykeli was indeed recovering, healing from the trauma that nearly destroyed her. Nereida was strong, but the world she touched her hooves upon was resilient proving she was giving up along with the various nouls using their powers to heal the world around them. So many ideas, questions were always making themselves known that Nereida would never stop till she had her answer.

Walking beneath her beloved tree to her hollow she dipped her head entering. Nereida's mind always whispering, she never stopped pondering about the world around her. For now, though, it was time to prepare dinner since her brother Zahir was paying a visit.

She'd examine that new leaf later and perhaps as that foal try it herself...
