Apartment applications were hard.

Mind, so was thinking of powered life -- Daniel had tyasken to avoid powering anymore now. The nightmares of a black future, then somehow... He seemed trapped as a Chibi senshi, when the others were no longer chibis. And then Owen justy up and vanoished...

Daniel also barely saw Thomas anymore. The closest he had to support was calls from his Papa and Reuben., Reiben, and the new baby. Daniel still felt so lost and disconnected though. He didn't feel like his classmates -- in fact he'd considered dropping out of school, until his Papa wearned him not. Knowing his Papa was divorcing his Mama, and was fighting her for custody of Rosario... It felt like his fault, and a part of his support network was gonew.

Daniel rose from where he had collapsed to move, turning and slowly looking for something to work on. He supposed he could go seek work from his Papa. He was low on money and desperately needed the finances to afford his own space, away from his mother, from Reuben and Thomas and himself. He felt trapped in his own skin, and it distressed him. Slowly, the hispanic teen moved to check the bank, and groaned, rubbing his face. He was almost out of belongings he could reasonably put up in hocks to survive, and he wanted to do better. He needed a job. And maybe some time to sit with Bailey and just talk -- goodness knew he hadn't done that often enough. With Owen missing he needed to talk to her. He had to... If it wasn't so hard.

"Ai, me." Daniel groaned, muttering slowly before he reached, grabbing the phone and dialling. He needed something -- something good. The phone rang sebveral times befoire a man with a deeply Mexican-spanish accent answerted the phoine.

"Hello?" He dsaid slowly, and Daniel immediately lapsed into Sopanish.

"[Hello Juan. Is Padre in?]"

"[Oh, Daniel. Aye yes he's in, one moment, he's breaking in a new waiter.]" The phoner went to hold music, Daniel highly amused by his father's choice in music. Then again, some horribnly sad songs were bouncy and cheery. After a moment a new voice came on the line, lively and cheery.

"Daniel, Mijo! [iWhat bringsa you tyo call? Are you well?]" Daniel's father fussed immediately, Daniel smiling faintly.

"[Hello Papa. No, nothing dire of yet. I... I wanted to know if you had neeed of a new employee. I know I help sometimes but I need work and--]"

"Ah me, Daniel... [As it so happens I do, but are you sure? I used to put you up front and what I need is another chefg.]"

"[I can cook, Papa. Cook, bus or wait tables...]"

There was a deep sigh on the other end before Ruben Alvarez-Garcia Jr. Sighed patioently.

[Alright, alright. I know you are trying, son. And you know the restaurant recipes. I will test you on Saturday,. I will especially need help for our first Mariachi night without Ruben in years." The older Ruben chuckled good naturedly, as Daniel beamed.

"Muchas Gracias, Papa." Daniel saiud, and his father crooned.

"Te amo, mijo."

"Te amo, Papa."

The phone clicked, and Daniel sighed, laying on his back and looking up before slowly. he rose, walking to the kitychen. He had spoeed practice to do, and perhaps he would bring Bailey the del;icious things for her familhy. Maybe she'd even attend Mariachi Night...

If only. Such a nice thought.
