Willow Bark awoke suddenly, having been kicking and whimpering during a bad dram. A yawn escaped his mouth, wide and accompanied by a piercing sound only wolves and dogs could emit. Well. That's what he thought, anyway.
It was early afternoon - earlier than most of the pack arose - when he stalked out of his den. Having already stretched, he glanced about for something to do. He didn't have an official, formal duties for another hour or so, so he could use something to occupy him. Then, a lightbulb went off in his head. You know who he hadn't had enough time with, just yet? Forest Shadow, his son Hoot's mate. Hoot was a very sweet and gentle soul, and she complemented him wonderfully in that she was just the same. They were a beautiful pair, the two of them, and he realized then and there that he needed to get to know her more. But where, oh where, could she be?
