Well, this was a perfect sunny day. Rays of golden light trickled through the canopy as Fein took a pleasant stroll through the heart of Homewood. The sound of frolicking foals, twittering birds, and casual conversation from nearby Noulicorn was a comfort to the chipper buck. There was something about being surrounded by other's that lulled his naturally cautious mind. Perhaps that was the reason he tended to stay within the confines of this sanctuary and keep his hooves well out of the Barrens. Well, he knew deep down it wasn't the only reason, but he refused to acknowledge the truth.
His casual walk was going smoothly, just as planned. Unfortunately it wouldn't continue on in such a leisurely fashion. Trees were such funny things. Unpredictable and yet completely stationary. Who would have suspected that one would drop a pine cone of sorts directly on top of Fein's head. It was a blessing to say that such a bulky object dropped from one of the lower branches of the pine. Having fallen from a good fifteen feet or so it conked the Noul right on the skull, causing him to stumbling a bit before collapsing to the grass beneath his hooves.
