Occupation ● Pirate/private agent for Akantha: Mouse does whatever Akantha requires. She’s an adept sailor and practiced listener. Nothing happens on the ship that she doesn’t get word of, and any word she gets goes straight back to her captain.
Hobbies ● Conspiracies: Her life has thus far not been conducive to a particularly healthy mental state, resulting in frequent paranoia, amongst other things. She finds an odd amount of delight in wildly theorizing and investigating nonsense things. Only to herself, of course. ● Poetry: An odd side effect of storing away vast amounts of information is her interest in poetry. She has memorized every book of poetry she’s encountered. There’s a strange comfort in the rotary, like saying prayers to the universe itself. Prose, however, is a completely different story. ● Eavesdropping: This is fairly self explanatory. Mouse is a hoarder of information. The more, the better. This is not limited to her crew and captain. On the rare stops in port, her favourite pastime is skulking in dark doorways to see what tidbits she can gather.
The Personal Things ▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃ Personality ● She got her name for a reason. She's very timid and shy, but insatiably curious, prone to listening at door cracks and climbing high enough to give gods vertigo. She sees everything and hears everything, and says nothing. Mouse is also incredibly loyal. She views her crew as replaceable, but reveres her captain with the utmost of respect and is willing to go to the ends of the earth if so ordered.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Strengths ● I Can See You, You Can’t See Me: Before even the gathering of information is the instinct to stay small and out of sight. ● Cunning: Small and young as she is, it would be foolish to assume she was stupid. Though few have heard her speak at length, she is extremely eloquent. What’s more, she has not only dedicated herself to the gathering of knowledge but absolutely learned to weaponize it. ● Memory: Mouse has worked very hard to maximize her memory, writing and rewriting documents, intercepted messages, and overheard conversations. All rapidly burnt before anyone could steal her knowledge
Weaknesses ● Akantha: Mouse makes some very bad decisions when it comes to Akantha. She’s absolutely devoted to her idol, willing to go as far as she must. ● Socialising: The way she sees it, her power comes from being invisible and unknown. As such, she never bothered to polish any social skills. She has also been abused in some form or fashion by ninety percent of the people she’s met. ● The Kraken: She would never admit it, but she lives in absolute terror of the kraken. It probably isn’t real. That does not reassure her.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Biography ● Before her memories began, she was stolen away from whatever family bore her and tossed to the wayside at first opportunity. Her earliest memory is hiding under some stairs, from what she has no idea. She was raised bouncing from crew to crew, learning everything she could in a frantic bid to survive. She stayed out of sight, made attempts to not cause problems, and hoarded information as she drifted from ship to ship. She continued to drift along until she met Akantha, who was the first mate of the Lady of the Night. She absolutely idolises the badass pirate lady. Akantha is everything Mouse wants to be: strong, fearless, powerful. Mouse requested to join the crew immediately upon their first meeting, citing her experience growing up as a sort of resume. The future captain could see her use and agreed. Her time on the ship has not been as long as some of the other women, yet she has quickly made herself indispensable especially when the ship traded hands from the former captain to Akantha.
