*This RP immediately follows And Suddenly Fingers, and takes place on the evening of Saturday, May 16.


The second half of Saturdays had the distinction of being one of the few times that Tetra didn't have any specific responsibilities. And, to make things even better, he didn't have any papers that needed to be graded.

So he spent a while at the archery range (okay, not so much an archery range as it was a large field where no one complained, but details. He took some halfway decent pictures of the targets, and even managed to use a timer pic to capture a shot of himself right as he loosed an arrow.

All in all, not a bad afternoon.


Once night had fallen, he situated himself on his studio apartment couch (that he had one at all he considered a minor miracle) and put on a show to watch a few episodes of. Have a nice, quiet evening of being left the ******** alone.



Alas, it was not to be, for he had the distinct misfortune of having his address known to the Negaverse (and by extension Chip & Chara). He just didn't know that was going to screw up his plans...just yet.




Approaching the apartment on foot, Chip was walking along with Chara Theo, marveling at how small everything seemed now, and how long and bendy fingers were.

"Have you ever thought," Chip said as they walked down the hall holding. Hand out in front of himself, "With fingers, you can just..." He suddenly got in super close to Theo, conveniently as they got to the right door, "take your finger and," he held up an index finger, and just poked it right into Theo's nostril, "Do this?"

Chip looked...chagrined to be rebuffed for the nose picking. Though he said in reply, "Oh, yeah, I guess that makes sense..." He nodded, and wiped his finger on his shirt absently.

As they discussed the finer points of nose-picking etiquette (at least when it came to picking other peoples' noses), Gan had paused his show, and was making his way over to the door. There wasn't much room to cover, honestly, so it was about then that he opened the door, and stared for a couple seconds. Whatever he thought might be at his door...Theo with some kid was not it.


"Uhm...dare I ask why you have a child now?" he said, recovering his senses. "Please tell me you didn't steal him."


"I'm not stolen!" Chip replied cheerfully. "I'm exactly where I meant to be!"

"He's...Chip?" Gan replied, eyes wide and eyebrows up. Chip grinned and nodded quickly. "Huh. Uhm...fine." Gan said, somewhat reluctantly, and took a step back. "C'mon in, I guess..."

His apartment wasn't much, but it was definitely more than a barracks room. There was a small kitchen area with a small table at its edge, a worn couch in front of a passably sized TV, and a single person bed in a corner. The only other room appeared to be his bathroom.

Chip, of course, darted right in, and practically tossed himself on the couch. "Furniture is weird when you're giant," he concluded, immediately rolling upside down, back on the seat and legs on the backrest. His hat fell off, though he didn't seem bothered...or to notice, really.

Gan helpfully pointed toward his kitchenette when Chip looked up questioningly. The boy rolled off the couch then and said, "Okay, okay, fiiiine!"

At the very least, he knew how things like sinks and soap worked...So was mostly able to accomplish that...although he still managed to make a wet mess in the process.

Gan closed the door, locked it, and gestured to his couch. "Have a seat," he said evenly. "I guess I should be flattered you thought of me for keeping him safe...though I don't exactly have a lot on hand for, uh, house guests."

Gan was mildly surprised that Theo even thought of taking his shoes off, and so was a little impressed that it happened at all.

He kept standing, keeping an eye on Chip as he splashed and looked at things around him, like his head was on a swivel. "Yeah, I guess you would have," he replied. "I've got a spare blanket for the winter, at least, so that's something...And you can have some of the curry I had, it's still in the pot on the stove, so--"

He stopped then, because Chip had finished his hand washing business, and was investigating said pot already. "Don't mess with that!" Gan said, quickly moving that way. "The last thing I need right now is curried floor."

"Things aren't as fun to knock over when they're so much smaller than me...but still heavy," Chip replied, not quite objecting to Gan's implication.

The mess of water was...a thing. At least it wasn't curry. "There's a spare towel in the drawer there," he gestured to one right on the edge of the kitchen area, and then unceremoniously scooped up Chip, who didn't really object--he laughed, actually.

"Even when I'm gigantic, you're even bigger, wow!" Chip declared, and then was deposited in one of the two cheap chairs Gan had at the kitchenette's table.

"Now you stay there, and I'll give you a cookie," Gan told him.

"Oh! Eating like a human! That sounds fun!"

Chip looked thoroughly baffled at the sudden question, while Gan snorted and said softly, "Ikh saikhan"


Ever the inquisitive one, Chip replied, "Oh! You rub the little paper that spins after you sit on the toilet, right?" He scratched his cheek. "Yeah, I think I can figure it out!" He nodded decisively then.

"I've seen small humans ride on shoulders though!" Chip replied cheerfully. "I'm sure I could ride on yours just fine~" He giggled.

"But...you're right. I've gotta figure this out. It's so weird..." He rubbed his chin again. "I felt something right before it happened. Hopefully it happens again so I can maybe figure out where it came from...But I can test a few theories! I'll just need some stuff from my workshop...And some bigger goggles."

"Goggles?" Gan asked, plunking down a couple of cheap curry bowls in front of his 'guests.' "I hope you're not planning on burning, melting, or welding anything in my apartment, Chip."

"Oh!" Chip replied, wide-eyed. "No! Well...Maybe a bit of welding..." He eyed Gan a moment. "But I guess I could do without that..."
