Reillan stretched in his armor, he had spent the morning getting all sweaty and disgusting battling the other guards in the palace. Then he had showered and put on his uniform, now he was content to face the activities of the day.

He strolled down the hallway and his eyes alighted upon the love of his life.

"Varinia, you look most beautiful this fine morning." He pulled a rose from where he had hidden it just in case he were to come across her. He was a romantic and a big softie, thats why when wars came he wore a mask, so he looked savage, which he could be, sometimes.

He took her in his arms after he was sure no one was looking and kissed her well. "Good morning."

He grunted in fake pain, "Yeah you should see the other guy, got him right in the nose, he won't miss a block to the face ever again." Training could be brutal, and he was one of the decent ones that everyone decided they needed to beat. Except he also got better with each match.

"How is the royal prince today my love?"

They had all been touched by Nic's birth but Reil knew he was particularly a favorite of Var's.

"I don't know that these guys could handle two lessons, a bit irresponsible don't you think? We still want them to be able to guard after, besides I'm not the best out there, perhaps that is where they should get two lessons from."

"I think a playmate would be a wonderful idea, I know how much Nae enjoyed your company over the years, Nic won't be any different."

"I saw one of the healers peer at me oddly today, do you think I look ill enough to warrant a second look?" He didn't feel ill.

Reillan gave her side eye for a moment, "Probably have twice as much fun, did you happen to eat fermented fruit for breakfast? You are behaving oddly. Did I lose double on a bet we made?"

She had this odd sparkle in her eye that said he was not getting the joke, whatever it was.

"Maybe we both need to eat, come lets take a break."

"What about the fish place? They have a nice wide selection and are not too pricey." He liked fish, well fish prepared there anyway, only from there. "You are right we went to that other place too much again." He was practically made of that spicy rice dish he loved it so much, he would order it every time.

He enjoyed this peaceful time with her so much, she was his forever and he found much delight in her. He had chosen well.

"Var are you okay?" He asked when she returned, "I'll let the palace know you are not available, no fish for you just soup or tea or some other kind of fluid, has anything bitten you recently? " He looked for scorpion stings on exposed flesh.

He handed her a canteen of water to wash out her mouth.

"So sorry. I hate throwing up."

His face changed as she spoke it went from patient husband to oh my and then his mouth dropped open.

"Your pregnant?!" He slapped his forhead, "Thats why all those weird behaviours, and the hints and the oh my gods." He was going to be a dad. Him, himself, Reillan...a DAD!

He got right down on his knees and wrapped his arms around her, she was his whole world and his head lay over top of his children because his face was pressed into her belly.

He didn't move for a while, his eyes were watering and he kind of froze there in an infinite moment with her in his arms.

"Var, you are my everything and now you honor me beyond belief...."

Then he snorted, "Playmates for the prince~" he said mimicing her voice.

Reillan gave a happy sigh, this was so the woman for him. "I was actually hoping that we would have little feet running around sooner or later. I guess I'm not really surprised per say as delighted."

He pondered what she said, "I think you are very right, and its two you said? Well that will keep him busy and out or rather in trouble depending on whose side of the family the kids take after."

He rose and held her hands in his.

"You have made me the happiest man in Tendaji."
