Coming Together

Solo Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750

Prompt
The past five years have continued to meld and mesh the lands of Tendaji. Where once tribes kept to their own lands, many were now seeing their colorful neighbors on a regular basis. While the cultures still stand, a welcoming sense of curiosity and openness has resulted in a peace across the entire region.

What have you done these past five years? Have you explored? Have you welcomed others? What has your story been and how have you grown in this new future of Tendaji?

This solo-only prompt is for you to explore the growth of your character these past 5 years in relation to the cultures of Tendaji. You must walk us through how your character's impression of the other races has changed or evolved, and how they've grown as a result.

Yunan was finally back in Matori. It was almost unreal to see the rocky shorelines of his home again after all of these years. Yunan was nearly tempted to believe that it was a dream and that surely he would wake up in Belrea soon enough. Not that Belrea was an awful place but it just was not his home. Matori was his home and when his Aunt had first asked him almost five years ago to leave it he had been hesitant because he did not want to leave behind the last place that made him feel like his mother was still with them, still alive and lighting up his life with her presence. When he had first come to Matori with his Zenan father it was the only way that the two of them had been able to deal with their heartache from losing the Matori woman who had warmed their hearts and brightened their lives. But then when Yunan had shown he had business sense and good charisma for setting deals and gaining sponsors his Aunt had begged him to help her out. He was the only one who could help her pharmaceutical business to bloom in different countries. She had already expanded into Oba and Sauti with his help and now she could explore Belrea and see what they had to offer while introducing Matori medicine there as well. It was perfect. Yunan could go and learn more about Belrean practices while making money and connections by sharing what he knew from Matori. How could he not go? He was a man who wanted money and wanted power so it was the perfect opportunity.

At the time Yunan had been hesitant to agree to his Aunt’s request. Could he truly survive a year in Belrea, a strange land, that may not have any ocean near for him to visit? Would their oceans even be like the Matori beaches? Would the venture be worth it? Surely it would take longer than six months like his Aunt continued to express. He knew better. If he returned within three years he would be lucky. The thought made his heart ache and at the time the usually collected man had actually spent time crying while staring out over the ocean of his homeland.

At the time he did not want to leave. It was the last thing on his mind when he could just stay at home and study. Study and practice the art of sword fighting which he loved. He only socialized to make connections that were necessary. He hated actually bonding with people because he did not want to go through the pain of losing them. That mentality was still mostly there even five years later. Especially when he realized that he had missed Matori almost like he had mourned his mother’s passing. It was foolish and nearly cost him the business venture by making him want to linger instead of pressing forward.

So after convincing himself that it was for the best, Yunan left Matori and headed to Belrea. While he was there he focused on the business and even made connections with a songbird who helped to spread news of the new pharmaceutical business in the city. He had gotten sponsors, learned more about Belrea medicine and even set up a shop that could function on its own now. He would get yearly payments from Belrea out of the profits of the shop and his Aunt could later go to Belrea to secure their connections from time to time while collecting on her profits. Now to just make certain our connections in Oba are still strong. The city of Sulburi was his next target. Yunan wanted to get connections within the noble society to help build his wealth and hopefully to obtain power. He had gotten rumors that a nobleman was wanting help with finding his estranged daughter and Yunan was eager to accept the task. Normally one would be more wary of an iceling hybrid but Yunan’s experiences over the years had built him somewhat of a decent reputation even in Oba. He just hoped that he could continue pushing forward as he had the past five years and continue forward towards his goals.

For now he would check in with his Aunt and hopefully see if his father was back from Zena. Zena was a place where Yunan had some connections but for now he avoided the area. It was already secured simply by being his father’s son so he didn’t have to worry about the challenges there. That would be an easy task for later but first he had to focus on Oba. One step at a time. Yunan smirked before turning from the path and heading towards the familiar outline of the home that he had left nearly five years ago.
